I'm fond of (and have found a lot supporting) the view that some of us specifically returned for a greater mission here on Earth, namely in the realm of unconditional love.

It's my own spin that we have outstanding karma with certain higher level souls, which may have been lingering for either a while, or could be more recent.

Plato's notion is both useful and metaphorically endearing, but I don't believe we all have Twin Flames and are here to reunite with them. I don't believe it's an equal society, so to speak, but nor am I classist by any stretch. Eldest aid the young, the young inspire the older. There's a system in place; if you operate with love, respect, and honesty, it works quite well.

Instead, I feel we've -- erm, Twin Flames -- have returned to Earth to clear any karma we have here, which allows us to take a crack at Ascension. So, we're older and have 'graduated' many other parts of the programme, so to speak, but have opted to select other realms of experience over completing our education. So the Earth is a kind of beautiful meeting place as well as a battle ground. I'm becoming of the opinion some of us have stayed away from here because of the karma we've amassed. We weren't fond of having to return.

Nonetheless, when you're so very close to returning to true Unity, and many members of your Oversoul are also eager to leave the Earth system, you find you're a bit ... duty-bound. And so, you return to the third dimension to pick up where you left off, and the rest is ... this lifeline.

I studied at a university which is small, in comparison to other universities. Private, lovely campus, mostly liberal arts. There was easily 200 or so Psychology Majors when I was attending for my Bachelor's. Eventually, I began to customise my degree, and ended up creating a specialisation in the Forensic Psychology field. It allowed me to cobble together the remnants of the Criminal Justice major, which had just disbanded right after my enrollment, but before classes began. So I ended up creating a bespoken degree from many related fields -- sociology, political science, law, neurology -- even anthropology.

At the end of the day, only I had a Forensic Psychology degree from that university -- which made me unique from the other 199 or so.

However, three other Psych Majors were also preparing for a career in law enforcement, and one Middle Eastern woman (who was so cool, and I wish I'd been able to keep in touch) was actually planning to apply to the FBI, too.

At graduation time, only I had a Forensic Psychology degree, (Psychology: Specialisation: Forensic, technically) and there was one other Psychology student going into law enforcement at the federal level; of the two of us, only I was preparing to work in violent crime.

Charts, to me, work this way. It starts so broad, but does narrow over time. As we apply filtres and look at designations, the pool shrinks a little. And then a little more. And a little more.

Charts allow us to do what it is we're trying to achieve. They provide a map, or 'curriculum' or 'skill set' for the many things we hope to do, or our soul is intent upon doing. We may not be able to understand most of it yet, and, indeed, as astrology continues to unfold throughout our lives, but we have some basic understanding that it was the best choice for our current plan.

He broke my heart 20 years ago and I broke my rule 5 years ago to never EVER engage ex boyfriends.

We are very different, yet the same. He says out loud what I am thinking and we both have a very dark humor.

Our synasty is lovely. His SN/Vertex is conjunct my Ascendant. Our nodes trine/sextile each other. His Leo Sun/Mars sits in my 12th (he protects me). His Moon conjuncts my Venus. We have a Venus/Pluto DW. My 2H stellium overlays his 8H stellium.

He is in my natal chart. I am in his natal chart. My Sun conjuncts his Sun/Moon midpoint along with everything else.

Yes, I think fixed stars are one of the usual suspects when it comes to gateways, and a fixed star configured with the middle of fixed signs makes a lot of sense.

Funny enough I have some asteroid gathered on these 14-15 Scorpio, including MOIRA, SIVA, LONDON, LANCELOT, GWYN, EURYDIKE, BACCHUS etc. lol

Oh and speaking of asteroids, ANUBIS, he is the guardian of the gates anyway.
For some weird reason I suspect Bast or Ubasti in that, too, but maybe just for me specifically.
For some years now I have noticed certain cats being around me, especially when I am alone at home, or just after I felt that thinning of the veils, sometimes coming with the feeling as if some not so nice energies are near; invariably a few minutes after that I will see one of the neighbour`s cat, patroling our house and garden, and I mean it, they are PATROLING.
And they listen all to the sound of the name BAST. Seriously, I have seen their eyes being lit up when addressing them like that. Literally. Even my mom remarked on that strange glittering reflection in the cat`s eyes.

The last one actually visited me a day before his death (which I had no idea), just to say goodbye. I mean that cat actually SAID goodbye.
Well for some weeks now there has been another cat just appearing (noone really knows where these cats come from, though in this case it might be a cat of our new neighbours), and it is also doing the patroling and sparkling eyes thing. So, now for that 'preparatory stage'. I see it as a purgatory stage to rid oneself of fetters that hold the mind bondage. This stage too, I feel, could look rather different in detail depending on each case. What I would think to be the common denominator would be a period of shedding afflictions of the mind (and perhaps, also the body) that prevent one from realizing one's full potential prior to meeting the other person. By this I mean the purging of bad habits, of addictions (including, but not limited to, addictions to mind-altering substances), of dependence on external validation from other people, of insecurity about one's life purpose, of fears and phobias....all such kinds of debilitating things, again, depending on one's type. This, in many cases, would likely require an extended period of seclusion and introspection, maybe even a kind of spiritual quest involving a sincere effort to adopt an ethical lifestyle, with the result of shedding one's old skin like a snake. Over the course of years or even decades, this would lead to a process of becoming fully self-reliant, especially in an emotional sense. I would expect that people in such a stage would adopt spiritual development as their main goal, seeing all their other activities (creating, healing, defending...) as auxiliary to that goal, and as a service or sacrifice to creation; and that they would become fiercely determined to manifest the most positive version of themselves, not expecting any particular reward for their effort (such as finding their TF). They would do it because of an intense longing or hunger for oneness with the source of all life above all else. This would in time grant them the power of insight, and this would enable them to spot others on the same path, including their TF if incarnate at that point in time/space. I would think that this would also entail a sense of surrendering to a greater force, and the giving up of hoping, fretting, and wishing.

Images that come to mind which symbolize this stage to me are closely related to ideas of mysticism - such as, Buddha's seven years of searching for enlightenment and struggle with the Lord of Death; Jesus in the desert; or, to bring in the nerd perspective, Luke Skywalker's training on Dagobah

The first part about various archetypes incarnating as twins is very interesting, I have not thought of it this way. But it makes perfect sense as a transitory stage to being complete, in a god-like form. in this case, an interesting question is raised, answered many times and in many forms: when does the TF meeting occur? Right before the end? or in various stages? I have not come to an answer t this as of yet.

But the preparatory stage is quite clear in my mind, experience and research. BTW, the research on Twins is extremely new, are you aware of it? Almost non-existent. To the point i am not even sure a Twinflame union has ever taken place and that in fact, the very contemporary interest in this is mostly because we are on the brink of our very first TF reunion or string of TF reunions. i don't think that's bad. Actually, I have a feeling it hasn't happened yet, in its purest form.
So most TF examples on the web and books seem quite shady...or maybe it's my suspicious nature...there aren't testimonials from older couples, and I wouldn't count a pair of twins unless they have at least 50 years of couple experience together and/or they emanate it in a blunt and totally obvious way. But time, apart from the exceptional of their presence and maybe deeds, would be the most important research coordinate.

But I digress, we were now talking about the preparatory stage. Yes, I agree with you completely, I will add: during this stage, there will be an intense "purging" of previous emotional patterns and relationships, it could be quite intense, apart from understanding the nature of the wounds from the past, there is also this intense feeling of new beginning, it can be overwhelming, as if you wonder why you had to go through those, what was the point, it's a struggle like a cycle, even to the point of wanting to have felt every single moment, when it comes to the level of a love connection, with the twin. But dwelling in the past is not the issue here, but I did want to pinpoint this is a very intense, all-encompassing experience when the past becomes like a game of shadows. Well, this is common in all experiences involving some kind of enlightenment. It's a death a rebirth.

The preparatory stage is triggered by the event through which you become aware of the twin...about this event:

it being triggered by meeting the actual person is quite rare, based on testimonials of people experiencing the phenomenon (many of them quite shady as I was saying, shady because the rest of the story eventually proves demoralizing, not a twinflame story, or because there are obvious psychiatric implications) But some of them seem genuine. The point is, we are still talking about a model here. The core idea is that twin awareness is triggered either by meeting the actual person (seems very rare), a twin hologram (someone triggering the process in you, because he she brings something related to the twin, the one I called the "fake", who eventually proves to be an "angel" for you) or by having a vision, dream or revelation of the twin. There are no generations as of yet being born and educated with the idea there is a twin, totally understandable. So this becomes a very personal experience, unlike cultural beliefs, which may trigger a quite traumatic experience due to the isolation you experience. There are no Twinflame Vision Quest yet as the Native Americans had for coming of age rituals.

My own view as well. Switching bodies is against the core myth. But many people try to find an answer as to why they had or have several relationships, who these people are in the scheme of things. Once you become aware of soulmates, of any kind, it's natural to try to understand who exactly those souls are.

According to the model I believe in, a Twinflame reunion should proceed as follows:

1. both people, simultaneously or rather close in time become aware of the existence of the twin soul

2. this triggers the preparatory stage which becomes the focus of their existence, in fact, as Vajra describes ( ongoing explanation for this)

3. Twinflame reunion

Voila! that simple lol there are however millions of years behind this, me thinks

Over the course of your life you may have dreams of a “mystery man/woman.” When you meet them, it’s not necessarily a physical similarity, although many report that, it’s the eyes, and the smile, or maybe the overall presence of that person that feels exactly like that person you dreamed about.

Synchronicity will be abundant. You may find yourselves calling, emailing and texting one another at the exact same time. You may also find yourselves buying each other gifts at the same time or thinking about one another at the exact same time.

An intense desire to ultimately be together no matter the obstacles blocking your way.

The ability to dream of your partner in their current state and verify the accuracy of that dream, later.

You may notice the ability to collapse time as you knew it. Upon your coming together, time and space both will cease to exist.

When you and your partner are out and about, you may notice the eyes of everyone are upon you. Your deep connection for one another will shine so greatly, that it is not uncommon for the eyes of everyone to be upon the two of you.

You may find yourselves completing each others sentences, sometimes even before you have the chance to begin them.

You are stunned, sometimes blown away by their sheer presence that seems to constantly surround you.

You never feel possessed, merely comforted by their presence. You feel instantly reassured that everything is right with the world as long as you can sense them.

Upon connecting with your Soulmate, you may find that you are practically mirror images of one another and that you may want to even run from your partner because of the things you see from the reflection of his/her eyes. You may push your Soulmate away for a time, while you work to get comfortable with the experiences and feelings you feel near them.

Sometimes you feel unable to communicate verbally, because you feel the relationship is so far along energetically. There is a gap between the energetic and the physical relationship.

You have dreams and experiences or flashbacks to lives or experiences filled with this person. Maybe you make the mistake of calling them by a name you once knew them by or they do that to you.

If the both of you have similar interests, you may discover that you have been drawn to the same tastes or have been expressing similar frustrations long before your Twin Flame reunification. Sometimes you don’t realize you have the same interests until one of you introduces the other to a new interest or hobby.

You’ll either have similar body challenges or reflective ones. You might be able to feel when the other is weakened, or ill, or hurting. It may also affect you physically.

You find that your Soulmate is the only one to alleviate you completely of your suffering, your pain, or heal your emotional or spiritual ails fully.

The individual soul mates become more as one, without losing their unique identities.

There may be obstacles to overcome to be together, but there are no barriers between twin flames. The relationship is a totally open one, and evolves naturally and often rapidly.

This doesn’t happen in most relationships as it’s usually the day-to-day things but it’s like looking into this mirror through their eyes and into your own soul.

You will not have to dumb yourself down vibrationally to accommodate this person. You interact with other people who you can’t speak their language, they just don’t get it, you can hardly connect with them on a vibrational level at all so you dumb yourself down. You won’t have to do this with your Twin because you can say anything or be anything in their presence and they get it.

Very quickly you will begin to feel a very high energy, almost an orgasmic energy, between you. Sometimes this is felt in the lower centers and is taken for passion, a chemical reaction, which is very common, but where it lands is what makes the difference. You feel it in your heart. It’s like the whole explosion of energy as a release ends up coming to your heart instead of just to your loins. If you feel it in your loins, pay attention to this. Is it just that you want to have intercourse with them or do you want to be inside of them somehow or have them inside of you? Big trigger! It’s like how can I walk into this person, like intercourse wouldn’t be enough.

There’s rarely a desire to be apart. Now that doesn’t mean physically, you may have the opportunity to be with someone physically but it’s more like your attention is with them all day, like you are in their body suit, that you will feel them. They can be half way across the planet and there’s no desire for any kind of separation, it’s you connecting with you and so you are intuiting what they are experiencing. You feel when they are sad, you feel when they are happy, you feel when they are angry. So when it’s said that you rarely want to be apart that’s true. If you are together all the time, you very often have complimentary vocations, or avocations in which the work one of you is doing is multiplied by the other and vice versa but without any sense of competition. Nobody is trying to control anything.

There is NO co-dependence. Co-dependence is a big red flag. It’s a symbol of the illusory Twin, the False Twin. So pay attention there. If you go searching for someone and you are attracted to them for any number of reasons and all of a sudden that relationship becomes co-dependent, you can bet ego is smack in the middle of it. These are two sovereign beings with no need to own or control each other.

The telepathic connection is really strong. When you are in each others presence you literally start finishing each others sentences. Sometimes it’s just saying out loud what the other person was thinking. Now that can happen with soul mates too but it is really common with Twins and right from the beginning, not like living with each other for 30 years and you are doing it because you have been in each others presence for so long. So reading energy is common because we are all interconnected but when you start saying out loud what the other was just thinking very early in the relationship, that is a really big signal.

There’s a greater awareness to your joint purpose and it almost always involves some sort of service to humanity on a larger scale. The combination of your acquired talents to bring more light to the whole. Now this doesn’t mean that you have to be like one person an actor and one person a writer, it could be that your acquired talents are energetic talents, like you really know how to hold a field together and you can just live or be together and create these massive fields of love for the planet and act as an anchor point. That might be the service, it doesn’t mean you have to be out front and center, teaching anything or being the guru. Your living it is the service.

It’s absolutely effortless to be in a constant state of giving love to this person with absolutely no thought of what‘s going to be returned. There is no question of “what’s in it for me” going through your mind. Because you are giving so much love, that energy grows exponentially and becomes so magnified between you that there is this constant flow of palpable energy between all of your chakras not just your hearts, all of your chakras. It’s this coming together and going apart and coming together and going apart. It’s like coming into union and stepping back and being a sovereign being. This happens whether you are physically together or apart, you feel it, it becomes like a rhythm for you. This is happening because as you give this love it’s like a self-regenerative energy that you subliminally agree to pass between you, it’s like you are feeding each other in a very unusual way but you are feeding each other this energy of love.

Also you are going to feel a deep sense of unity that you’ve never known before, like a single unit. It’s like you have locked bodies somehow and you are walking around and doing these amazing things without having to conform to each others personality.

You will very often, especially if you are doing any kind of energy work together, you are going to move out of time and space altogether a lot. Sometimes just instantly without even thinking about it. It has to do with being truly present in the moment, the now moment, with this beloved. Whole days can pass without even noticing any expenditure of energy that might otherwise be difficult in the tasks of your day. When you practice working in the heart field, you start assessing it so often, sometimes you will just slip into it without consciously creating it. That is always out of the time space continuum.

Absolutely anything that stands in the way of either of you opening yourself completely to true love is going to rise up to the surface and be right in your faces in an exaggerated and magnified manner. Any Karma that might stand between you from having bumped into each other or working with each other in other lifetimes is going to show up in a big hurry. Even though you may start with this passionate affair, suddenly all this stuff is going to come up and it’s coming up so you can dissolve and consume the illusions that are standing in the way of you actually holding only love at the nucleus of your relationship. When that happens, if you will both promise and commit to remain in the heart and choose love instead of judgment, all those limitations can be accepted and loved free very quickly. They come up not to be re-engaged in, they come up to be dissolved and consumed. If you make a list of every grievance you have with your beloved, and you brought it up without re-engaging in the whole history of everything that’s ever happened between you and then you burn that between you as a symbol and then use the Violet Consuming Flame. This is just a ritual and a powerful gift between you that allows you to break all those interior barriers to giving and receiving love. That takes a commitment, it takes building that muscle to do that.

If you are involved with a partner in a sexual relationship, there is going to be an inner, deeper, natural understanding of the sacred union between you. And you will so swiftly learn to control and utilize the sexual energy for higher purposes. I remember a study done in the late 80's early 90's about identical twins who were separated at birth. There was several cases(6/7 pairs of twins) in the study.
They reunited the twins and in the process find out many of them had nearly identical milestones in their lives. They had started college around the same time, married at the same time, had kids at the same time...another words they matured at the same rate. I'm not saying TF lives will be identical but I'm thinking their maturity would be closely connected or similar.

To me it makes more sense that a genuine TF would be on the same page as you as the same time. If we are the same soul wouldn't we progress at the same rate?

Personally, I believe TFs move in synch, but of course, I couldn't know this for sure, we are exploring the concept here. I believe this because it seems logical to me that we simply MUST not believe Twinflames involve a tragic story. This is something I am very clear about and stated it in my OP, we mustn't be afraid of perfection; just because it isn't here yet, it doesn't mean it doesn't exist. If you are aware of the existence of the TF, you are very close to reuniting with him, but probably this awareness came through a substitute? how did you become aware of TF existence, BTW?
