Amazing dreams you described, seeing yourself like that, and the color symbolism as well…now I'm of course curious what it told you! But some things are only for the recipient, as I very well understand. Anyway, congrats for receiving what appears to be an important insight! Did you see that thread over in Astrology where the 15th of March was named as a special day for something like this to happen? As usual, I was skeptical but yesterday, something rather unexpected indeed happened to me too…but in the waking state. A puzzling question long unanswered was finally resolved with the help of a friend, and gave me new insight into the workings of karma.

For me, it was this morning, and yes, absolutely mind-blowing.

Suggested astrology for these "signs", based on long-term romantic couples, the "seed" of a TF relationship, if not it Please add your insight or corrections

Similarities With Birth Dates

I can clearly see here the Sun/Sun aspect, the energy of such an aspect (connecting the very heart of the two horoscopes, the Sun) is unmistakable and hard to replace by anything else.

2. The feeling like you already knew this person before you met.
All the classical "karmic" aspects: connections to SN/nodal axis, IC, Draco, Karma asteroid. I think a SN connection and an important IC involvement (directly or indirectly) will be present, if not in tropical, definitely in Draco.

3. They seem unreal to you at times.

An important Neptune and/or 12th house between the two (synastry or composite)

4. They will share some or all of the same views and beliefs you have in life. They will have opinions that are aligned with yours. They will have the same long-term and short-term goals. If their goals are not exactly the same you will see similarities between theirs and yours.

That is an interesting one and it makes me think of the 2nd house and 2nd ruler. What do you think? have you noticed that in notable long-term couples? I will check this myself.

Also, I think here of the mirror aspects, as Ceri called them (what I called siamese aspects). A sense of recognition/similarity.

5. If you disagree or fight it will be strong and devastating. This is the part about twin flames I dislike the most. If you are with your twin flame and you do fight. It will be so devastating that it will effect people around you and may even cause extreme pain in you like nothing else. It may feel as though someone has died. Fights with twin souls do happen and when they do they are the worst of anything you have ever experienced.

An important Moon/Pluto, Pluto connection to a personal, comes to mind.

6. You meeting of this person will have meeting and symbolism. Don’t expect to find them on some dating site by emailing everyone on there. You may find them there, but it won’t be a simple meeting. It will be something you will remember and there will be something about your meeting that will flag a symbolism in your life. It could be on a special day or at a special place. It may be neither of the two. It could be that they fall right out of the sky when you least expect it.

Definitely the nodal, Vertex and angle connections we see so often in long-term romantic couples.
Also, a very strong FM chart, such as the mind-blowing one between my parents, with perfect all angles-vertex alignment.

7. You background story will contain lots of similarities and coincidences. You might have the exact same background or maybe not. You might just have a friend that is identical or maybe you lived within a certain distance at some point in time. It could be anything, pay close attention to the other person’s life story.

The similar aspects in both charts, by geometrical aspect or sign/house symbolism. Such as the same planet on an angle, not necessarily the same angle, similar or complementary life lessons (in fact, a bit similar, but also significantly complementary)

8. You will both complement each others abilities. Twin flames are part of the same soul. In that sense the other person will have the skill sets that you are missing. With both of you combined you become an unstoppable force.

Evidently the complementary, Yin/Yang and geometrically complementary aspects in synastry. DWs.

9. You will feel how they feel even when there are great distances between you. You will feel their pain and happiness at all times. Once you tune in you will have that feeling in your gut if something is going very good or if the other person is in pain. This can sometimes be mistaken for other things such as sickness, but once you begin to understand how it works you will know exactly how the other person is feeling.

Strong spiritual/psychic/empathic aspects in each natal chart: Neptune to Moon Mercury, Uranus, perhaps a strong Pluto. "Psychic" asteroids somehow angular, Psyche, Alma, strong Chiron heralding a major awakening in this life.
Important telepathic psychic connections in synastry activating the above.

10. You may have had dreams or visions about this person or how you would meet. Sometimes your mind will perceive things outside of the normal bounds of reality. You may have had a vision of exactly the person you met or you may have had a dream about how you would meet your twin flame.

The same as number 9. I'm also thinking here: major esoteric aspects, for 9 and 10, what do you think Ceri? Both in the natals and synastry.

11. They must feel the exact same way toward you.
Well, all of the above would lead to that and...DW!

Impatiently waiting for your input

The first image you see in the article is in fact, the alchemical Conjunctio.
http://www.philipcoppens.com/hierosgamos.html

One of the most intriguing, nebulous and controversial topics of history and magic is the “hieros gamos”, “the sacred marriage”. Believed to incorporate both sex and ritual, it should not come as a surprise that throughout history, it has attracted many – and often, those who should truly well stay clear of it. Its fame has meant that the theme was used by Dan Brown in “The Da Vinci Code”, where he described it as how “man could achieve a climactic instant when his mind went totally blank and he could see God”. Brown is not the only one who has linked the experience with tantrism and the withholding of orgasm. He is, of course, also the man who considered Mary Magdalene’s vulva to be the Holy Grail.

The quest to define the hieros gamos foremost is one of answering the question who and when it was performed. Some – including Dan Brown – link it to temple prostitution, while others see it as the king of the country who marries “the land” – in the form of a high priestess – to rejuvenate it. For the Greeks, it was more abstract. They considered it a marriage between the gods and hence apparently outside of the reach of ordinary human beings. It was only in the Jewish and medieval tradition that the hieros gamos became linked with magic and ritual and it is therefore here that we find the current obsession with it. As such, in 1605, Cesare della Riviera wrote that “in Europe, the tracks of these ancient rituals pass through the Gnostic schools, the alchemical and cabalistic currents of the Middle Ages and Renaissance – where numerous alchemical texts can be read on two levels.”

What is the hieros gamos? At its core, the sacred marriage is more of a sacrament than a ritual. It is a marriage between husband and wife, but is of a sacred nature: it is a marriage blessed by the gods, with active participation of those deities, present in the act of lovemaking between the two humans. Focusing on the king having sexual intercourse with the high priestess is thus largely a misnomer, as the king was equally a high priest, and the queen… a high priestess.
In the 20th century, Carl Gustav Jung studied the hieros gamos through the Rosarium Philosophorum, a series of twenty woodcuts, printed in Frankfurt in 1550. The images have a clear sexual and royal nature: a king and queen are depicted with the sun and the moon, sharing a bed, performing sexual acts, as a result of which they become one, and are transformed. And it is with these woodcuts that we come to the core of the hieros gamos: indeed, the primary purpose of the sacred marriage is that two equals, twin souls, a husband and wife, reunite through the hieros gamos. In short: the hieros gamos, or sacred marriage, was not a marriage of just any human beings, but of twin souls.

The concept of twin souls – more popularly known as soulmates – is as old as civilisation itself. Isis and Osiris were both sister and brother and husband and wife: twins. Rather than seeing this as an incestuous relationship, the ancient Egyptians were using this imagery to portray a complex metaphysical framework.
They – like so many other religions – believed that each human being possessed a soul. That soul was half of one unit, which consisted out of one male and one female half. This meant that for every human being alive, there was a perfect twin soul. The quest in this lifetime was to find that twin soul, and be reunited with it. This was the truest of loves; the greatest quest. If not the Great Work of Alchemy. The alchemist Nicolas Flamel stated that he was only able to accomplish the Great Work while in the presence of his wife Perenelle, but it was equally accepted that the majority of marriages here on earth, was not between twin souls.

Once the twin souls had found themselves, apart from understanding the true depths of love and kinship they shared throughout their many lifetimes together, the hieros gamos would be completed at some point. What was it? It was seen as God personally “attending” a sexual activity, in which the human beings – male and female – each get “infused” by the divine essence of the male and female component of God.
The best-known historical example of such a sacred marriage is between King Solomon and Queen Sheba. The story relates how the Queen of Sheba travelled from her homeland to meet Solomon, to perform the hieros gamos with him.
This story is discussed by Kathleen McGowan in her fact-based novel “Book of Love”. She relates that ancient traditions stipulate God had both a male and female aspect: El and Asherah. Tradition relates that they desired “to experience their great and divine love in a physical form and to share such blessedness with the children they would create. Each soul who was formed was perfectly matched, given a twin made from the same essence. […] Thus the hieros-gamos was created, the sacred marriage of trust and consciousness that unites the beloveds into one flesh.”

Echoes of the sacred marriage can be found in the Song of Songs, directly linked with Solomon and describing love making. The title highlights it was the holiest of all songs, underlining its importance. Margaret Starbird has pointed out that there are strong parallels between the Song of Songs and poems to the Egyptian goddess Isis. Of course, both Solomon and Sheba and Isis and Osiris were twin souls, and hence able to experience the hieros gamos.
The Song of Songs became very important for the Kabbalists, specifically following the Book of the Zohar, which saw the Song of Songs as a prime example of the hieros gamos. It is in the Zoharic Kabbalah that God is represented by a system of ten spheres, each symbolizing a different aspect of God, who is perceived as both male and female. The Shekina was identified with Malchut, which was identified with the woman in the Song of Songs. Her beloved was identified with Yesod, which represents God’s foundation and the phallus or male essence.
Within the Jewish religion, Malchut and Yesod are El, the fatherly creator god, and his consort, Asherah. He was identified with the bull and She with the mother goddess. Indeed, women who have experienced the hieros gamos note that they have experienced this mother goddess energy, some even mentally visiting some of her sanctuaries during the experience. The imagery also reveals how long our ancestors have been familiar with this sacred marriage: the link between the bull and the earth goddess is visible on the walls of Catal Huyuk, built in the 8th millennium BC.

The hieros gamos should therefore be more appropriately labelled the reunion of twin souls, while incarnate in the body, through sexual activity, involving the active participation of the male and female aspect of God: “What God has put together, let no man separate.”
Those who have experienced such union find it largely impossible to describe – “beyond words”. They are, however, capable of breaking down the experience in some components. The man will become one with El, while the female melts with Asherah, the “Queen of Heaven”. During this union, it is entirely possible that Asherah or El is more prominent in one partner than in the other. During these encounters, the sexual activity exceeds – and is different from – a normal orgasm; it is normally more intense, prolonged and multiple, whereby the orgasm itself is more energetic, rather than physical. However, the presence of this divine energy should not be seen as a form of possession; normally, the human sexual energy is equally present, and the sexual experience is a balance and interplay between both energies. To put it crudely: the hieros gamos is a foursome: two human beings, and El and Asherah operating with and through them.

Where does this leave the reputation of the hieros gamos as a form of temple prostitution? Asherah has been linked with the Mesopotamian Ishtar, whose cult did involve sacred prostitutes. However, should we perhaps see in these women initiatrices: women who prepared and taught certain methodologies as to how sacred sexuality should be experienced between partners, so that their union could lead to a sacred marriage?
Interestingly, the world’s oldest poem, “The Epic of Gilgamesh”, relates how when Gilgamesh discovers the wild man Enkidu, he sends him to Shamhat, a priestess of Ishtar. She was instructed to teach Enkidu how to live as a cultural human being, suggesting that our ancestors identified culture specifically with how to make love properly – the hieros gamos way.

These examples, and the example of Solomon and Sheba, make it clear that the quest of the hieros gamos is not open to anyone: it is only the bailiwick of twin souls. It is why Flamel noted that it was only possible to be performed with Perenelle, clearly not only his wife, but also his twin soul. It is also not so much ritual, but total union of body, mind and spirit: the two parts of one soul become united in the body, thus accomplishing in the body what they were at the beginning of time: a unity. The Great Work. And this union was “blessed” by the sacrament of the hieros gamos, in which God themselves, present at the separation of these souls at the beginning of time, reunited and blessed the two lovers.
So even though tantric yoga as such has nothing to do with it, tantrism does know about this state of perfect union and has labelled it Samadhi. It is the state where the respective individualities of each of the participants are completely dissolved in the unity of cosmic consciousness – the two units are reunited. For tantrics, the deities are not El and Asherah, but Shakti and Shiva.

Because it is “restricted” to twin souls, the hieros gamos might not hold the sexual and ritual appeal that many would like to give it. But it is nevertheless the most important sacrament of all, as it was the completion of the quest of the soul in life: to find his twin soul and reunite, and within this love, continue their life, combined.
People who have experienced the hieros gamos agree that this is a unique experience. One person stated that during the hieros gamos, both partners experienced total orgasm, though this was without any physical activity – through a physical connection, the other partner experienced perfectly the sexual stimulation the other person was sending in the mind – in short, the partners were both not only reading the other person’s mind, but interacted within that mind – as one unity of cosmic consciousness. Another person described it as “utter bliss” or what “heaven” must have felt like. The feeling of “heaven on earth” may indeed be what the hieros gamos was all about: the twin souls in heaven, experiencing their divine union on earth. As above, so below?

CONJUNCTIO

" Operation 4: Conjunction

The fourth ray of the Azoth points to the area at the top of the drawing where the right wing of the Ascended Essence touches the salamander wallowing in flames. The ray is marked with the single symbol for both copper and Venus and is usually colored green or yellow-green.

The fourth circle depicts the twin birds of soul and spirit leaving the earth together, lifting a five-spiked crown (the Fifth Element or Quintessence recovered from the preceding operations) into heaven or the realm of spirit. At this point in the Work, only the purest and most genuine parts of the substance to be transformed remain in the vessel. The goal of the Conjunction operation is to recombine these saved elements into a whole new incarnation. As the Emerald Tablet says of this stage, “Its nurse is the Earth,” and the alchemists felt they were working with the Element Earth during Conjunction.

Above this circle is inscribed the word Rectificando, which means “by rectification” or setting things right, and the wings of the Ascended Essence spread over this operation as if to bless it. It is truly a sacred process. The alchemists often referred to the Conjunction as the “Marriage of the Sun and Moon,” which symbolized the two opposing ways of knowing or experiencing the world. Solar consciousness is intellectual and relies on rational thought; lunar consciousness is feeling based and taps into non-rational sources of information like psychic impressions and intuition. After this Marriage of the Mind, the initiate experiences an increase in intuitive insight and the birth of Intelligence of the Heart. This newly found faculty produces a sense of reality superior to either thought or feeling alone.

Conjunction is more than a simple marriage however. It is actually an alchemical crucifixion in which the substance at hand (or the alchemist) is nailed (or fixed) on a cross between the Vertical Axis of reality and the Horizontal Axis of reality. In the vertical orientation, Conjunction is the attempted union of the forces of spirit Above and matter Below. As can been seen in the Azoth drawing, Conjunction is really a turning point from working with the first three operations Below (in matter) and working with the last three operations Above (in spirit).

In the horizontal orientation of left and right, the Conjunction is an attempt to balance the masculine consciousness of the King with the feminine consciousness of the Queen. As can be seen in the Azoth drawing, Conjunction marks balancing point between the forces of the Anima (Soul) on the alchemist’s right side to the forces of the Spiritus (Spirit) on the alchemist’s left side. In fact, it is the alchemical crucifixion at the center of the vertical and horizontal realities that makes Conjunction the most significant operation in alchemy.

Images of horizontal Conjunction include the fruitful earth, sexual intercourse, rams and satyrs, double-chambered furnaces (athanors), glue or tape binding opposing entities, two streams coming together in one stream, Janus or double-faced people, people wearing crowns, and the hermaphrodite, Often engravings show the King and Queen in reconciliation at this stage, with Hermes (or Mercury) joining them an embrace or handshake. In some of these drawings, Hermes is shown with a wry smile or even with two faces. This is a subtle revelation that the Conjunction is really a good-natured ruse by the notorious trickster, who knows that both the King and Queen must die or sacrifice their identities in the marriage to produce the Child of the Philosophers, which is all Hermes really cares about.

Images of the vertical Conjunction include the Ladder of the Planets, seven stars on an object inclined upwards, and rainbows (the seven colors in harmony). Other images are a white bird descending into flames, a bird chained to an earthbound animal, the Red Lion partly disappearing into a sphere, or stylized representations of the union of Fire and Water. Carl Jung suggested that angels coming down from heaven and the landing of UFOs were also images of vertical Conjunction, in the obvious sense of the union between the powers Above with the powers Below.

In the laboratory, the operation of Conjunction is the recombination of the saved elements from Separation into a new substance. Often this was a forced marriage done by fusing or amalgamating metals or by mixing saved components in a new chemical reaction by the addition of a temporary mediator such as an acid or a catalyst.

Physiologically, Conjunction is using the body’s sexual energies for personal transformation. Conjunction takes place in the body at the level of the Heart or Copper Chakra. On the planetary level, Conjunction occurs when primordial life forms are created from the energy of the Sun or lightning.

Psychologically, Conjunction is empowerment of our true selves, the union of both the masculine and feminine sides of our personalities into a new belief system or an intuitive state of consciousness. The alchemists referred to it as the Lesser Stone, and after it is achieved, the adept is able to clearly discern what needs to be done to achieve lasting enlightenment. Often synchronicities begin to occur at this stage that confirm the alchemist is on the right track in his or her personal transformation. In society, it is the growth of crafts and technology to master the environment. "

Has any of you any experience (in dreams or otherwise) with these symbols?

And a friend of mine shared that dream, just from a third person kind of view?

I don't know what this is, but I have to share. Two men interested in me romantically. I'm not a twin, but I'm thinking they might be. I only remember the most recent man's bday, so...

7 years ago I met and dated a man twice my age. I was 28. He was about 60. He was a crazy ol' cowboy who used to howl at the moon and in strips clubs, frightening the other patrons to death. His name was Dave. I escaped Dave, maybe 5 or 6 years ago, only to run into his younger version, Dave, who is now 46. Let me tell you about these two. Is this anything or am I just taking my life to seriously- lol.

Both Dave are country boys, so a lot of what they have in common they also have in common with a lot of other men around here, but there is also the feel of them. I'll get back to that...

Both Daves have no less than 20 guns, and they place them strategically around their houses. Both Daves are bird watchers. They have bird feeders, and the level of excitement in the room just goes up 100 notches when a hummingbird flies by. Both Daves have gardens and prized rose bushes. Prized Rose Bushes. Cowboy Dave used to be outside with his .45 in its holster, all dressed in black, serenading his rose bushes while he watered them. Both Daves work with glass. Older Dave used to work with glass, younger Dave still does. Younger Dave complains about glass getting stuck in his eyes, and says he needs someone to pull it out. I tell him Cowboy Dave could do it (because he told me he used to have to pull glass out of his own eyes :P), and younger Dave says, "he's the only one I would trust". They have never met, but I've been telling younger Dave about Cowboy Dave.

Both Daves are heavy cigarette smokers and big time kush dealers. Cowboy Dave suffered from emphysema and I can see that younger Dave is headed down that path

Wherever their moon is, it has to be in the same sign, because it annoys the hell out of me in exactly the same way. They both fell deeply in love with me (and the pull for them seems to be me as a mother...), and started planning our future. They lecture/d me about my choices, and what they can/would do for me. They both offered me their land as my inheritance, assuming they would die first...They are/were both whiners. Super mean to everyone else. Men are afraid of them, but total push overs, so you have to make sure you aren't taking advantage. I made mistakes with Cowboy Dave that I will not make with younger Dave. I wasn't clear enough with Cowboy.

Oh! Cowboy got me my first chickens. I never asked for chickens. He just knew I'm a wannabe homesteader, so he got me started with these chicks that I loved. We raised them for 4 years, then our rooster died, and raccoons got my hens. Well, I never mentioned my plans to have chickens this spring, but younger Dave just told me he bought some chicks for me. Again "Dave" has gotten my chicken operation going!

Also, there was this other thing that occured in my life where for for 2 years almost every man I met was named Dave. This was during Cowboy Dave's time. What is this? Does this sound like twin/soul something. Sorry for being lazy in my speech.

ha ha Vajra, yes eerie is the word. When I find out they share yet another similarity, I just laugh and explain later.

Also, there was this other thing that occurred in my life where for for 2 years almost every man I met was named Dave. This was during Cowboy Dave's time

It's also so funny the effect the name Dave has on me. Every time I meet a Dave I automatically wonder who he will be in my life, what he represents. There's so much going on in my head when I meet a Dave, it's become awkward, always.

This reminds me that the first Biblical prophet I loved was King David (my religion considers David a prophet and not just a King. I am not sure if he and Solomon are considered prophets in Christianity. I'm pretty sure only Samuel is considered a prophet during that time. Anyway...)

Well, if we're sharing photos of our folks, here are mine. They are Twins. It's always pushed me to seek a 'higher love', you might say.

They have always been my model in relationships. Leaving them here for a little while

What era are your parents from, Lee? They look so svelte! Your mother looks as if she could be a subject from a Waterhouse painting, too. Your father, I can see, running a fancy card room.

Born in 39 and 48, and here we have something around 1970.

I know this photo of your parents and they are lovely. Is your dad wearing an apron or something? what is that interesting thing he's wearing?
