I forgot where this was before, but I wanted to revive it.

Here's my cent and a half for the day:

Today was a fantabulous day because...
...I danced my white-girl-with-no-rythym-dance through my house and on my porch while listening to Dave Matthews and eating a fistful of strawberries (frightening an old man in the process), and then blasted Beethoven and allowed myself to be completely overtaken by the sight of the gnarled branches of an Oak (I think) directly in front of my townhouse.
The leaves danced to "Pathetique" against a baby blue sky with cherry-vanilla clouds.
Then I went walking in the woods barefoot til and past when my feet got chilled; I heard a morning dove, and the scant stand of trees was a verdant forest.

I spent the entire day hanging out with some friends, one of whom I'm secretly in love with! Then I came home and decided deliberately not to do homework. I'll take an evening walk in the woods next.

Good news all around!!!

juniperb - What's the vet had to say? Diagnosis clear?
QoS - Homework is entirely overrated.
Shamrock - What service is she with?

And my day's already great b/c I finally found this:

It's full of my handwritten record of a lot of family recipes + some random ones that looked good.
Now I can make a variation on my Grandmommy's Pecan Pie for the last day of one of my classes tomorrow

My day was fabulous because my baby boy and I shared a few giggles with each other and after that he gave me a big sloppy open-mouthed kiss on my cheek and chin. I love hearing him laugh!!!!!! It's the best sound in the entire world. Also my husband came home early today and gave me a big hug!!

Love and Peace,
Sunmeadow Glades.

D - Yep, sure is; would you like it?

Today was (is so far) a fabulous day because I woke up remembering a really intricate, involved dream (or two).

(later) AND I saw a Luna moth ( ) on campus.
...today, however, was not so fantabulous b/c my Pluto very nearly came out to play.

Today's been a great day because we found out at the Dr.'s this morning that my daughter's bloodwork and cat scan do NOT indicate cancer. She still needs surgery and the final verdict won't come in until the pathology is done...but the Dr. today did say he does NOT think it's cancer. Thank God!! Am feeling real hope now.

Woo-hoo, TL!!!

The pathology WILL turn up negative (that is to say, in a positive way ).

*doesn't have a picture*

But, I looked on-line, and the one that I saw looked like a cross between these two:

But mine was 10x cooler - the surrounding clouds were rippling, and I could see the beginning of spin.

Was that the same tornado that caused all that destruction and 37 people lost their lives? We had reports of it on our news here.

Love and Peace,

Nope; no destruction on this end (although Maryland's poor Eastern Shore is still twitchy from last year's F-5).
Those were out in the midwest - http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/3005761.stm
That's from Tuesday; they've been getting them like that all week. These links are more recent:http://www.wusatv9.com:8080/news/news_article.asp?storyid=18037 http://www.wusatv9.com:8080/news/news_article.asp?storyid=18063

So far, we've just had hintings of those; like I said, I saw a wall cloud; the day before yesterday, my Mom saw 2 different funnel clouds that didn't touch down on her drive home from work. We had storms again today; the thunder was so fierce that it shook my windows. I haven't been watching the news, so anything may have happened. Op, just checked the website: severe thunderstorms currently in southern VA

THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM IS CAPABLE OF PRODUCING
HAIL UP TO THE SIZE OF NICKELS.
WINDS UP TO 60 MILES AN HOUR.
VERY FREQUENT AND DEADLY CLOUD-TO-GROUND LIGHTNING.

They say that there's going to be strong storms again this weekend.

(I'm not sure why I posted that much; I don't think that anyone's that curious. Oh, well.)

It's been a busy week; I think Cat may have been right re: Mars & tornados. Our local weather guy said that there had been more tornados spawned in the past week then there had been in that time span in recorded history (well, as far back as weather records have been kept).

Do ya'll get tornados out in Australia?

------------
Oh, and today was a fantabulous day because the birds were really loud this morning, and there was a hint of mist atop the trees.

Sunmeadow Glades, that was wonderful, your baby and you sharing something like that! Só swéét! I almost got tears in my eyes! Bless ya!

And Twin lady I am so relieved for you and here's another for you to keep you going on this path!

My day (yesterday) was wonderful because my luv and I got to put legs under our sleeping isle (that's how we call our bed and we got it for free) and we laughed a lot. Got to lay in the sun on the grass near the water and carress each other and drank one beer on a terrace with a huge amount of flying buggers around us . They make me laugh, where do they come from, those little flies? And where are they going?

Prox: this is one of the greatest topics! Very good for one to see how blessed we actually are day in day out!

Yes Proxieme I would LOOOOOVE that buttermilk pie recipe! YUM!

Today is a great day because before I began cooking for my mom's day meal, I got to take a lazy walk in the sun to the beach and the sun, sand and people just made me feel really lucky to be there and then. Also, the dinner came out great, and speaking of food, think I'll help myself to slice number three of the keylime pie I made

Namaste!

Here's a few variations, but my fave is Kentucky Bourbon Chocolate Chip Pecan Pie... <drool> Please mail me your experiments, I'm open-minded.
http://www.recipegal.com/pies/Classic-Pecan-Pie.htm

quote:
Classic Pecan Pie

3 eggs slightly beaten
1 cup sugar
1 cup KARO light or dark corn syrup
2 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
1 teaspoon vanilla
1-1/4 cups pecans
1 unbaked (9-inch) pie crust

Preheat oven to 350'F.
In medium bowl with fork, beat eggs slightly. Add sugar, corn syrup, butter and vanilla; stir until well blended. Stir in pecans. Pour into pie crust.
Bake 50 to 55 minutes or until knife inserted halfway between center and edge comes out clean. Cool on wire rack. Makes 8 servings.

Variations:

Butterscotch Pecan Pie
Omit butter or margarine; add 1/4 cup heavy or whipping cream to filling.

Kentucky Bourbon Chocolate Chip Pecan Pie

Toffee Crunch Pecan Pie
Sprinkle 1/2 cup chopped chocolate covered toffee candy bars (about 4 oz) over bottom of pie crust. Carefully pour filling over back of spoon into pie crust.

Mocha Almond Fudge Pie
Substitute 1 cup sliced almonds for pecans. Melt 2 ounces semisweet chocolate and 1 tablespoon instant coffee or espresso with margarine.

Chocolate Chip Walnut Pie
Substitute 1 cup walnuts, coarsely chopped, for pecans. Sprinkle 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips over bottom of pie crust. Carefully pour filling into pie crust.

Chocolate Pecan Pie
Melt 2 ounces semisweet chocolate with butter.

Cinnamon Walnut Pie
Substitute 1 cup packed light brown sugar for sugar and 1 1/4 cups walnuts for pecans. Add 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon to filling.
