I still have all my reasoning abilities even when I'm loaded. Must be that unwavering Aquarius rationalizing ability. Even when I was in high school and did the occasional magic mushrooms or something, I always ended up "babysitting" my friends, who would TOTALLY lose touch with reality. I was usually able to at least REMEMBER how things work in reality. IP: Logged
moondust unregistered	posted July 02, 2003 01:34 AM I won't argue with the idea that water signs are apt to drink themselves to death or become heavily addicted to drugs, but with many of my planets in scorpio, I have never touched drugs or even smoked a cigarette. I do socially drink in moderation but have never gotten drunk. I have a fear of looking foolish, it's that control thing again. My doctor suggested anti-depressants when I went through my divorce, but I refused and insisted I would do it the natural way and deal with the feelings. I'm not judging the people who do use them, but I never wanted to. I'm friends with another scorpio and he has also never touched drugs (we're both in our late 20's) and he doesn't drink often, either. Whereas, my ex-husband, who is a cancer, was heavily into drugs before I met him and has resumed since our divorce. I found Sagittarius to be escapists. I know quite a few who can't deal with their emotions, or choose not to. Nothing wrong with that, though. I wish I could allow myself to escape every now and then. But, then again, I might lose control. IP: Logged

I can only tell you my frame of referrence, realizing that there are no absolutes, everything is a variable. I don't know all that many people, so my frame of referrence isn't that wide. IP: Logged
moondust unregistered	posted July 02, 2003 02:36 AM "I become Dear Abbey..." I didn't mean to contradict you, after all, I left out all the scorpios I do know that are alcoholics! Of course, I failed to mention the aquas, cappies, geminis, etc.. I think it's all about being self-aware. The scorpio friend and I have discussed why we don't drink much or get involved w/ drugs and it's because we know, as scorpios, we get addicted easily to substances. This is where the knowledge of astrology comes into play! I also met a Pisces last weekend who said the same thing. He feels weak, therefore, will never try it. We're also probably the 3 saddest tomatoes around! IP: Logged
sthenri unregistered	posted July 02, 2003 12:10 PM moondust, I know many who have that feeling, of self control. Scorpios have fantastic self control, some Leos too. I can go without, I am very much like a Scorp in that way, and my Cancer ascendant friend becomes so miserable, I feel druink when he's around. Like him, I only drink when I am already miserable so I only get more so. It can easily be a lifestyle, pity party! Drugs have no appeal for me, they are expensive and people always have money for drugs and not enough for dinner. As someone once said, in some parts of town if you can't afford food, you can get drugs for free. I feel drunk sometimes and if I am around anyone on anything, I feel that too. I once had a date with a boy as a teenager who couldn't afford my ticket to the movies but had enough for pot, that made PO'ed. It's a pride thing, I like being more in control, but if I drink watch out. My Cancer Moon comes out, WAAAAAAA, POOOR MEEEEE! Me and the Pisces get together and cry. I don't mind a few drinks but with my Neptune in the 12th house and my Grand Water Trine, that spells Trouble, so I usually drink with close friends only. Natasha IP: Logged

It's not so good for your lungs either. I think everyone is on something at some time or another, alcohol, nicotine and coffee are drugs too. It depends on how well you feel about yourself after you are back to normal. Lost Leo it's your life, no one can tell you what to smoke or not to smoke. They like to keep both feet firmly planted on good ol' terra firma. And the Cardinal signs usually pass as well, because they need to be able to take charge at the spur of the moment. Gemini's are afraid to miss anything, so they avoid it for the most part. (I rarely see a Gem even get drunk! They and the Virgo's are usually the tea-totallers) Biggest partiers....Leos, Scorps, Sagittarians, Pisces (although they prefer private parties of 3 or less), and Aquarians. The Bulls like to drink, but they stay away from the other stuff, mostly. Aquarians are social junkies (I mean addicted to the social aspect of the party, not so much the intoxication) And that's just my "spin" IP: Logged

Responsibilities always come first. Financially and just in general. Scorpios can do anything they set their minds to, so dropping a bad habit is nothing for them. when they choose to.
