Lalalinda is the Mod I admire most. Find a Mod you admire and she how she/he does things.I have never seen a person lose being a Mod. Randall is a natural mentor and will help you gain wisdom and maturity, which is really what you are talking about. You will screw up, though. Learning to screw up and go on, is a huge part of learning maturity, ------------------ Passion, Lust, Desire. Check out my journal http://www.mychristianpsychic.com/

"God is Love" means something along these lines to me:Ode 314 Those who don't feel this Love pulling them like a river, those who don't drink dawn like a cup of spring water or take in sunset like supper, those who don't want to change, let them sleep. This Love is beyond the study of theology, that old trickery and hypocrisy. If you want to improve your mind that way, sleep on. I've given up on my brain. I've torn the cloth to shreds and thrown it away. If you're not completely naked, wrap your beautiful robe of words around you, and sleep. -Rumi From: "Like This, Rumi; Coleman Barks, Maypop Books http://www.rumilovepoems.com/rumi_lovepoems_3.htm

Arent you the one who says she does two hours of Kundalini Yoga every morning (as you have said here on the forums many times before) and suggested it's benefits to other people? Giving that up now? IP: Logged |

No, why should I I do it for the exercise, not the spirituality behind it, as it does have one. I know.

First of all, I never said there was anything "weird" about it. Just.........ah well, nevermind. No use bothering. You did remind me of this great quote though: “Going to church doesn’t make you a Christian any more than going to a garage makes you an automobile.” chew on that one. IP: Logged |

dear, sweet, RPi understand your revulsion at bickering and rude wordslinging. however there are a lot of differing opinions on the OP/title of this thread, religion is a touchy subject to discuss since so many people consider theirs the ONLY one... i don't know if you were referring to me, but i don't believe i have been rude or uncivil here, just questioning statements that to me are confusing at the least, and dogmatic at the worst...while i realize people get very attached to their views on religion, by the very title of this thread i, for one, would expect more acceptance of varied views. while i did MENTION gu, it was only as a lighthearted reference to prophecy. no interest in bringing it here! i also believe that god is love, though i do not believe in the personified sort of god defined by christianity..nor the personal sort of love that is implied. my sense is that god is everything, and allows a multitude of paths to "enlightenment" for lack of a better word. paramahansa yoga was so close to christlike one has to wonder if christians aren't missing out on something profound. @ ami i am so far from believing that christ is the "only way to everlasting life" ... having had experiences and read/received teachings since childhood that have made it very obvious that everlasting life is INESCAPABLE, not something difficult to achieve and to be strived for.the first of these experiences involved two dogs, one dead, one not yet born. i doubt if either of them ever heard of christ (though one was an irish terrier!) but they taught me firsthand that life goes on and the veil between the worlds is mighty thin. Yes, I agree but the Bible says to test the spirits. Just because one has a supernatural experience does not mean it is from God. There are two spiritual forces out there---Light and Dark. ------------------ Passion, Lust, Desire. Check out my journal http://www.mychristianpsychic.com/

I wasn't referring to you personally, Kat. Sorry if it came off that way.
My personal opinion is that I'd like threads to stick to the topic (within reason/allowing for natural meandering). It's normal not to agree. What upsets me, though, is how it is expressed sometimes. It's the tone and how it gets personal sometimes that upsets me. The fact that people disagree is normal. I just don't like it when threads get widely derailed in such a way that makes it an all-out battlefield. I guess what I prefer is a sort of image of two people debating civilly over coffee, as opposed to more abrasive conflict that has a lot of bad energy.
