Disgusting. On the father and the other man's part. Though I still keep in mind that maybe it was another man that saved her from that fate. I have more faith in the opposite sex than that.

This kind of thing still goes on in this day and age. We in the western world often forget about it.[/B]

There are cases even more terrible than this.

The state woman are at the middle east is a shame to humanity as a whole for doing and allowing such things to happen

He has made many of these types of threads before, so it's just one more opportunity to b*tch.

Regardless of the past, he has said many controversial things (like the 'no legitimate gripe' thing I said before), and a lot of what he wrote about wasn't even a gender issue. He framed it as a gender issue (comparing men's issues to women's issues), but it was really an economic issue. Why frame it like a gender issue, then? So, he went from saying men's issues should be taken seriously, to saying women don't have 'legitimate gripes', to talking about an economic issue. I'd argue that's remarkably INconsistent.

You say I haven't been focusing on his main message, which you say wasn't sexist. HOwever, he followed his original statement with disrespectful comments. You expect me to not to respond to those, or point out any logical inconsistencies? I don't get why you're so hung up on his first point, that you suggest I ignore his second, third, fourth, fifth, etc.. point?

I had a different reading of what DoomLord said. I thought he was implying that we're not given enough credit and are often disrespected despite the fact that we are 'good' enough to reach the same level? Perhaps they can clarify?

You got the idea

Woman get the short end of the stick while not being any different in their work or skill.

An example, i seek a career in psychology which is a female-dominant field here.

After the long, hard 7-8 years path in which you end up being a psychologist woman start with low salaries (which is a problem when you want normal life) while men start from avarage salaries.

Yet there is no reason for this....sad really...

That's false as many here can attest. And please tell us all how often YOU budge since you wish to bring it up.

In general, Faith, I don't think you're a great debator. I think that virtually everything you post fits your mindset without looking at the big picture. You're the biggest self-congratulator I see here.

I suspect that Aquaguy's locale has a lot to do with his viewpoints. I can almost guarantee that rape is higher where he lives, and therefore women might be more on edge than if they lived elsewhere.

quote:
My friend that I quoted was a bit like you when he was younger, but he learned to let a lot of stuff go and is happier for it.
He'll still stand up against injustice and can call someone on bs better than almost anyone else I know, but he's learned to moderate himself, to listen to others and begin true dialogues rather than state his position ad infinitum.

I think you'll get there, too, and you'll be a better advocate for your positions (many of which are valid).

I also think he'll be better when he's older.

quote:
And his comment about women crapping out babies just shows he has a marked lack of consideration towards women. I'm not even a woman and I found that offensive.

Understand Aquarius.

quote:
Even...the d-word...is often half-praise, and saying that someone has...testes...is nearly always positive.
Calling someone a p-word or c-word does not.

I don't generally see it as praise. It could be...maybe in a regional sense, but it's generally derogatory. Yeah, testes are generally positive, that's true. Yeah, the 'd' word isn't as bad as the 'pu' or 'c' word. I agree with that.
I also agree that it's a strange thing overall.

quote:
I mean...crap out a baby?
C'mon, man - that's not going to build bridges

^^Understands Aquarius

quote:
I have been trying to understand aquaguy91.

I believe it.

quote:
However each time he makes a crude remark like that I think what screwed his head and heart up so damn bad?

I think it's Tennessee.

quote:
He goes off half cocked anyhow or ignores things in his favor.
I do not think he is paying 100% attention.

You're very likely correct. That's not unlike a young Aquarius.

quote:
Explain how it was poorly constructed.

Why? So you can ignore it like usual, because you'll allow nothing to penetrate your mindset that would inconvenience that mindset?

quote:
Because Dick is a guy's name. It's relatively harmless. Like calling a girl a Betty.

That is dumb. By and large, Richards don't call themselves Dick anymore.
We're talking about when a person gets called a dick. It is as harmless as calling anyone else by a genital's name. (It means virtually nothing to the person willing to ignore it.) The whole notion is ridiculous, but that doesn't stop some genital names from seeming worse than other genital's names.

quote:
Just out of curiosity, how are men made to feel guilty about it?

Are you referring to how women are cautious?

I believe he is. I agree with your point. He shouldn't be made to guilty for other men's sins. That is the plight of a young man dealing with hesitant women, though. The women are legitimately guarded, and the young man doesn't know how to go about proving he's not one of those kinds of guys.

Thanks. Yeah, I fear that here lately I'm not really revealing all of my personality. Being in these debates only tends to show one aspect. I am a long time member here, though, and there are thousands of posts that show me in more totality.

Sorry AG! I didn't realize they were out of orb.

And I was just kidding about winning, sheesh!

quote:
In general, Faith, I don't think you're a great debator.

You're the one who defended aquaguy's 30+ posts or so at once, before doing any kind of "background check" on him. You didn't even know what you were talking about.

quote:
And please tell us all how often YOU budge since you wish to bring it up.

I don't usually budge for you, but I have for aquaguy...and many others.

quote:
Why? So you can ignore it like usual, because you'll allow nothing to penetrate your mindset that would inconvenience that mindset?

No, to prove you can. So you don't just get to allege I constructed something poorly without back up.

quote:
That is dumb. By and large, Richards don't call themselves Dick anymore.

Point is d is less profane than c, since you can say the D word in a harmless context in public, but never the c word.

I dont think people are equal. Some women are more valuable than men. Vice versa. Take aquaguy for example say he be auctioned to the ladies of lindaland how much would he fetch?

People are never equal dear

But the theme here is that man and woman should not be discriminated by their gender (or any other bias btw)

I know. Yes, shameful all around.

I wonder what would happen to the women, mothers who stood up, spoke up and tried to defend and protect (not to excuse them, but at this point, maybe many of them don't really know any better because of the way they were raised/brainwashed since birth or are simply too fearful of the repurcussions? and have been beat into submission already?)

murder, rape, torture? A combonation of all of them? Does a mother have many options or choices over there? Any hope of escape?

..... I can only imagine how painful it would be not to be able to feel like you had the ability to protect your own child that you gave birth to. That alone is torture.....for the rest of your life and maybe more to come.

I think the bids would depend on how much plaid he's wearing on the auction stand, and whether or not the auctioneer gave him the mike and asked him about the suffragettes first.

I can't even imagine it. I start trying to put myself in another mother's position, when her children are suffering or have suffered, and I start getting physically sick. I mean I am just so grateful my own kids are okay, and all I want in life is for them to remain okay.

Yeah, pretty unimaginable and I'm not even a mom. I know i'd not be able to come back from some sick scenario like that though. Put a fork in me. I'd be done. Would not be able to be quiet about it or let my daughter be sold off for any reason especially to some dirty old man. I'd die first.

I know the child bride issue is something we don't hear enough about over here. Instead we have the msm feeding us a bunch of bs to keep our minds occupied on 'other things'.

Should we, as women just shut up now?

btw, my earlier post was posted when the site was surging and i tried to edit something in to add twice, and now the post reads more like a bit of a jumbled mess, but i trust you got the point.

it's clear enough. not going to try and edit it more now. it's fine enough the way it is.
