's Where are all of you? I have been off for a while because I got a new computer, but I haven't seen any posts for awhile. Did I offend someone? I hope not and send sincere apologies if I did. I am becoming worried. Please let me know if all of you are well.

Not to worry, friend....I am fine....and I think juni is too...sometimes we just take "long rests."

...and you certainly haven't offended anyone...don't be a silly billy....good to see you back....

My brain is in "regroup mode" at the time, so this will be short....

I'll probabably come back further down the line chattering so much that you can't shut me up....but for now my brain is in neutral...

Luv,
Rainbow

Thanks for the answer. Sometimes I overreact. I was worried about you guys, especially in light of all that is happening all around the country. For now, have a good rest, later.

I hope that everyone had a good Thanksgiving. We did and had almost the whole family. I have news to relate; it seems that my middle daughter may be seriously considering marriage. She has been dating one of my coworkers. I couldn't be happier for her.
Have you noticed that the tide of public opinion seems to be turning against the war in Iraq? MSR said that we would get tired of saving everyone else from their mistakes. I think we are seeing the beginning of that time.
I seem to have nothing else to say right now. It would be nice to see someone write on here again. For tonight....

Hi Bob....glad you had a great Thanksgiving....

Our family did too...

Had my three sons, two grandchildren, and brother and sister here for a two day Thanksgiving celebration. I'm Afraid we over-indulged decadantly in all the goodies at our table...

But *sigh* - heck. It's Thanksgiving..

Thanks for sharing about your daughter....I wish her happiness...

Yes, the war is becoming more and more unpopular...people are waking up....*sigh*

I read the two MSR books that I bought....have only one problem with them...

The books, while very interesting, and enlightening, just kinda threw me for a loop because of the way MSR said that "No Eyes" spoke....i.e. "Me no want eat...me not hungry."

I have never heard any Native American talk that way, (except Tonto and other "movie Indians" of the era)...so I felt kind of uncomfortable with it....

My father who was a full blood died 10 years ago and he was eighty at the time. So it was many years ago when I as a little girl remember his aunts and uncles who were my great aunts and uncles...and while some of them spoke no English at all, those who did never used that "movie-Indian speak."

Had No Eyes been presented as a gypsy type lady, or some wise old rural lady of European descent, from the hills, I would have felt more comfortable with it....

It's just that there's no way that I could relate to No Eyes as a fellow Native American.

I am one, and I've known many, many, many thru-out the years....not just locally, but from all over...and while tribes across America can differ in languages, and religious ceremonies, there is still a "common bond" among us, that is just automataically FELT (instinct, perhaps) upon meeting a new fellow "nishnob" for the first time. There is a certain familiarity. We just KNOW that we are connected...and the nuances are so subtle that it's a difficult thing to put into words...but trust me - one just KNOWS.....

....and even tho No Eyes, appeared to be a very wise lady, with lots of spiritually enlightening lessons for MSR, I just can't feel the "Native American" connection with her....and that bothers me...

I wish I could be more positive about that, because I know how very much the MSR books mean to you, and please don't think I'm being doubful about the important information in the book. I think it's very important information. And I'm sure Mary Summer Rain truly came upon it some way....but - *sigh* - somehow, I just can't feel a Native American kinship with No eyes...*sigh* Sorry.

Love,
Rainbow

Rainbow, my friend, don't apologize for the way you feel. As one who is a small part Native American, I know how to trust my feelings and instincts. I wondered about the language my self for a while, then I just assumed that the editor thought that it would be more "realistic" and ignored the fractured english. After all, the message is what's important.
I am glad thatyour holiday was a happy event. We also had a tiring but enjoyable time. In case I forget later, have a peaceful and joyous Christmas. For you...

's; To all of you: may you have a year full of everything that you want and need. as I write this today, at 12:05AM, I am thinking of the past year. My heart goes out to the people from the hurricane ravaged areas of the U.S. and I pray for those affected by wildfire and floods. To all of us who read and share here, I want to say, please get ready for 2006. I have had some feelings that we are in for a wild ride and some of my sensitive friends feel the same way. I wouldn't get too worried, but I would tell any of my friends or relatives to move away from the coastal areas, That goes for all of you too.
Enough of that. I love all of you guys. Happy New Year and, some of you write soon. I feel like I am alone here. By the way, I saw the movie "Snow Dogs" tonight. If you haven't seen it, do, you will love it. For now, to all of you.............

, it is so good to "see" you again. My holiday was wonderful, my father was with us for the first time in twenty years. That is a story for another time, but he met the great granddaughters for the first time. We had a ball.
How are you? I trust that all is well for the present. I do hope that our other friends are ok also, I haven't heard from anyone for some time.
As for the other thing, don't worry about it. I always question anything that I didn't see personally. Like I said, sometimes people think that packaging makes something saleable, even if it could stand by itself. The makeup industry lives by that concept. I have a feeling that most of us who post here are a lot alike in how we look at life and our fellow humans.
I guess that's about it for now.

's; I just realized that none of us have been here for a long time. I realize that we are all busy and that is all right. I just wanted to share my excitement about a new development. Our oldest son and his daughter have come home. They finally moved to Va. from Hawaii after 18 years. We are just as pleased as we can be. We now have the whole family living in the area. I think that is so important in these times. Patrick even said that he just felt compelled to return. Doesn't the Great Spirit move in ways that are wonderful? I guess that's all for now. How goes it with all of you, my friends? As ever...

I LOVE having my family near me too...

Two of my sons live in the same area as me and the other is over one hundred miles away...but still in Michigan...

As for me - I'm okay...

I hope juni is okay too, I haven't seen her here for awhile...*sigh*

's I guess you heard right, we both called. It is good to "see" you both again. It has been a long winter for me also, but now, it is time to be reborn and prepare for the new season. Juni; your signature reminds me of a Wiccan saying: "Hand to hand, we cast the circle." thus life continues every Spring. I love both of you and look forward to a new season of sharing here. May you be at peace, and, as always.....

From juni...

quote:
Have fun Rainbow! Teenagers reminds us of why women of our years earned the right to be Grandmoms. Love em,enjoy em & send them home to Mom.

In most cases, that's true juni,(take my sister Kathy for example with 10 grandchildren and one great grandchild), but in this case I'm not that anxious to ship him out so soon.........cuz I see too little of him already, and gosh, it's hard to believe he's 14 already. To me, he will always be "little Nicholas,"
the wee one to whom I used to read "bedtime stories" and/or rock to sleep...*sigh*

The past few months, Nick has been living with Dad (my son Rob), so he will going home to "Dad" next week, (instead of Mom...)....his mom now lives in Georgia, and he will be visiting her for a time this summer..

...and juni further says....

quote:
.....Old man winter give us a slap but I feel Blessed considering the weathers destructive forces down south. Prayers going to the families suffering losses tonight.

Oh yes juni...and my prayers of thankfulness to our Creator for keeping my other grandchild Tianna safe and sound.......She lives near Memphis with her mom, just south of where the deadly tornadoes occured in Tennessee....*sigh*

I'm so looking forward to her visit with "mima" (that's me ), this summer....

Nice seeing both you and Bob here...(and maybe eventually in person face to face, huh juni????? When? Where? Soon, I hope...)

Love,
Rainbow

Greetings weeseldad! I will add the instructions for the UBB code.

To add a graphic within your message, just encase the URL of the graphic image as shown in the following example [IMG]puturladdyhere[/IMG]

In the example above, the UBB Code automatically makes the graphic visible in your message. Note: the "http://" part of the URL is REQUIRED for the [img] code. Also note: some UBB forums may disable the [img] tag support to prevent objectionable images from being viewed.

The URL of the jpeg can be obtained by right clicking on it,selecting properties. I am anxious to see what you have to share!

I hope this works. It is supposed to be a picture of the twin towers and clouds, a memorial picture. If not, I'll try to figure it out later.
