And anyway every man and his dog listened to AC/DC when I was growing up. I like AC/DC but when the neighbours play it all night and so loud that each weekend my parents had to call the cops, it can be a bit hard to take in large doses.

Bon had a sense of humour.

Duran were "pretty boys". There was a lot of that in the 80s. Look at Rob Lowe and all of that gang - they were all "pretty". Not much into that. Though, I like some Duran Duran music.

I was slow to get into U2 and then did so with absolute passion.

I just don't get the Bryan Adams thing. Maybe I should look at the synastry.

Actually, I think I'll look at synastry with Adam Clayton. Dig deeper in that "something". He's got quirk.

bm

I think you like quirk too. We seem to have similar tastes in men. Not necessarily in individuals - though yes with that too - Christian, Colin, Sean - but also just in what we find masculine. My husband is a welder by trade. Thought that would appeal to you - makes him sound handy around the house. He has his moments. Infrequent as they are. There's a lightbulb that has needed changing for over three years now. When he needs that light it'll get changed then. Until such time..............

The thing with the group is that their distinct sound is their undoing. My GF is a Industrial Rock/ Metal enthusiast and her album collection if filled with enough groups to tear my eardrums apart Lol! But nothing really prepared me for AC/DC's live rendition of "You Shook Me All Night Long."

GN-T looks too plasticised to me.

It's hard to tell when they've had "retouching" because they can manipulate the features.

Hey - we can make a song for her - like TNT by AC/DC, except "she's GNT - like dynamite".

I'm glad you're feeling better. I am too. Kids paracetemol - wonderful stuff. I don't normally take drugs - has to be serious. Good pick me up this stuff - the raspberry Panadol.

I've noticed that new musical breakthroughs tend to occur when Uranus changes signs. Uranus changed signs in 1975 --> disco and punk and then in 1982 I think, so the transformation to New Romantic was complete. Also Saturn was in Libra around 1982-3 when New Romantic gain commercial foothold hence all the prettiness.

Still it's interesting to think how something like DD came out of Birm. The scene was obviously big in London but how a scene simultaneously and independently developed in an industrial place like Birm is interesting.

X - does she like Helmet? I still love my old Helmet records. Heavier than lead.

PA - I think she's changed a lot since her old days, which might suggest some work. I really don't know though. I do suspect she is Cap rising because of the jawline and upturned eyes. Still I can see the feline that you talk about it.

Helmet, Guns n'Roses, you name it Lol! Helmet IMO created heavy metal as it was ment to be; Only to be totally basterdized by Hardcore punk. Don't get me wrong, there are a few punk songs that I personally love but modern punk really has no solid case for existance other then scaring unwated pests out of my den Lol! Then again, when is modern "anything" good.

I think every band has some kind of "distinct sound". Must admit that when it comes to AC/DC I much prefer the sound they have with Brian than Bon. But personality wise Bon is far more of a character.

U2 are phenomenal - even Edge. Just the amount of sound that one guy produces is totally ridiculous.

I like hard rock. Everyone has their distinct sound. I hate thrash though. And the really hard stuff. Not a Judas Priest fan for instance. My husband and I, before we married, stayed on a houseboat for a week and listened to Deep Purple for that entire week straight. That was over 10 years ago and I can't even listen to them now.

I love the absolute crispness of John Bonham's notes. I'm a huge Led Zeppelin fan. Love Jimmy Page. JPJ was the best. And then there's THE rock god - Mr Plant. He's another that I'd wilt before.

Metallica have an awesome clear sound too. Again the drums - really sharp - every note - just precise. You don't hear that with every band. And then there's Kirk - I don't know why - but there's Kirk..............

Yes Led Zep are really good. Oddly J Page has Mars in Gem, Venus in Sag like me.

X - have you gotten into Fugazi by any chance? I don't care much for other hardcore punk--> emo. Hardcore punk to my knowledge comes from Washington DC area. It was then b*stardised as you say by this new type of hardcore punk.

Ura in Libra - 1968-75 - give peace a chance
Ura in Sco - 1975-82 - sex and discos
Ura in Sag - 1982-1987 - decadence and exhuberance
Ura in Cap - 1987-1993 - economic collapse and grunge

Oh, I love GnR. Love Slash. That intro to Welcome To The Jungle - OMG! Astounding! Love it. I always think of that as my theme. If I had theme music it would be the intro to that song. Rebel Yell by Billy Idol suits me too personality wise. Appearance wise we'd probably be looking at Olivia Newton-John.

Love Eddie Van Halen too. Sammy Hagar was far better than David Lee Roth. Oh, I'm going to get slammed for that - I know.

Always had a massive thing for Steve Clarke from Def Lep. Absolutely loved and adored that guy.

Yes, the symbols on his albums are all that. He has Cap Sun, Cancer Moon and Sco rising I think and they are part of the LZ symbolry I think. He also ran a new age shop before he became a serious musician.

I'm a huge Pink Floyd fan - I've always had a thing for Dave Gilmour too. That first guitar solo in Comfortably Numb is my absolute favourite piece of music. Heaven. They don't call him Heaven's Guitarist for no reason. Disappointing the way he pieces his music though - not as instinctive as I would have believed - as he sounds. Apparently he makes up a few solos and then pieces the best parts together. Sometimes it's better not to read their interviews.

You've got me started on my favourite subject - music - you've basically got yourself into a verbal diarrhea stronghold. Sorry. I can talk about this forever. I'll try to show some restraint.

IMO Apocalyptica picked up on that. Only they got a bit more creative with their band; Bringing in the dreary cello sound and combining it masterfully with hard rock.

Now... Its a phenomenon Lol! One that is being copied out by other bands who are doing a really bad job at it.

That is such an interesting observation re: music and Uranus. I've never used astrology like that. Interesting. Every day I can see more and more how much you utilise it. I've always used it just to learn about myself, basically.

I'm sorry I'll just never like stuff like GnR, Def Lep, Poison, Metallica. Ugh, those little zit-faced teen boys with their stupid faded black metal t-shirts and the bogan true rocks girls with joozy fringes, tights and silver jewellery. Still makes me vomit thinking about them.

Fine then. We can talk about Duran Duran! Hungry Like The Wolf is my favourite. "I'm on the hunt, I'm after you". Love that line. And I didn't even have to research it - I knew it!

It's just mundane astrology. I find mundane astrology rather fascinating, outer planets are very interesting in particular.

Fugazi's "Waiting Room" rocks! Lol! Only you would be quite disappointed to find out that their style was blatently copied by the group "American Hi-Fi" and well... They gave it a modern twist with their song "Beautiful Disaster."

ROFL. That definitely does not describe my look. I'm very plain looking - really really ordinary. I love the energy of rock. I think most people would see me as new-agey. People always tell me I look "creative". Which I guess means I dress badly.

Heh - let's talk about Duran

Save a Prayer - now seriously, that's saucy lyrics. Have a read. Awesome videoclip too and that ending just takes you away. I'm pretty sure though that the song is a rip off of 2HB by Roxy though.

You saw me standing by the wall corner of a main street
And the lights are flashing on your window sill
All alone ain't much fun so you're looking for the thrill
And you know just what it takes and where to go

Don't say a prayer for me now, save it till the morning after
No don't say a prayer for me now, save it till the morning after

Feel the breeze deep on the inside look you down into your well
If you can you'll see the world in all his fire
Take a chance like all dreamers can't find another way
You don't have to dream at all just live a day

[ Find more Lyrics at www.mp3lyrics.org/aWg ]
Don't say a prayer for me now, save it till the morning after
No don't say a prayer for me now, save it till the morning after
Save it till the morning after, save it till the morning after

Pretty looking road I try to hold the rising floods that fill my skin
Don't ask me why I'll keep my promise melt the ice
And you wanted to dance so I asked you to dance but fear is in yor soul
Some people call it a one night stand but we can call it paradise

Don't say a prayer for me now, save it till the morning after
No don't say a prayer for me now, save it till the morning after
Save it till the morning after, save it till the morning after
Save it till the morning after, save it till the morning after
Save a prayer till the morning after, save a prayer till the morning after
Save a prayer till the morning after, save a prayer till the morning after
Save a prayer till the morning after

I think sometimes it's not where they come from but where they're trying to get out of.

It's natural to want to do and be more than your upbringing.

And sometimes it just clicks into place. Def Leppard are a good example of that. Brilliant marketing at the beginning of their career propelled them early on. Then they had to step up and deliver the goods.
