I think I can count on one finger how many other water mercuries I've come across in my offline life. Its mostly air and fire mercuries in my immediate family; and same goes for close friends and important relationships. I must've really screwed up in another life.  IP: Logged |

Coming back to this post, in a more serious manner.I don't think we're less expressive than other signs, we just express ourselves differently. It's more of, hey you need a drink refill? I'm going to the kitchen, and wanna make sure you have a drink too. You had a hard day? Oh did you want a back rub? I made you these cookies, just because I know they're your favorite! More physical expression, KWIM? Are your bodily needs cared for? Or maybe that Taurus just really sucked as a person...you never know... IP: Logged |

I Agree Absinthedragonfly, I am a Taurean sun and tend to show my love in more tangible ways. Since I can't speak for everyone, I'm only saying what it is like for me. My ways of expressing love are by choosing the very best gift for you when I want to show you I love you. I can spend hours on end finding that matching art piece or kitchenware that you could never find. That may not seem like much to someone who need tons of emotional comfort and expression, but I do the best I can do. I will be there when you need someone to pet-sit while you go out of town, I will rub your feet every single day and never complain, I will remember what you said you liked or didn't like and happily oblige, I will be dependable, reliable, encouraging, all-believing, etc. BUT, I won't pour out all of my heart to just anyone. you have to be very close to me, and even then, you won't get much in the way of emotional expression. Sounds harsh, I know. I am envious of water signs that can express their emotions so consistently. Just didn't get dealt that stack of cards this time around. Maybe next time. i'm working on it though....I never stop working on it. IP: Logged |

I'm a Cancer Sun Cap Moon and Taurus Venus...and this is the EXACT way I am. I'm encouraging, and I'm there. If you need someone to house sit...or pick out the perfect gift for you I'm the best at it. But I'm not so expressive emotionally despite the Cancer Sun/Asc/Mars...I wish I was. I show how I feel based on being there and doing things. I always say actions speak louder than words. BUT...I also need to "feel" that the person is feeling what I feel (and I'm sure Water signs know EXACTLY what I'm talking about lol), and that we have a mental connection as well (my pesky Venus in 11th). I am a Cancer...but for some reason Water Mercury’s get to me sooo much. I have them Trine my Sun/Asc/and Mars but I still wish they would be expressive. I "know" what they are thinking...but my Cap and Taurus side needs things stated explicitly so I tend to not trust my intuition.

^^^^I'm alot like that and I have a Water Mercury too. I notice, like Betty Boop has said before, that we do have very private minds. I mean, for someone to ask me what the hell I'm thinking is probably the most annoying thing in the world...LOL.
I too find that I am 'there' for people in more tangible ways instead of giving outright emotional support. If they're going through tough times I might do some errands for them or even cook dinners for them (like we did last year for the doctor who's wife was very sick with lung cancer). You know, just the little things. That's pretty much happens when a Cancer Sun disposits itself in an Earth Moon. And that's why this thread is very confusing for me...ahahahaha. I have both elements strong within me.

Betty Boop, you're so right. Someone having a water mercury like I do is extremely important. I feel like in all my closest most comfortable relationships I have that. It's like you speak the same language, and u just love them for it.I like where this thread is going...we're fibally getting to the center of it, I think. I hate it when anyone wants to show how they feel through actions but never shows any other kind of expression like a smile, hug, or just plainly trying to say something to make me laugh and being enthusiastic. It's definitely the leo in me that needs all of that. And I'm telling you---that's where, and why, earth signs and I clash. It's the leo. My libra and gemini best friends are both expressive and willing to do anything for me. They call back when they say they will, they make sacrifices for me, but they're also very cuddly and talkative and enthusiastic, they make sure they smile at me when they say goodbye and make sure to use words I don't find offensive. Earth signs are just a lot more crude that way, they say things that hurt me all the time. Aries, are similar, but for some reason it's easier for me to forgive them. I don't like leos and aquariuses because I've found them to be fake people who feel one thing and express another. Sags are cool but too blunt for my tastes. I love the masculine signs because they're not as needy as me. I need advice, they give it to me. They need calm and easygoing, i give them that. With earth signs it's like they always need advice with some kind of problem, and I'm already too much like that. We're also both kind of shy and often there's a lack of enthusiasm between us. We can't have two needy people in a relationship, u know? I actually dont find scorpios and pisces to be needy, though. I love aries and libras, though. And i initially love caps and virgos (they seem like mind-oriented people) but then live to regret it (they are, but they take things too seriously). Geminis I can either love or hate. Some are so difficult to understand! I think a lot of my personality is guided by my name being ruled by Gemini. If i can't have a good talk with u i feel no connection. In a relationship, we have to have mental chemistry first, and then physical chemistry develops later. And i always look for people who look like they are in their heads a lot, who are always thinking of something witty to say. The whole point of being a gemini is that u want to celebrate the joy of living with others, so enthusiasm is VERY important to me. I think all the other stuff about expression has to do with the leo in me, though. IP: Logged | |
