RAS, you read a lot of stuff about Cancers and now you are emulating them. People like to read, relate, and perpetuate so they feel they belong. It's the human way of understanding.
I say I feel and I think a lot. When someone ****** me off, I say I know  Do yourself a favor and don't box yourself in. Your north node is in Aquarius. It's meant to be moving away from from that. And please stop trying to box other people in as well. You nothing about their life, their tastes, feelings, or thoughts. No one does. That's why they use astrology to understand and the ones who give a sh!t about people actually go beyond the sun signs. IP: Logged |

Aquas aren't heartless. I know another Cap Sun with Gemini Rising (Just like myself) with a stellium in Aqua (actually four planets in Aqua), and he's easily twice as emotional as me. Probably more emotional than I could be. My own little sister, who is an Aqua, used to throw tantrums all the time when she was young. Aqua with Taurus Rising. She so loves our Leo mom for the way she was able to handle her, and bring her out of that.IP: Logged |

Sun sign astrology is the reason why people think astrology is bogus!Edit: I am well aware that Aquas are not heartless, that was sarcasm. In SUN SIGN astrology, Aquas are made out to be detached heartless robots. Whoch is why Sun Sign astrology is useless once you get past the 101 stage. Sun sign horoscopes moreso than just Sun signs, but I'm sure you understand that my point is easily just as valid. People didn't spontaneously decide to study astrology after NOT having seen anything about Sun sign astrology.IP: Logged |

No book, RAS, just be as you are. If something catches your attention then go with it, I can't recommend anything else (I learn thru immersion pretty much).

AG, I do give earth signs a chance. Why wouldn't I? It's not like I hate them. I just know I couldn't live with someone so withdrawn and undemonstrative as I usually find earth signs to be. Not to say I wouldn't give them a chance to see if they are or aren't. But if they turn out to be, I know I couldn't marry someone like that.Being friends is fine I will keep an eye out for you, you seem like a wise person to me. MVM, of course no hard feelings. . lol sun sign astrology was made popular and that is all. People got excited and ran with it. Western culture over-relates to the ego = sun sign because they want answers and thus pounce prematurely on whatever seems remotely intriguing for answers.

Yes! Exactly. The stereotyping gives me an insight to what people might be about. If I'm stuck with a stranger, but am able to get their birthday I have a decent chance of making conversation with them. Maybe they won't fit ALL the facets of the sign's stereotype, but there's almost bound to be an in. IP: Logged |

That's what you don't understand. I'm not trying to box anyone in...I think a lot of the books are wrong, and I think people should go with their own observations, not what the books say.  That's so ridiculous.I was debating a valid point, which this astrological newbie seems to get while you old hands can't seem to understand. She's new. She doesn't know the rules of astrological etiquette which state that the slightest hint of bias against a sign, particularly a Sun sign, is a cardinal sin. She's right in her overall feel, though. If she continues learning astrology, her views will become more nuanced. The strange thing is, you put her in a box whilst accusing her of doing that to you. Defensive much? Oh no, someone said something against Earth signs! Sound the alarm! Get the lynch mob! I know this issue like the back of my hand. It's very easy and simple, and there isn't a counter debate that's superior, which is why you'd try to make it personal. How about not making assumptions, and trying to understand her perspective? In my opinion, anyone who doesn't see the generalities isn't sensitive enough.Yes, I love astrology and its amazing complexity, yet how nothing is random and everything seems to be extremely organized and fits perfectly like pieces in a puzzle. Yet, I do notice that sun signs have things in common. You haven't been able to acknowledge yet how it is that my best friend can tell people's sun signs? Wrong. I gladly put myself up for ridicule all the time asking for birthdays and stating people's Sun signs back to them. Like I said earlier, understanding the generalizations gives me a starting point from which to have a conversation. I don't post at Astrology much, because I don't come here as much, for one, and there aren't always topics that get me very excited. AcousticGod. Thank you for defending me. I did feel that they got personal a few times, unnecessarily. I totally agree. But, don't worry, they were just saying their opinion as were we. Even though it's true some people (ahem MVM and amowls) can't control their temper and try to attack others personally when they do lose it, that's another story. I don't take it to heart.It's not a big deal, and please, let's just forget it, and agree to disagree. But, thanks for defending me, anyway
