I get the Cancerian rebellion. It's true. You can really find it amongst any of the Cardinal signs. It's part of being someone with initiative and an agenda. Ask Tesla or Muhammad Yunus or see Richard Branson's business ventures (All Cancers that have done quite unique things in the public eye).

Definite rebelliousness with one Merc opposed Uranus that I knew. Earth Sun, Fire ascendant. I would go into more, but I shouldn't still be here.

You can find it in just about any sign.

That's true. It is possible in any sign. That's a generalization.

You implied earlier that it wasn't Cancer's domain. More of an Aqua thing. Another generalization.

Knowing Cancers, though, I know the rebellion of which she speaks. I've known Cancers to be intentionally shocking for over half my life.

True, amowls. People will esp rebel when they read generalizations as well

RAS - yeah, I mean, a lot of the stuff you're saying about the earth signs is very much generalized just like Cancers are as well. But there are rebels among us just like there are in any sign. We're all different but not, as in we are all in the same of wanting to be understood as individuals. That's one of the major problems something like generic Western astrology. When people want answers, they want answers and will often resort to shortcuts, I've found. But that doesn't mean they're right.

Also, as far as your chart goes, I think you also like and need order. You want things to make sense. You like clarity. Any kind of gray response can sometimes come off as flakiness to you, or fluffiness.

Yeah, well, she was interested in generalizations so I was giving her a common one (that she tried to cop and own for Cancers).

...no. That's not.

Point is, Sun Sign astrology is stupid. The end.

No, I agree with AcousticGod. The cardinal signs don't just rebel, though. They rebel with a purpose, which is very different from why the other signs rebel. They just rebel to prove that they can, but cardinal signs only rebel to teach someone something very specific, almost to teach them a quick life lesson, lol.

Honey chile, I've been a contrarian to you for this entire thread for the express purpose of teaching you a lesson and I am not a Cardinal Sun Sign (most of my chart is mutable).

If generalizations are so common in astrology and sun signs, then what the hell is the point of astrology
...I mean besides a circle jerk about how great or awful is sign is
Oooh, stay in your box and don;t come out, unless you're a sign I 'know' or have experience with LOL

Yes, amowls.. Again, you're right.

Again, amowls. You always have to win, don't you? I'm gonna say a generalization here. All aquas I've met have to be right.

Oh Jesus.

STOP BASING CHARACTERISTICS OF PEOPLE OFF OF JUST THEIR SUN SIGNS.

I should maybe type this up in photoshop and make it into a blingee.

MVM Virgos & Aquas love analysis and logic based arguments

Excuse me? I haven't made fun of your opinion, and I do take offense to that.

If you haven't been paying attention, which it looks like you haven't, this entire time I've been trying to say the opposite of that, that people should go on their personal observations and ignore what the books say.

For all the years I have done readings for people, I can assure you, that I always ask for dates of birth. I use their dob, not for sun sign but for numerology, and add intuition to it. I can assure you that every sign feels misunderstood. I can also assure you that over the past few years in the readings I've done, all signs can portray whatever they want to or can't help to, because they are all individuals. I think this is the bottom line. And seriously, why would you want to keep looking at people like they are parodies of a month? It's really one-dimensional. If you insist on it, I can assure you, your relationships will remain on a level which will frustrate you and you will wonder why there is no depth.

RAS, aren't you the least bit interested in your own chart? Or are you only interested in what is 'wrong' with earth signs?

Amowls, I will if I want to. Lol. Simple as that. Seriously, if you aren't convincing me, just drop it.

You're being rebellious just to force your opinion on me. That's not a real purpose, and it's much less a life lesson of any kind.

Point not taken. Sun sign astrology is what gets most people interested in astrology in the first place. If it were STUPID...most people would have abandoned it before they even began.

quote:

Generalizations are the point of astrology! What do you think the point of astrology is? If it's to gain insight, it's through the use of the generalizations you obtain from it.

quote:
Oooh, stay in your box and don;t come out, unless you're a sign I 'know' or have experience with LOL

A generalization doesn't put you in a box. A generalization in astrology says that you have something in common with this group of people, SO you may also have these things in common with them. It doesn't say you have to be anything. It's like Netflix. They know you fit into liking one genre, so you may like other movies from that genre. It doesn't say you must. It doesn't say you couldn't possibly love any other movies.

MVM, what makes you think I'm not interested in my chart?

I've read whatever interpretations people have posted. And so far...they haven't really said much about why I don't like earth signs. lol. So what am I supposed to say in reply?

It feels like you guys want me to listen to your point of view, but you aren't listening to mine. You haven't given what I'm saying half a chance. Maybe you should go and see if you notice things in common between earth signs, air signs, virgos, geminis whatever and see what you come up with.

The fact that my best friend is able to guess people's sun signs AND rising signs, based on generalities she has observed says a lot.

RAS, my BIGGEST problem with astrology the is people. Them coming in with curiosity, learning a basic or two, and then stopping themselves from learning more about it because they go ahhh, ok. It;s like learning one thing and then deciding that's it.
There SO much to this stuff. Its amazing. I just don;t know the point of getting into it , dipping a pinky and then saying ALL PEOPLE BORN IN THIS MONTH ARE XYZ..

And just to confirm the stereotypes, if you notice, I say "I feel" alot, which is Cancer's phrase.

How do you FEEL about earth signs? [title of this thread]

I FEEL that you guys blah blah blah [see my post right above]

No RAS, I hear your point of view. I just don;t agree with it. I would listen more if you learned more about astrology and would elaborate, but it seems you are not interested in it, more interested in staying on the sun sign course.
