it is the venus square mars....imo. tend to be very....nitpicky and condescending about the opposite sex.
ive seen the same of women who have this aspect and the way that they talk about guys..oh my.....
it is like they just always have something negative to say about men, and they tend to always generalize....

I don't know about "just stirring". He seems really affected by this and he's having suicidal thoughts and is generally unhappy in many posts.
I'm not going to trivialise it personally. I don't think this is trivial for aquaguy or that he's just doing to annoy us. IP: Logged |

Well I was speaking from my experience when I said a lot of girls have low self esteem. I do agree that there are a lot of women who are vey strong individuals but from what I have seen it usually takes a few years and some difficult experiences for people to really start to appreciate and understand their own worth. I also think that girls are socialized differently than boys- there are certain insidious societal expectations that effect us whether we want to admit it or not. I do not believe that girls are taught to be as independent and self-sufficient as boys are. Even if our parents teach us to be strong women there are still messages we receive in the media and among our peers that tell us the opposite. Perhaps not all women will agree with me on this but I have definitely been effected by these messages- the biggest being that a woman's appearance matters more than her talents or intellect. Hikiro - I've noticed similar things with Venus square Mars. I have the trine which makes their tension even more obvious to me.
But Aqua has this out of sign... Gemini Mars and Aquarius Venus, so it shouldn't be quite as harsh.IP: Logged |

^For some reason the U.S. is a part of a entirely different universe and once a person travels few light years from it women are supposedly normal. But then of course you have to deal with extraterrial coitus.IP: Logged |

Prior to this I had no knowledge of suicidal thoughts. I'm still skeptical but I'll leave it alone. I usually do anyway but I don't feel like being tolerant today.

I sincerely believe that the problem lies with how you view your mother, this reflects on how you visualize women in general. You don't have to believe women you meet on the internet who keeps denying low esteem issues, but you have to believe that there are women OUT THERE that are not what you say they are. IP: Logged |

^^seconded.i know this is a bit of an odd comparison but i am scared of dogs and somehow i attract dogs going crazy around me- like someone else will pass by some dogs and they will not make a sound, i pass by the same dogs 30 secs later and they start going crazy and barking...its like they can smell my fear, i give off the fact i dont like them and they respond to it. i see all this so clearly but because i just have this block around them there does not seem to be much i can do about it, so i empathise with aquaguy and it seems even worse for him as he cannot see that it is more his problem and that he draws this kind of behaviour towards him by his beliefs and actions and it is really hard to change this kind of thinking but i think acqua guy should try IP: Logged |

aquaguy - you are missing some things there. You are seeing this in a very practical earthy Cap Mercury way. Kinda like: your mum says she wants these qualities in a man: honest, reliable, intelligent.. But she ends up dating men who are dishonest and unreliable.. hence: her attitude is hypocritical. You are too black and white about it. We're not robots who can make up a perfect checklist of things we want and then stick to those exact things. We are not psychic either so we judge people based on the info available to us. Someone might appear reliable & revert back to their old unreliable self once we get to know them better.
Even when you do have a checklist and you meet someone who ticks all the right boxes.. there can be a lack of attraction/chemistry between you.
And vice versa - you can meet someone who does not fit your perfect man/woman profile who you are attracted to.
It takes some time for most people to meet someone who is right for them.. and sadly some never do, so they settle for whoever is around at the time. If your mum says she wants a "good" guy... and then she meets a so called "good" guy and rejects him... This rejection is NOT happening because of all of the qualities he had.. and all of the things he ticked on her checklist.... It's NOT happening because he is too "good". It's happening because of the things that your mother feels are lacking in that relationship... If there's no connection.. If there's no chemistry.. If she looks into his eyes and feels nothing... then - it doesn't matter that he fits the checklist. IP: Logged |
