Universal love consciousness doesn't want people to keep hurting each other, gratuitously... it wants to protect and heal, but it brings out the pain so we can see it clearly and change our suffering into bliss...

The only reason we need to keep hurting each other is karma (ok that comprises basically everything). It's possible to work karma off, by being of genuine service. The universal love nature feeds on pain, and transmutes it into life. Like predators in nature.

It's perplexing... I'm honestly perplexed by it. But I'm willing to suffer for everybody's well being, and for everybody to suffer their karma if they must. Suffering isthe name of the game right now...

In alchemy we have the Nigredo... The burning up of the ego, a long and torturous shadow process. Seems like we're collectively in the Nigredo stage in a pretty big way. But not everybody.

It's all perception... But there's also cold hard reality and although I don't claim to know everything I do think that Jewel was right...

"In the end, only kindness matters."

I'm sorry if I've ever hurt anybody. Give that pain back to me. I am deeply sorry. I will feel it all. I want you to be well. Thank you for your wisdom

I used to do that for years before I had my child. I rode freight trains and ate garbage exclusively.

It's not that hard? Have you done it?

Have you tried it when everybody else is also diving in the cans? Or when people stop putting garbage in the cans cause there's no food on the shelves?

Depends what you want, then, doesn't it?

I flip flop on this one. I understand that expressing wants is natural... like a small child wants food. But when two people want different things, it is disastrous and divisive.

So in this sense, it is not healing to have desire and aversion. It is what keeps us on the wheel of samsara. It is totally predicated on the ongoing individuality, personal importance and the divided consciousness.

It's difficult to understand. Wants are very different from needs and the ability to distinguish is crucial... also selfish desire is ultimately very painful. Selfless desire is a different thing.

To want out of selfishness goads us to learn the lessonsof life and love, and ultimately leads us to desirelessness...

the more you desire the more you are alive. the less you desire the more you are ready to not exist

I'm not going to wait, I'm going to plant food and learn from the earth how to survive, through respect and humility and love and indigenous teachings, etc. I'm going to look after my friends in practical ways. I bring my friends who already don't have enough money soup and help guide them through the healthcare system. That's what I am doing.

If you think everybody has enough money right now... look at the other nations that America has sucked dry. Look at the genocide of the indigenous people. Look at the starving and wounded, the bombed and robbed in the Middle East.

Then tell me that time has not come!

It hasn't come for Americans, yet, because it isn't time, by their clock, yet.

Just because it's never happened to you does not mean it can't.

Many Americans live in poverty and fear. They are killed by police for less than nothing, for being black. Women are raped and then chastised for calling men out on it.

You want me to wait... wait for what, exactly? Until you personally are starving?

It will be too late, my friend.

This is true.

Scorpio's rule: you must be willing to be nothing in order to be something.

It's also a taoist principle, and a Buddhist one. The bit about desirelessness..

Desirelessness = fulfillment

There is no worse folly than not knowing what is enough.

Know when enough is enough, and be content...

Greed is a sickness.

This thread has really jumped the rails. I was leaving it open to let everyone have their say, and it seems to have resolved itself of its own momentum.
