This may get locked but I believe Pluto deserves an honest answer

quote:
Why if your castle of camelot was SO GREAT, was it destroyed so easily and so quickly?

I speak for me alone.

It is / was not destroyed.

I have seen the commings and goings here for quite some time. Oh so many storms weathered. But I have never seem an attempt of such control. That I believe is the root issue.

Candidly, I don`t for one second, believe it is because of the new forum. Issues may have spun off it but it did not cause it.

Randall is seen in a new light; that is a shock for some. Pluto, you`re stepping into every forum acting (I think you said) Plutonian stirs a quiet front. People are hungry to be heard yet locked instead.

Contention is a fact of life and can`t be peaced away. The more one screams for quiet/peace the louder the rumble.

Each sun sign reacts differently... some Plutonian some not so much so. Is there room for both to share a comfortable space?

To speak so highly of "new members" to the expense of the old, you can plainly see is taken hard. Can there be a balance here?

The question remains: how can one voice an honest, no rule breaking, opinion?????

I love LL and am not going anywhere short of banning but I stand firm with my question. It needs addressing to bring around the peace asked for.

I hope you know, that if people could refrain from name-calling and really nasty slander, that I would hope they would be heard, too.

I am a figure-head for what's happened here... for a energy that's moved through, but I am not beyond wanting fairness, too.

Opinions are welcomed, Juni. There is no censorship here (within reason). Just no insults. The control is needed for a short time, because I exercised restraint over Lara, and she would not back down. In real life, inciting a riot is a crime. There is no crusade to fight for. You simply stay or you go. Two choices. Stay and help us grow and move beyond past mistakes...or depart. Why all the contention when they leave?

Because they aren't being heard.

Because up until about a week ago, strings were left to burn out on their own, without being closed, unless someone was being physically threatened with violence.

Do you not see that this is very unsettling for people? They feel as though they no longer matter, even if they have given of themselves for years to this place.

If I was banned, I would feel a HUGE gaping hole in my heart and spirit, because, as I've said, to you Randall, this was a lifepreserver when my whole life was smashed into a million pieces and I didn't know if it would ever be the same again.

People rallied around me, and stuck by me, even at the worst when Kevin was near death. I honestly don't think I could have gotten through that time without LL and the people here.

Other people have had had similar circumstances too.

I would eventually heal, however, I don't know if I would get over it. It would take a lot of mourning.

I think we can talk on and on about the issues which are the tip of the iceberg.
That will not help the underlying issues.
I think Randall became a real "flesh and blood "man.
He was the Daddy, very beloved but above the daily going's on.
I think it was a shock when he became human.
I think within the human psyche is the desire to keep the authority in his ivory tower.
That makes everyone comfortable in a deep way of which they are not consciously aware.

I think 8th house issues started flooding the Forum.
I am sure I had a big role in that.
I had a terrible tragedy and I wanted to know why and how.
Many people did not like this. I understand.
It put another flavor in to the Forum that many people found very distasteful and repugnant.

Sweet Peas was a divisive place cuz it was very "out there"
It offended some people and more importantly made some people feel they did not BELONG cuz this material was not comfortable for them or even wanted.

I think newer members becoming Mod's and I include myself(I have a year) offended older members.
I understand that, totally.
Randall can choose the Mod's as he sees fit.
People must accept that cuz he has that authority as the Webmaster.

We ,all ,want Randall's attention and favor. He is our "Daddy"
I think this is a big root.

We all want to be the most special or at least very special.

I think many people felt they were not special anymore.
IF they had used discernment, they could have worked it out.
However, emotions blew as they will.
I am an Air sign so can step back. I know other signs jump, first and ask questions ,later.

No one is bad. Humans have their hearts and souls that are fragile.

Things happen cuz of that.

Ami Anne,

quote:
He was the Daddy, very beloved but above the daily going's on.

I respectfully disagree. He was rarely here. He allowed LL to police herself with Mods balancing the issues.
Occassionally he was asked to step in and 123 peace.

This is a different ball game. Peace can only be arrived at by the knowflakes knowing they are being heard with a listening mind & ear I am not speaking of those insulting few but the remaining with an honest need to be heard by Randall & Mods. Yes & yes again, they are hammering on the issue but in an open questioning manner.

Truth hurts but at least it is arrived at

No that's not it at all.

It's Because they aren't being heard.

Because up until about a week ago, strings were left to burn out on their own, without being closed, unless someone was being physically threatened with violence.

Ami, it isn't about Sweet Peas.

I just wanted to post a for Absinthe, and Juni, because I've said here before, that this place - or, more importantly, the people here - helped me.

Well, from what Juniperb is saying so far, I agree with her.

Hopefully, Juniperb, this will not make other people hate you, too... seeing as anyone that I compliment or say anything nice towards gets lumped into the "bad" group.

I don't mind Randall being here at all.
His personality is much like what I saw at myspace, I don't think that is really the issue.
Nor do I think the new forum is the issue.

The issue seems to be more in favoritism, and not letting those who wish to be heard, be heard.

Randall said that he won't allow goodbye threads because they cause contention.
I would think that if only the people who wish to say goodbye went IN them, there would be no contention, and nobodies feelings would be hurt.

People want and need closure. To some this is extremely upsetting, it's not just a 'get over it' kind of matter.

I do see that, Abs. I have not lost my temper one time. The only time I can rember doing that was with AG recently and with AG a long time ago. I see both sides. But letting it play out just isn't what we are talking about here. These people left. I shouldn't have deleted anything. My bad. I learned that lesson. I will close strings only. But when people leave and then come back to stir the pot--or are banned for not stopping after multiple warnings (like Lara), then it's beyond playing it out. It disrupts the community for those 99 percent who just want to post and share and communicate. They shouldn't have to witness any of this because people can't let go and move on. If you are unhappy, simply leave. And leave us in peace. And let us be. Or stay and help us learn and grow from it.
