As someone who is recovering from PostPartum Depression, I would have to say that for some people medication is needed. I tried everything I could think of to "lift" myself out of the funk I was in. Finally after many attempts to make it go away(a better outlook on my situation, exercise, vitties, positive thinkin), and 6 months later, I realized that I needed something more. I know that some of my depression was caused by external circumstances and some were internal. I won't go into the whole thing now, but I had twins and Morgen was only 23 mo. when they were born. Depression is a hereditary thing on both sides of my family, and 8 weeks after our boys were born, our family had to move out of the home we were renting because the landlord didn't renew our lease, and due to various reasons we ended up not being able to find another place, so I moved into my parents home with the kids while my husband renovated his family home for us. So I knew that after 6 months there had to be something more I could do to feel better and for me the answer was medication. Hope that can be of some help to someone. My views have changed since I started this thread. I do feel that medication can be of help to some. ------------------ "He who is devoid of the power to forgive is devoid of the power to love." Martin Luther King, Jr. IP: Logged | |
