Increasingly I despair of the use of astrology on LL. Is it just my perception?

No, you're not the only one. I just tend to stay away from there. Where, I think, you try to fight the good fight. I've given up. That's the only difference between us. If there is some great injustice I'm in there. Otherwise, I find it really pointless to correspond when people only want to hear what they have set in their head they want to hear. To me, when you ask a question, you should be prepared for answers and truths you may not like. I thought that was what asking was about. We're no longer objective. That's dangerous. And when you get people being a smart@rses in there on top of it, it doesn't help. It's not how I would like it to be. There's a lot of b1tchiness that has seaped in. And also misuse of astrology. People with different ideas of the basics. Or people with no idea of the basics coupled with no life experience, offering advice they know very little about.

That put it in perspective.

It's the kind of use that makes people think astrology is a pile of cack. Even I start to think it is is a waste of my time when I read through some of the contributions we are getting.

So, I think I am going to take the hidden advice in there, after all I have better things to do.

Like, talk about chest hair.

quote:
If you want to make someone a wanker or an angel then the astrology will be there to prove your point and that's not what it's for. Astrology is a portrait of potential energy - and should be used as that. I feel upset too when I see it because it gives astrology (and those that believe in it) a bad name.

That's exactly right. You can use astrology to back-up any argument you choose. I think it's just that there is no objectivity. To a point we are all friends and we all support each other and it's just a natural starting point to take the side of the person in forum and their argument or issue. I mentioned gang mentality the other day in a thread and somebody threw up their arms, but it's true - even in that as astrology fans there can be a group mentality against people who don't believe in it. So it's an us (astrology people) and them (non-believers) approach - even if it's subconscious.

Hey, I'm making a mint on ebay today. I just sold an old board game that I bought for 50p for £10, and a Harris tweed jacket for £79 that I got from a chazzer for £5. My house looks like Steptoe's yard. NN in Cap. Loves it.

Back to chest hair.

Well done. The only Capi in my chart is my Midheaven. My Saturn & Mars in Taurus in 2nd will appreciate your efforts.

It's never a waste of time to discuss chest hair. Or the subjects who adorn them. I think it's a good use of time, actually. Very useful indeed.

Christian Bale, gorgeous. But I wouldn't go near him, I'm afeard!

Yes, there is a twosided-ness to astrology. Pisces got on my t!ts the other day when he asked me to prove it was real, and to put my money where my mouth is. I said wtf? I never ram it down anybody's throat so I don't have to "prove it" to anybody. Go and see for yourself.

I never go out to prove anything either. I hate that. Especially when it's approached from the perspective of negativity. They don't really want you to prove it. They really want you to try to prove it and then intend to knock back your every word. I step back from those. Those who are interested, genuinely, I'm happpy to discuss, anytime. It's hard though, to get beyond the Sun signs. Some people just can't see that there is more than just the Sun sign. I find that hard to get around.

Sometimes posts on here show up in retro, or maybe it is me. Anyway, Wheels, glad it wasn't just my reaction to the 'wanker' thread. Nice to know I am not losing the plot.

Did you like my Peter O'Toole photo?

I love Peter O'Toole. He's got a good bit of naughty about him. You know how I love that. He's seen a thing or a hundred million. Stories he could tell. He's great on late night shows - always a brilliant interview. He has mischief in his eyes.

Glad you feel the same way. I felt quite offended. Like you can give someone a 20 minute summary of it anyway. People spend a lifetime studying it. I just used the old Newton quote on him (I have studied the matter - you sir have not) and he soon shut up, specially because he loves Newton. Take that Science Man. hahaha

Pisces and science huh? Funny, traditionally you would expect Pisces to be quite open to anything spiritual. Well, I consider astrology spiritual. I know that astrology is more an Aquarian type interest. But aren't our Pisceans meant to be more along the line of evolution. So, a lot (in the threads) like to keep telling us. . I get my knickers in a knot when I'm told I'm merely a selfish Aries by a higher minded Piscean.

Oh yeah! I love John Hurt. Sublime actor. Just wonderful.

In some pics he reminds me of Gary Oldman.

Well, he's a bit of an all-rounder but I think sometimes he's just perverse. He is spiritual but he was having a day of quite frankly, being mean. Sayig stuff like "When you die you just die" - erm, so why all the fricking books on Buddhism etc? Loves a bit of the cosmic does that one. He's a proper Pisces but he wouldn't want to hear that would he??!

I'm a bit down on him these days. He flirts too much for my liking and I can't tell whether I've got a jealousy issue, whether he's a prick, or whether he's playing mind-games because he's insecure. I'm feeling very tired of thinking about this.

Sounds like game playing to me. Couple it with the other comments and attitude. Flirting with others would irk me too. It's understandable. They can go about things in a way that makes us doubt our perceptions too. Maybe he's got something he wants to say and starting an argument is his way of doing it.

Mr PA goes about things like that. He'll pick a fight and when it goes in a direction that he wasn't prepared, he tries to accuse me of starting it. After a while it's like the Peanuts cartoons where every word just sounds like "wah, wah, wah".

I feel relieved that it might be mind games, those I can deal with. I just can't seem to bring up a calm discussion of my feelings about it without him making it my problem. When we're out for a walk he comments on the features of other women and it makes me shake with anger. And when he talks about his ex.... he has to bring up the fact that she's beautiful at least 50 times. And any cosmic-ness from her (she's a herbalist, reflexologist and general wonder-woman) is encouraged to the max. She's even painted a mandala in her driveway. If that were me he'd look at me wrong. I just feel a bit like she's on a pedestal and I'm the real one with flaws. I know she has flaws too. I feel bad for almost hating her sometimes. God help me. It's not her, it's him. Arrgggh!!!!
