Other times (most of the time) he is very loving, and always does what he says he will do. I feel confused and feel like I concentrate on the negatives too much. I feel a bit depressed to be honest. Relationships! Get me to a nunnery.

What I think is the crux of it - I feel that he would think more of me if we had never started anything and he could think about me with hope/regret. He lives in lalaland, can't deal with a real woman who farts and sh!ts and has moods. God love him. I do love him, just got raging pms!

It is him. That he's talking about his ex-girlfriend like that - would make me insecure - question his feelings for her - or any unresolved issues. Mr PA was like that at the beginning. She came to visit him on his birthday and was all over him and I was waiting for him to say something to her but he didn't. And if he still had feelings there I could understand, but don't play us both - well, I'm not prepared to fight for a man. He's either there or not. I started to pull away from him after that - not spend time with him - and without any prompting from me, he called her and told her never to contact him ever again. It could have gone either way. I didn't do it purposely, it was how I felt. That was 14 years ago.

You never need to live up to someone else. You only ever need to be you. And be loved for who you are.

I think it's dangerous to get in a mind-set where you say it's you (when in the back of your head you've got that voice saying it's not). Because it builds up over time and you are constantly question yourself, your perception of the situation. That's torturous. It creates such self-doubt that it seeps into other areas.

I think that when people play games, it's a control thing. Because they know it's them. But when confronted they try to make it yours.

Maybe your Piscean is feeling insecure and is trying to get a reaction out of you - some kind of jealous rise as a display of love or affection.

Thanks PA, I so appreciate your responses. I half think I'm going mad sometimes but haven't been like this with anyone else (jealous) and it has only occurred to me lately to think actually...it's HIM, and that HIS behaviour is inappropriate. I have started to pull away from him a bit too. After every incident I don't say anything now but just don't make myself available as I normally do. He just showed up at work unannounced after I'd just posted to you. And I didn't make plans to see him later or any time this week. This is a result of a 15 minute walk on Sunday where he flashed a big smile at a pretty girl, commented on the "amazing hair" of another and mentioned how wonderful his ex was because she "never ever says a bad word about anyone". It almost makes me afraid to go out with him. It's every time lately.

It's not me. I know it's not me. I just wish he wouldn't do it. He's going to mind-game himself right out of spending any time with me if he's not careful. His choice. Meanwhile I have to fight to keep my mouth shut and remember the self-respect thing. I'm not perfect by any stretch but this is deliberate.
