LOL Epic! You should get your children into the bear hat modeling industry. I am getting such a giggle over how many bear hats exist in your home. At one point I wanted to learn how to knit, so I could make animal ear beanies for all the monks and nuns at the monastery. Unfortunately I never picked up the skill and my dream died. LOL

Yep yep, life happens. I wouldn't expect the contrary. =)

I love that picture. I'm not sure if it's intended, but the curtains on her bed seem shell-like to me for some reason. I found your connection to the artist intriguing. I think the only thing I have that kind of primordial affinity with are crows. I don't remember growing up with them, but they always feel like home to me. I grew up surrounded by artists like Norman Rockwell, my parents were very connected to 1950's culture, so most of my artistic and musical roots grew out of that era.

I'll have to check out more of Andrew Wyeth's work tonight.

LOL Ahh the joys of being a fire sign, we know exactly how everyone should act and proceed to intentionally do the complete opposite. F**k the rules, I'ma Fire Sign! =)

You've got me wondering if Cancers are prone to being territorial like that.

In my experience, yes. Cancer is about personal space, how we feel in it, who and what we fill it with, and how we relate with those who enter it. When a Cancer deems a physical space "mine", many have a hard time letting other people utilize that space, without marking that space in some way. It's a bit like when someone asks to hold your baby. You may hand the baby over, but it is not uncommon for a mother to hawk over the person or maintain contact with the baby until their property is returned. In a way this is how they relate to Capricorn, what Capricorn builds, they have invested in and the same is true of Cancer. The difference is, the former invests time, energy, work, and reputation, while the latter invests connection, emotion, vulnerability, and care.

Where Capricorn builds a beautiful and stable house, Cancer fills that house with the sense of home. In non-ideal situations a Cancer can attach their emotions to their home so intensely, that they make a point of even peeing on their neighbor's yards to insure they know where their ownership ends. My mom, for example, does it by having chickens and peacocks. They cluck, call, and crow all day and sometimes throughout the night, yet she refuses to take any steps for repairing that problem. She also lets them fly all over the place, including the neighbor's yards. And if the peacocks are so mean to my garden, I can imagine they are not welcome in the yards of their neighbors. But the mom doesn't care, because it creates this barrier of "mine" both in and around her home. and keeps the neighbors from spilling over into her realm.

Random question, do you ever use acupressure on yourself? Reflexology? Reiki, can that be done on oneself?

Yes, but bodywork like acupressure can be difficult to do in hard to reach spots. Another thing to consider is the fact that having another person work on you, seems to be easier for dealing with negative energies. When you work on your self, you deal with the extra effort of not shifting accumulated stress energy out of one spot and into another. For example, if you work on your own neck, you may have to twist your body to reach, that causes energy to shift and settle in your lower back. So, there are extra things to watch out for when working on yourself.

Just got back from dinner with my Cancer in-laws, my husband's brother and his wife. (My parents-in-law were also both Cancers.) They are such enjoyable company, it was good to remember how well Cancer can play out for people who are sane and have their act together. My brother-in-law has leukemia and is in his late 50's, but half the year he works ski patrol in Colorado, and half the year he's an EMT here in southern PA. This year he's also doing orchard tours at a local orchard. I don't know where he gets all the energy...I think he just made some good career choices, always did what he loved and it was lucrative for him.

I try and convery to people that it will break my heart if he dies of leukemia but I get accused of loving him too much. Which sucks. This culture is too cold, you can barely state your affection for somebody before it gets twisted into something "wrong." I guess this bothers me, as a Venus-Neptune person, more than it would bother your average bear.

Oh! Hey, I just said the magic word!

Time for today's bear hat picture! (And no, I won't keep doing this every day, I'm just on a roll for a little bit)...

^ So this is my four year-old last year when he was three. He's Leo ASC/SN and doesn't mind going out in public like that. But then he has a Scorpio moon, and hates me saying, "Oooo you look so cute!" and trying to get his picture. So that's why he's got that "please go away" face on. Really, he is a piece of work. =)

Oh yes. I'm glad you acknowledged that, I didn't mean to gloss that over with my big promise of acceptance. Like you can't just say, "Tell me everything," and automatically earn the trust of someone. Each time you greet me with Namaste, I want to respond with the Buddhist greeting. Unfortunately it's a gesture not a word.

So -

It has a few meanings:

"My body, heart, and mind are present for you in this moment"

"Bower and what is bowed to are empty by nature. The bodies of one’s self and others are not two. I bow with all beings to attain liberation, to manifest the unsurpassed mind and return to boundless truth."

"A lotus for you"

I'm well thanks, I have been running the business while the mom visits Hawaii with her sister. The past few days have been spent in an office and it's a bit of a flash back. Nothing traumatic, just a gentle reminder that I don't ever want to do that for a living again. I wish I had the guts to make art for a living, but I never got into it. Who knows, maybe later.

While in the office I have been filling my down time with huge gulps of internet (the heroin of the new age). I like to search for horribly obscure (or British) TV shows and watch them online. I have recently discovered "Farm Kings" A show about a family of farmers who happen to also have insanely beautiful genetics. I'm not sure if I like the farming info or the guys working without shirts more (okay lets not bullsh!t...its the shirtlessness). I'm also watching a show called "Breaking Amish" about 1 Mennonite woman, 2 Amish women, and 2 Amish guys who decide to leave their homes and move to New York. It's basically Jersey Shore with severely repressed Christians. I think I got into the show the same way you can't help but watch a car accident. Finally the worst new discovery is called "Gigolos". It's about a group of man-hookers in Vegas. It's one of those shows that I catch my self staring at wide-eye'd and wondering how certain people would survive without places like Vegas. I like the whole "women feeling confident enough to employ an escort" aspect, but the hustlers are SO full of their selves. Like one guy has a kid in Texas and whines about not being able to see him, but refuses to move closer, because he can't be a ho in TX. bleh... too much TV

How do the words "loving too much" even make sense? I was desensitized to death at a young age, so my perspective seems pretty different from others, but I still comprehend grief. I think being heartbroken shows your depth of care. Next time someone says that, see how they like, "I'll remember that when you die" as a response.

I'm thinking it's a combo of Moon in Pisces and Scorpio ruling the 4th. I'm not looking at your chart this very moment, but having the "not-Cancer" signs ruling your Cancer influences is kinda like refusing to be a Cancer, but insisting on learning about the energy. Cancer should be (and has been) a big influencing energy.

I'm a bit of a snob about Reiki. It is very simple to learn, but that means anyone can become a practitioner. Which then means that people who don't get it are now attuning others.

I am also not a personal fan of Reiki, because it is McEnergywork. I think it is a great starting point for anyone who wants to get into energy healing, but it's important to know the person attuning you, and it's also important to understand that everyone has their own style of energetic healing. To become a good practitioner I have found it was important to continue exploring my own style of healing after being attuned.

Hello Xiiro,

Have you had your rice today? =)

My family was planning to go to Annapolis this morning for the boat show. I had an upsetting situation with my husband last night, however, and we are going nowhere. My feelings are pretty hurt and the weather is overcast. So I'm wondering how I will pull myself out of this funk... or maybe I should just go deeper into the pain and try to resolve things there. I just don't know what to do.

That's the question for the morning. Capricorns are so "good" at brushing our feelings under the rug that we can end up with some bad repression. Pisces moon sensitivity compounds this problem, putting a full mountain under that rug. I'm often torn between trusting my emotions (as I trust Pisces energy in general, for some reason) OR do I just barrel through the issue the practical way? I'm not inclined to repress this time, but don't know how to sublimate my hurt or move forward, either. It's like in order to adequately address this one seemingly minor incident, I will have to shift the tectonic plates of my whole relationship. Is it time? I've got Pluto near my sun and it feels like it's saying, "Do or die." But I'm so bad with words!

Gah...

Is this unloading on you too much? I don't want to. Just don't know how else to cover the fact that apparently, we won't be going to Annapolis after all.

*end of heavy emotional weather report*

Good analogy. I guess when I have to be around television, like at a restaurant, my expression is often pained. Usually, I wish that I had the telekinetic power to shut it off. I wish that I could make certain people stop talking, like news anchors rattling off the details of a gruesome murder in the standard "news anchor" sing-songy voice. Is that controlling or just me being sensitive and liking quiet, I don't know, maybe both.

Elvis was also a Cap sun, Pisces moon, and he actually shot the televisions. Which is wasteful but I love it. It's not the actors I hate, it's the format, fakeness, boring memes that have been around too long...you know what I mean.

Thank you for noticing. <3

Maybe it's because these people just don't know my brother-in-law. If they did, they would also consider it an especially great loss if he dies. Because he's incredibly nice.

He learned he has cancer while my father was dying...and I would soon have a miscarriage. Hard times. I guess because my brother-in-law was already on a deeper emotional level than my friends, dealing with his mortality himself, he said some things about dealing with my dad's situation that reached my loneliness and let me know someone actually cared. I hardly ever get a chance to talk to him, and nowadays it's just small talk, but if someone comforts you in a time of need, you don't forget that. And you want to be there for them if they ever need anything, in turn.

Is your bestie wicked smart? Please tell me more what her intelligence is like? My bestie's older sister is a Leo sun/Scorpio moon. She's FUNNY but has kind of gotten lost in darkness, more and more, over the years. Hard to summarize.

My son is Cancer sun/Venus 11H, Scorpio moon, Pisces Uranus, all within orb for a water grand trine. He's got Saturn conjunct Mars in Virgo in his first house, sextile Cancer Mercury. He is my most noticeably charismatic child. He also has big curly hair under the hats.

Regarding the Nassim Haramein movie, I'm amused that some of the material he's covering, I was already "initiated" into by a hard-core philosophy book that I once read. It's one of the only difficult philosophy I ever applied myself to comprehending. (You know, where they get so abstract and use so much philosophy jargon, it's like another language.) Anyway, this was a book on Science and God. It was refuting the whole First Cause theory by showing how every increment of time is infinitely divisible, and therefore, a first cause/first moment is fiction, because in reality, that doesn't exist. There was more to it that the years have dusted over and made illegible to my inner eye now.

Greetings and Salutations Faith!

No I missed my rice today, but oddly enough when I checked my e-mail this morning, I saw an add across the top which stated, " Arsnic In Rice? Click Here to find out more!". So perhaps it's okay that I missed my rice today. =D

I'm sorry to hear you had a frustrating night. I think this Mars in Scorpio can be a little difficult to cope with when not taken into consideration. A few nights ago my sister drunk texted me. She and I have not been on speaking terms because basically I am not interested in catering to her bad habits any more (it's a long story). I still love her though and when she texted me trying to instigate a fight, I diffused the situation kindly. She, being a Gemini, realized I was diffusing the situation and cutting off her ability to start a fight with me, so she proceeded to just spit expletives.

My first response was to write a three paragraph response about why she was such an unbearable person. Fortunately after I wrote it, I erased it and sent no response. That turned out to be the best response, because she e-mailed me a couple days later apologizing for being immature and acknowledging that it will take time for us to mend our situation. Hopefully that means she will decide against drunk e-mailing me in the future. There is a lot more to this story, but the above points are really the only parts that apply to my point.

Mars being currently in Scorpio makes things very tender, emotional, and retaliatory. I obviously can't comment on your direct situation, because I am not sure what all happened. Keep in mind that Mars is somewhere nearing, experiencing, or walking out of a square to both your Leo planets. So concepts like opinion, protocol, pride, loyalty, devotion, and respect become tender subjects.

I wouldn't suggest going deeper into feelings. The deeper you wade into a river, the more carried away you can get. Perhaps sitting on the shore, observing, and accepting what you see in the river will be less destructive. That is to say, when we sit with emotions openly, they unfold for us. Scientists don't need to drink poison to discover its chemical properties, and in the same way an observer doesn't need to sit inside a feeling to discover its meaning, origin, and properties.

So true, I think another struggle comes from the fact that Cap spends a lot of time learning to keep the outside at a maintainable distance, while Pisces wants to just absorb and dissolve everything. In a fight, you may seem quiet or less effected on the outside, but your Moon is sucking up the emotional environment like a vacuum. I wonder if you could elaborate, is your inner struggle about something that needs to be resolved in your interaction with your husband, or is it based on figuring out how to release all the absorbed energy (or in your case, make the energy constructive)? I can imagine him being a Leo, he has the capacity to be energetically big and possibly explosive, your energy could act as a blanket over a bomb that absorbs all that energy. But instead of immediately letting the energy go via dispersal, the Piscean/Neptune-Venus parts of you may unconsciously hold on to the energy as a sign of your devotion.

It's like in order to adequately address this one seemingly minor incident, I will have to shift the tectonic plates of my whole relationship. Is it time? I've got Pluto near my sun and it feels like it's saying, "Do or die." But I'm so bad with words!

When Scorpio is involved, the only way to move on is compromise (or murder lol). Everything sticks to Scorpio, they can never turn things off. From the first smack they received on their butt by the doctor, to the television show they watched 2 minutes ago, all those feelings are still present. They just pile on and pile on into one loud emotional cacophony. Scorpio literally never forgets, there is just no place for the emotional memory to fade away into. Instead they get to observe how the emotional memory changes over time and this teaches the Scorpio that experiences decay into a rich mulch which fertilizes our future growth, or to cultivate positive experiences to flood that emotional memory with joy (or drugs and sex depending on the Scorpio). When planets walk through Scorpio, the experiences which arise, stick with us. They are difficult to get over, because the universe is asking us to observe them and discover a way to use them beneficially.

Perhaps the key is doing something physical, perhaps you need to cry it out in the bathtub until the feelings have been transformed, or take a walk and enjoy the gloom of the day, appreciate nature's efforts to comfort you by surrounding you with a reflection of your inner space. Perhaps playing with your children will give you enough joy to overpower the hurt. You could always tell your husband to take the kids to the boat show and use the time alone as a mini-vacation. Or go with them and enjoy your time there. Whatever you decide, I think it is important you communicate to your husband. Even if you have to start by writing letters. Explain to him its easier to write than talk about your feelings and ask him to maybe write you back (time permitting). Perhaps you can build an interesting dialogue.

Sorry I can't be more help, I hope you are able to resolve the situation. =)

I believe the practitioner and the style have to match for optimum effectiveness. Many people will advertise "Oooo super mega cool energy work, channeled from the totem animal of St. Germain's long dead cousin's, husband's, sister's, pet ferret" and in some cases the energy work style is good, but they suffer from the same problem Reiki does. If I have a specific connection with the universe and I open your chakras, lock that energy in and then teach you how to use that energy to heal, you are using my creation as a healing tool. In the beginning that is fine, because it introduces a person to using energy as a healing tool. But healing is a personal experience, the more personal your energy, the more realistic it is, the more connected you are to it, and the better you are at understanding how it works.

People naturally do energy work in their daily lives. You strike your thumb with a hammer and it is your first reaction to grab it with your other hand. Your child cries and it is many people's reaction to physically comfort them. Systems like Reiki just teach us how to play with the energy we give off in those types of situations.

I was attuned all the way up to Reiki Master Teacher after receiving the first two degrees at school. My former teacher (the one who uses crystalline energy matrices), completed my attunements. When she first started attuning me to 3rd degree, it felt totally different. When I asked her about it her response was, "Eh, I tossed out Reiki energy a long time ago, I have opened you up and attuned you to being able to listen to your own energy. Though she used the same techniques Reiki uses for attunement, She was feeding my energy back to me and deepening my openness to it, instead of doing that with Reiki energy. I can't express how much better my comprehension of energy work evolved. Reiki energy would never have felt like enough for me, because it's not mine. It belongs to the guy who invented it and passed it on to his students.

Perhaps a Uranus in Aries exactly square Pluto in Capricorn, both squaring the Sun in Libra? Moon was also in Aries recently, so that could have factored in too.

That's a pretty powerful energy to contend with.

So much Cardinal energy, it has this Fixed sign shivering! I looked at transits...and Saturn is semi-square the Capricorn planets and Libra Moon-AC (both of which are centred around 14 degrees of their respective sign)!

And we were just speaking of semisquares the other day... funny how things turn out. Can't imagine the tension he'd normally have with such a harsh square. But hey! He was the only person who had a 99.3% average in high school..........

Now I don't wanna bring down some wonderful conversation with scary Capricorn-Libra squares...I recently made friends, ****** off, and got told to leave by this person who sent me this song. U kno, the only reason I don't really like Ceres ruling Virgo is because then if Mercury is delegated to Gemini, you can't have a natal chart where everything is in domicile.

Leo Sun, Virgo Mercury, Libra Venus, Cancer Moon, and so on...random thought.

That is one of the reasons I use dual-rulership. I don't think Mercury's rulership of Virgo has been changed, Sharing rulership with Ceres just states that both energies manifests differently in both signs.

In Gemini Mercury is the "Active" ruler and Ceres is the "Passive" ruler:

Mercury's energy manifests and is utilized in a conscious way (I'm a Gemini I think think thinky think, la lala lala). Ceres on the other hand manifests in an unconscious way. She is the underlying reason for why the sign obsessively hangs around with Mercury (I'm a Gemini and I have a subconscious need need needy need to associate with data and communication. I feel like I am being nourished and nourishing others when I acquire and disseminate data).

With Virgo Ceres is the "Active" Ruler and Mercury is the "Passive":

Ceres energy manifests and is utilized in a conscious way (I am a Virgo, I seek out what nourishes me and what nourishes others then use that knowledge to serve serve servey serve, la lala lala). Mercury on the other hand manifests in an unconscious way (I am Virgo and I discover what nourishes me and others through the acquisition and communication of data. I must have information if I am to be the best at nourishing my self/others).

I hope that doesn't just make sense to me.

If dual-rulership is used then there are actually a few possible domicile charts.

Sun Cancer, Moon Cancer, Mercury Gemini, Venus Taurus, etc..
Sun Cancer, Moon Leo, Mercury Gemini, Venus Taurus, etc..
Sun Leo, Moon Cancer, Mercury Virgo, Venus Libra, etc..
Sun Leo, Moon Leo, Mercury Virgo, Venus Libra, etc..

Something else to consider, if Libra gets its own ruler than a domicile chart would be impossible without dual-rulership too. That is unless Libra's ruler is found orbiting between Venus and Mercury. Rulers will eventually have to be given to Virgo and Libra, because they currently make rulership wonky. I think Ceres and Eris are perfect rulers for Virgo and Libra for several reasons.

The energies match
It separates the zodiac wheel as: Aries-Virgo inner planets / Libra-Pisces outer planets
It gives an inner and outer planet ruler to every sign except Cancer/Leo & Capricorn/Aquarius
It unlocks a new comprehension of our solar system.

!!

Eris and Libra would make sense...with the whole balance theme, one thing existing to counter the other.

Another thing that bugged me is the "new" planets. Like, the energies fitted and stuff, but like, if you look at Sagittarius to Pisces, it goes from Jupiter to Neptune, in order. But the Scorpio and Pluto are just outta line. As much as I love Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto, I could appreciate the "old" rulership system because of how...systemic it is!

But I like the dual rulerships thingy you have going...how does Sun (passively) fit into Cancer?

Cancer's Active ruler is of course the Moon who's energy represents our personal realm and all that we consider "personal". The Sun represents our unique individuality on the other hand and manifests in an unconscious way. This means Cancer energy is expressed as an individual, interacting with personal energies in a personal way. This is why Cancer experiences such fluctuating mood swings, because everything they experience effects their individual person in a personal way.

Leo on the other hand is the opposite configuration. It is expressed as a personal being interacting with individual energies in an individual way. This is why Leo is considered "dramatic" because they are capable of expressing individuality with a personalized flair.

^Ya and I mean like, I'm not opposed to it! I wouldn't mind exploring it, rly. And I like what you said about Cancer and Leo. Kinda explains why if something isn't leaving an impression, personally, on Cancer, they usually kinda drop it and move on. But then if it affects them on a close level, they wanna keep it close and stuff.

My Cancer friend has a Leo Venus. Then, with a Taurus Moon, she's pretty possessive. Hell, even in her dreams! She dreamt I was visiting her when some other girl she's acquainted with dropped by and she was all chatting me up, so dream version Cancer friend was all, "no! he's visiting me, not you!" so she sent dream me home.

'Afternoon Xiiro~

I've been wondering about this...did you mean that Eris would make a good ruler for Libra? If so, can you explain please?

So far, from my (admittedly limited) reading, Eris sounds like a cross between Aries hotheadedness and Scorpio depth. Maybe that's because Eris has been in Aries so long? (And it's beyond Pluto, hence the assumption of "deeper than Pluto"?) So I can't locate the Libra in that.

I was thinking Juno matches Libra, except that might overemphasize the social/marrying part of Libra and not cover the intellect and introspection.

Thanks very much for your email, will talk to you later. =)

That is fairly accurate, Eris as a mythological figure was the twin sister of Mars and is said to have reveled in the blood and suffering of battle, long after Mars had left the scene.

In mythology there are a few faces to Eris. Just like every mythological representation of a planet however, the whole story doesn't always apply to the energy its planet expresses.

For example this quote about Mars's mythological figure:

* His sister, Athene, called him "a thing of rage, made of evil, a two-faced liar." He seemed to delight in combat and violence for the pleasure of it. In battle, Ares was not the cool, commanding strategist his sister Athene was. Ares easily lost his temper and would rush into battle hotheadedly. He was driven by his passions and he paid for that unbridled personality by reaping the displeasure and disregard of the gods and men alike. He was considered murderous, a bloodstained mankiller, stormer of cities, and a coward who ran away when wounded. Indeed, when he was wounded in battle by Diomedes, he fled angrily back to Olympus, complaining to his father, Zeus, who rejected him again."

Some of that is true of Mars's astrological energy, but much of it comes down to one major point "He was driven by his passions". The Mars we as astrologers know is not an energy one would consider cowardly or two-faced (unless it is a tactic for getting what the individual desires) or hated by everyone. It gives us cause, along with the will to peruse our desires. That energy is very constructive and life affirming.

The same can be said for Pluto who raped and abducted his very under-aged wife.

So in that same spirit one must look at Eris in myth. The most popular story of Eris starts out like sleeping beauty. Eris (known to the Greeks as Discordia) was not invited to the wedding feast of Peleus and Thetis, because well, she was known for stirring stuff up. A bit miffed at being excluded, she tossed a golden apple into the crowd upon which was inscribed "To The Prettiest One".

That caused the goddesses to bicker over who the apple was obviously intended for, but the final argument came down to Hera, Athena, and Aphrodite. When asked to make a decision between the three, Zeus refused to get involved and instead turned the goddess's attention to a mortal named Paris.

The three goddesses appeared before Paris demanding he choose the rightful owner of the apple, while secretly offering him rewards for his favor. Athena offered him victory in battle, Hera offered him political status, and Aphrodite offered him the most beautiful woman on Earth. Paris awarded the apple to Aphrodite, thinking she would be his reward. Unfortunately Aphrodite was a goddess, not a woman, so instead Paris was aided in claiming the hand of Helen of Sparta. When Helen's husband realized she was gone and hooked up with Paris in Troy, the Trojan war began..... all because of a silly apple.

The second mention of Eris happens in Hesiod's "Works and Days":

"So, after all, there was not one kind of Strife alone, but all over the earth there are two. As for the one, a man would praise her when he came to understand her; but the other is blameworthy: and they are wholly different in nature.
For one fosters evil war and battle, being cruel: her no man loves; but perforce, through the will of the deathless gods, men pay harsh Strife her honour due.

But the other is the elder daughter of dark Night (Nyx), and the son of Cronus who sits above and dwells in the aether (Zeus), set her in the roots of the earth: and she is far kinder to men. She stirs up even the shiftless to toil; for a man grows eager to work when he considers his neighbour, a rich man who hastens to plough and plant and put his house in good order; and neighbour vies with his neighbour as he hurries after wealth. But Strife is unwholesome for men. And potter is angry with potter, and craftsman with craftsman, and beggar is jealous of beggar, and minstrel of minstrel."

This description talks about how observing others instigates us to improve our self. In a nut shell, that is the major point of Libra's energy, to thrive from our relationship and interactions with others. This is especially mirrored in the 7th house which is known as our house of relationships AND our house of enemies. The energy of Astrological Eris partially revolves around the subtle ways disconnection inspires us to pursue life.

Ruling planets can be seen in the inherent nature of a sign. Aries is naturally equipped with drive, cause, and will. Taurus is naturally sensitive to the defining qualities and values of their experiences. Gemini is naturally communicative and thought oriented. The same is apparent for the rest of the signs. I think a bit of a disservice has been done to Libra, because if dual rulership works, and if Eris is Libra's apparent ruler, then for a long time we have been focusing on the fact that Libra perceives an aesthetic world (Venus Sub-ruler), but ignoring the fact that Libra acts from a place of natural disconnection/separateness. Libra sees disharmony in a beautiful/valuable world and is drawn to finding, creating, and cultivating harmonies. Explained in more existential terms, Libra is a "self" in a world of intriguingly valuable "others".

Eris actually adds a lot of insight to Libra and makes it more understandable as both the sign following Virgo and the sign preceding Scorpio. Libra inherits Virgo's internal solitude, as well as Virgo's desire to interact with others in a constructive (or in Libra's case pleasing) way. Where Virgo cultivates skills to better serve others, Libra sees the disharmony in that mindset. Libra doesn't want to be someone's well trained subordinate, and they don't want others to subordinate to them. Instead they want natural unforced harmony, cooperation, equality, eye-to-eye interaction, and the discovery of a natural and respectful relationship which benefits all.

As the predecessor of Scorpio, Libra learns to see the disharmony in their perception of others as "separate". One can only take harmony so far, before the lines of separation begin to blur. Scorpio is the moment when that veil is penetrated. Libra also passes on their willingness to travel down any path as long as it is valuable. Libra is sometimes considered flaky, but they have the capacity to be a knight in shining armor. Scorpio takes this energy and blazes into the deepest and darkest realms unscathed.

Finally and regarding the darker side of Eris. Libra is the first sign of Autumn. The autumnal equinox is the apex point when the darkness, death, and disintegration of winter arise in equal strength to the light, life, and integrating energy of summer. It is the moment objects begin to unravel into subjects. It is important to comprehend cosmic scale when dealing with the concept of death in metaphysics. Destruction is not scary on a natural scale, it is how our universe remains a flowing organism. Gods who revel in destruction on a mythological scale can represent a capacity for embracing change. Libra revels in death by constantly reinventing their character. It is not uncommon for Libras to reinvent their selves at a rapid pace. In the morning they put on the clothes and mask of their work persona. After work they put on their gym persona. And after the gym, they assume a night-on-the-town persona. Long after Mars gets the job, Eris is reinventing the self in a way which exposes disharmonious factors within office politics. In a Career setting, we must find harmony in those relationships, for the sake of maintaining the object Mars fought so furiously to obtain.

As the inclusion of planets into the astrological pantheon has progressed, the more recent the planet's discovery, the more that planet represents "the edge of the universe".

When Saturn was the last planet. It represented our structured reality as being the edge of the universe. This is why Saturn is also associated with death, because death is the ultimate restriction of life, life can never continue beyond its own death.

When Uranus was discovered, the edge of the universe expanded to the ability for our structures to be completely obliterated, without damage to our idealized and creative self. We may see the universe as very solid in a certain way, but Uranus assures us there is always another angle we have not considered. Even after the death of one's body, the imagination remains, and Uranus represents that universal space in which our imagination plays.

When Neptune was discovered, the edge of the universe further expanded to a space of unconditional consciousness. While Uranus is trapped in a box of perspectives, Neptune is free to be everywhere at once. Nothing is hidden from Neptune because all walls saturate and dissolve in his waters. Beyond one's imagination is one's ability to be aware without definition.

When Pluto was discovered, the edge of the universe extended further to endless space and the capacity for all to manifest. Pluto's energy is like a bag that accounts for any size and any shape. Within that bag lives our universe and the energy within that bag never dissipates, but folds and fluxes into an infinite amount of forms, feelings, and experiences. Beyond unconditional awareness is the space in which that awareness manifests.

With the discovery of Eris, the edge of the universe becomes a paradox, "In order for a thing to exist, all other things must arise in contrast. Without contrast, existence can not occur". In more simplistic terms, "the chicken and egg arise simultaneously, because without one, neither the chicken, the egg, nor the person asking the question could exist".

How this applies to Libra -

Libra has no purpose without an external world. It is the first sign of the zodiac to interact with environment in a subjective way. All 6 signs before Libra interact with their environment in an objective way, directly related to their personal fulfillment (Aries "Who Am I?". Taurus "What Do I Have?", Gemini "What Do I Think?", Cancer "What Do I Need?", Leo "What Do I Create?", Virgo "How Do I Integrate?"). Libra and the following 5 signs view the world in a subjective way, directly related to public fulfillment (Libra "Who Are We?" Scorpio "What Do We Share?", Sag "What Do We Understand?", Cap "What Do We Need?", Aquarius "What Do We Create?", Pisces "How Can We integrate?").

Libra is an ideal vehicle for exploring the co-arising of contrasting forces. The energy tries to discover the value in contrasting forces and develop a harmony between both forces, using their value/beauty as a harmonizing or synergistic factor. Libra also embraces the idea that contrast isn't bad and should be afforded respect and non-judgment.

Juno is certainly a good candidate for Libra, as is Vesta for Virgo. It seems to me that there is an emphasis on concepts with Juno, which could already be covered by Venus as a sub-ruler. At this point there is no official word on any of this stuff. Eris has a sloooooooow orbit, so it is difficult to test out in a collective OR individual way (that is until a juicy outer planet transits Eris....hint hint Uranus). For now I am just playing around with both rulers and liking the results.

I tried not to ramble, but believe I failed.

Wowie...I woke up thinking about turning in a resume at this little taco shack down in the mall and what drink to order at Starbucks, but now I want to ponder life and existence and,

I wonder, I wonder, how "What do we share" ties in with Scorpio...I'm not sure if I see it, both in me, in other Scorpios, or in the myths and meanings behind Scorpio itself,

Have you been on fb lately, Mr. Xiiro? Did you see like, yesterday's news? My chart has been incorrect this whole time, apparently,

Heya Red,

I haven't been on FB recently, I'll have to check it out tomorrow as i am just getting ready for bed.

As for Scorpio, it is a hard energy to explain because one of it's main themes is "the unseen". Your Pluto is in Capricorn and I can only assume that enhances the calculating aspects of your Scorpion planets.

Scorpio arises in mid-autumn, the time when all the leaves are falling off the trees. This process is often thought of as a time when nature is beginning to hibernate, but the process is much more complex. From the time a leaf sprouts to the time it dies, it is hard at work photosynthesizing. Part of that process remains in the leaf and when it decays on the ground, those nutrients bleed into the soil. When trees shed their leaves, they are not just hibernating, they are creating a mulch layer. That mulch layer becomes alive with microorganisms, earth worms, and fungi which ensure the healthy continuation of the ecosystem.

SO

Here we can see Scorpio's relationship to the 8th House. The time where we die off, but leave our riches behind to nourish the future.

In regards to "What do we share?", Libra figures out how each of us can relate in the most perfect way possible. That conclusion is reached based on data (Air Sign). By the time Scorpio arises, there is a deep understanding that people are more than the traits which make them function in a harmonious way. People are entities, their is a part of people which goes beyond description and it is that part of a person which leaves a lasting impression and causes permanent transformation in those we meet.

Scorpio is "What do we share?" because true sharing is a nonphysical experience. Even the joy one shares between their self and a delicious apple is a deep, meaningful, and supernatural exchange. Though the physical nutrients of the apple will build your body and chemicals react with our tongue to create flavor (Taurus related aspect of the apple), those nutrients and your body are impertinent. The moment you shared enjoying the apple nourishes your soul, the joy you experienced effects your psychology.

Scoprio is about the way we effect our environment (and how we are effected by our environment) in a non-physical way. It also represents the legacy left over by those experiences. Each encounter becomes a leaf on the pile rich mulch, which later becomes the riches which support new growth.

=D

OhhhhHHHhh! So like, shared, as in the experience. I didn't think of the "Scorpio is beyond the sensations of Taurus", and therefore, things that aren't physical, such as memories or experiences. Okay!

Yep, except Cancer is more about the impressions or memories created by experiences and Sag is more about the meaning, lesson, and moral of each experience. Scorpio is strictly the nonphysical aspect of experiences, the hidden or unmanifest truth behind people, places, and things. It's the "ghost" of a thing.

This is why Scorpios walk around looking like vampires

LOL j/k

Hi Xiiro,

Thanks so much! That's a great little primer on Eris & Libra. I wonder if you would consider re-posting that somewhere, so more people get to read it. Asteroid forum?

In a nut shell, that is the major point of Libra's energy, to thrive from our relationship and interactions with others. This is especially mirrored in the 7th house which is known as our house of relationships AND our house of enemies. The energy of Astrological Eris partially revolves around the subtle ways disconnection inspires us to pursue life.

That is so good. Beyond astrologer, you could be an English professor.

I don't mean to be greedy but your analysis there was so compelling, I'm wondering if you might show how Sag arises from Scorpio and moves into Cap? And I'm curious what you'd say about Cap extracting from Sag energy and transmuting towards Aquarius? Only if it interests you to talk more about it.

Now that you mention it, my Libra sister-in-law is exactly like that. I didn't see it so much in much in my father, except that he always had stacks of books around his favorite chair, some of it fiction, and he would switch books a few times in one reading session. He might have been living vicariously through his characters without mentioning it to his kids.

I really am sold on your explanations here.

*clapping* I love it!

I'm finally replying to your post way up above, too.

I'm glad things worked out okay with your sister. Your approach reminds me of something Marianne Williamson once said (I'm not really a fan of hers, but she can be smart.) It's common sense, but it didn't occur to me until she spelled it out: sometimes people just need a little time to realize their mistakes. You don't have to point it out to them. Then they tend to be grateful that you gave them that space to re-orient themselves. This is also similar to how you described the Leo tendency to act and then think about their actions a little later.

Everything sticks to Scorpio, they can never turn things off. From the first smack they received on their butt by the doctor, to the television show they watched 2 minutes ago, all those feelings are still present. They just pile on and pile on into one loud emotional cacophony....When planets walk through Scorpio, the experiences which arise, stick with us. They are difficult to get over, because the universe is asking us to observe them and discover a way to use them beneficially.

Interesting! So, Saturn is now in Scorpio, somewhere around my IC...Mercury and soon the sun will be there. I have a feeling I am living through some unforgettable times.

That is really funny and really sad, all at once. I'm bored to tears by most of what I see on TV, but then again, since I don't have TV reception, I'm always having to watch whatever is on at the restaurant or friends' houses. It's not like I am an informed connoisseur of the programming.

This was about my brother-in-law, who has leukemia. I doubt I would ever tell him anything like that, because then the floodgates would open and I'd be crying. I'm very bottled up around him. When I tried to help him and his wife look at alternative treatments for his leukemia...well, that didn't go over well at all. Since then I have kept a respectful distance...I believe that's what they want, so that's what they get. On a more positive note, they are both so warm (both Cancer) that a lot of friendliness gets transmitted both ways, even through small talk. That's how it is.

What kind of energy? Or I guess I mean, where? In the body, auras, or in the air all around?

OMG so true! I watched about 50 minutes of that video, still have a bit more to go and then I will probably want to talk about it with you, if you're up for it.
