That`s pretty general description but it sounds kind of like a Lychee. A tropical fruit that I know can grow well in FL.. http://treesandshrubs.about.com/od/fruitsnuts/ig/Tropical-Fruit-Photo-Gallery/Lychee.htm When it comes to bud, take pics of leaves, flower then the fruit. ------------------ The Earth Laughs In Flowers ... Wow! I don't remember it growing in clumps like that, but that does resemble the fruit a lot! And it edible. That's nice to know. I'm so excited that you figured this out. I wonder if it's often use as a decorative tree in housing developments. I live in a Condo, so this is an [Home Owner] Association tree.Chinese people enjoy using the dried flesh in their tea as a sweetener in place of sugar. http://www.hort.purdue.edu/newcrop/morton/lychee.html I wish I could find a good picture of the bark. On my tree is fairly distinctive, and would be a good way to confirm that it's a lychee. IP: Logged |

Cool beans! The standard tree grown in the states is about 25 foot but there is a dwarf variety about 10 feet tall with smaller clumps of fruit even single fruits sometimes. Do take pics when it`s time! ------------------ The Earth Laughs In Flowers ... R.W.Emerson IP: Logged |

Lychees are used as specimen trees so an Association could certainly use them.

The trunk looks cool how it swirls with vertical strips of the bark peeling off.IP: Logged |

I don't imagine that will be much of an issue. I don't think they require much advance notice. (In the event you procrastinate, I hope I'm not wrong about that. )I thought that maybe I'd be using you as an excuse not to visit my family next month. Guess not. I really should decide soon if I'm going down there. IP: Logged |

Much as I'd like to help out.....I'm not gonna be able to change that date, so yeah, you might have to decide soon I think the morning trips get booked up early, and the later ones mean the island is very crowded. I've done my research you know. It's the only research I have done mind! IP: Logged |

The rain is falling outside tonight. I'm contemplating whether I should open my patio door, so I can experience it as I sleep.IP: Logged |

Jealous. It snowed again this morning. Just a little wisp, and it will apparently be sunny and 50 tomorrow, but I had to resort to cheap humor to make my morning less grey.. I am looking forward to nice naps on my 3 season porch this summer with the rain falling.. IP: Logged |

I'm processing a loan for a borrower born New Year's Eve 2010. How a zero year old has been able to rent a place for two years, and hold down a job for seven I'll never know.IP: Logged |

Our clients are mortgage lenders. They made the error. I had one not too long ago where the borrower wasn't to be born for another 16 years. The bank I work for is kind of an interim funding source for our clients. They send their loans to us in order to obtain the wired money faster for their clients. We then send the loan on to the investor our client has set up, usually one of the big banks like Citi, Chase, GMAC, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, etc. Eventually, those big investment banks buy the loans off our clients, and when our clients get that money they reimburse our bank (plus interest, of course). Probably! She knows everyone in the business over here. She's been in real estate/finance for about 20 years. She works for a local (statewide) bank now, but has been in corporate gigs as well. IP: Logged |

Receiving news that the radiation from Japan is going to miss hitting your area, while seeming to be nice news, is kind of unsettling. They also said it would be diluted, which is kind of what I'd expect, but still...not cool. It will be reaching Southern California where several family members live.IP: Logged |
