ghani, that pic looks like here in fall. I live on a hill and the back looks over the lake like that. I imagine Maine is very similar to NW MI in flora and fauna.------------------ What we do for ourselves dies with us. What we do for others and the world is immortal"~ - George Eliot IP: Logged |

If you're looking for cool, I think you'd look at white, light blue. If you're looking for cozy, think a bit darker like a deep brown, black, gray. If you're looking for something really comfortable (this is my opinion) combine a rich green and brown. It's a touch masculine, but I think it puts people in an earthy sort of mindset. Maybe it's just my earthiness that responds to it that way.
Depends on the rooms. For the living room definitely something cozy. For the kitchen I want something warm, because hey its the kitchen. For my room something calming and serene. But if I choose a darker color should I paint only one wall? The ceiling only? This is some stuff running through my head.

Settling in to watch Disney's Tangled. Edit (it's later now): I decided to try to buy a new video card for my computer today, so I can attach dual monitors (one for each personality ), but thus far I've learned that my computer, while having an adequate expansion port, can't accept an upgraded power supply which is necessary for a new graphics card. I just got this computer last year. I can't believe they'd sell a modern computer that can't be upgraded in this way. This is a very common upgrade. I'm on chat with tech support at HP trying to work out how to do this. IP: Logged |

I would see how it feels after one wall. That could be enough. The ceiling can go wrong, so I'd just recommend picking carefully. You know...there are fairly inexpensive interior design programs for your computer out there. It might be fun to practice with your space virtually before taking on the painting. Also, (just because my friends did this, and it looked bad) don't use gloss paint in a space not subjected to water on the walls. Shiny looks weird in a family room. (I haven't had the chance to properly experiment with my own ideas, so I'm just guessing based on watching HGTV. Just thought you should know. I do like interior design, though, and would certainly try my hand at it given the opportunity.) IP: Logged |

After seeing matte paint on walls I was brought over from the "other side". I live in a fairly humid area where condensation collects on the windows and you have to constantly fight the mold that likes to grow on it.I saw a ceiling painted light blue once and I really like it. Maybe some sort of combo like that for my room; light blue ceiling and some sort of light color on my walls. IP: Logged |

Sounds good. Good luck!I'm listening to 80's music right now as I wait for my friend. It's transitioning from Melt With You to Madness! Nice! One Step Beyond. Love this band. IP: Logged |

Disney's Tangled. Was it good? I just watched Legends of the Fall again. It just tears me up. Have you seen White Squall with Mel Gibson? ------------------ What we do for ourselves dies with us. What we do for others and the world is immortal"~ - George Eliot IP: Logged |

Would it be redundant to paint the ceiling blue when I can see the sky perfectly from my window?IP: Logged |

Tangled was good. The songs at the start of the movie were below par, but the rest was good. Not quite a Disney classic I think.Littlecloud, I don't think it would be too redundant. IP: Logged |

I'm on my phone right now, so I can't give you a picture, but what it is is something I got from meta_4. It says:
Creative people pay it forward I promise to send something handmade to the first 5 people who leave a comment to this update. They must in turn, promise to post this and send something they made to the first 5 posters on their status. It must be handmade by you, and it must be sent to your 5 people sometime in 2011.
If you'd like to be one of my five, I'd be happy to add you (or I suppose we could even do a thread about it here). IP: Logged |

Juni,I'm concerned about your not having better internet, so I'm doing a little research. Questions? Contact us at broadband@michigan.gov. http://www.michigan.gov/broadband You can choose your city here, and see what's available: http://broadband.theispguide.com/urlfilter/state.Michigan/findcitystate.html (This site was slow for me, but I clicked on Petoskey just to have a look, and it suggests that Verizon is only $20/mon for life. Of course this site could be out of date or something.) Oh, this might be a good one: http://www.connectmi.org/ It has an interactive map that can show providers, and I think this site was created by your government. IP: Logged |

Ahh, you were on 80's music, so that is why I got the video! Funny, I was just thinking about 'Stop The World and Melt With You', yesterday. I was in high school when that song came out, and it was so overplayed, I would cringe whenever I heard it. Now, I can't get enough of it. Life is sure funny. IP: Logged |

My friend and I actually heard Fire Woman in the car today. I thought to myself, "Who do I know that is a fire woman who would like this?" IP: Logged |

I'm considering financing my next vehicle purchase through Prosper.com. It's a cool concept. You can list your own loan including terms (I don't think there are a lot of options for terms besides length and interest rate), and then investors including friends and family can fund it.With the exception of the recent acquisition of a CPAP machine for $13/mon I'm completely out of debt, and haven't bought anything on credit in years. My credit report is blank at this point, which is actually preventing me from obtaining credit now that the banks are tightening up their credit standards. IP: Logged |

Thanks AG! Frontier took over Verizon the first of the year ( my error in saying Verizon) so I will have to redo that but you gave me a great start. Yeah, CPAP is the breathing machine for sleep apnea. I looked forward to getting it, thinking that it would help keep me asleep. No such luck. I chose the wrong mask. I chose the bulkiest one that goes over the nose and mouth. I have sleep apnea the least when sleeping on my side, which is my normal routine. That mask is not great for that. I think I'm going to have to switch to a less bulky one.Regarding the internet, it looks like Michigan is really trying to get broadband to everyone. I hope you find a good solution. If you can use a phone for dial-up, I'm surprised you can't use it for dsl. IP: Logged |

Sorry to see you go Evanski, girlfriend (said laughing at self).Firecracker also seems to have gone awol? AG - I am still here, but find that I really don't have much to say. Your car idea sounds ace in theory, apart from the fact that if you lost your job or something, it's your friends and family you would be defaulting on? I wish I had something more uplifting to say!! Time for bed and a book I think. IP: Logged |
