Oh, good grief, Writesomething.

Some quotes from that thread.

quote:
we dont interact now but she is still the same for me , my respect and love for her is same and will always be the same

quote:
I feel ****** would blend in well here....I really like her...she is gentle and I think she would be a good person to have on this board....

quote:

Yeah, I really like her, too.

quote:
I would be very happy to see ***** here....she is lovely......

I looked carefully, and, except for a comment about people having mixed feelings about Pid, I saw nothing even remotely hurtful or judgemental in that thread.

Can you find one, Writesomething?

Get a life, people.

it wasn't very kind....and it was deceptive in knowing that a good portion of the "community" here had it's own little community wherein there was an onoing, public discussion of the intimate things shared here. then to return here and interact...it seems kind of dishonest.

of course other people from here have started their own boards, or gone elsewhere, but they didn't hide that and then return here.

"we've been outed again..."

Indeed we were outed again.

I have heard of other boards as well, though I am not privy to where they might be.

Is it any more deceptive than carrying private conversations in e-mail or PM, as others here admittedly do?

When you have to worry about every private detail of your life being harvested for use against you by cyberspace-stalkers, a place where you can get together with old friends and chat openly without fear of reprisal is a godsend.

That is why care was taken over invitations. So that that atmosphere could be preserved.

Felt like there was something going on behind the scenes. Nothing at all wrong with having another more private community, outside of LL.

The problem lies in judging and talking about people behind their backs. I did miss all the posts. Why were they all erased?

Talk about sick feelings. Climb down off the white horse, already. God. Where on earth do you get the basis for a statement like that, oh Righteous One?

To the best of my knowledge, the posts were erased so that what had been said in private would stay that way.

it's not as if email is shared among a large group of people, and available to anyone who happens upon it. just as some conversations are private, and not carried on in a public place for everyone else to hear.

if it was so harmless then why was it closed down so rapidly afer having been "outed"?

Privacy, pure and simple. Would you like it if all your e-mails suddenly became public domain? Even if you had nothing to hide at all?

Of course not. No one would.

the basis? from what i saw there, from your furiously desperate attempts here to deny and defend something that so obviously has a reason to fear being found out by people who share their lives with you, only to discover that you ridicule them behind their backs.

it already was public domain....being shared with anyone who found the place, or who was 'invited' in...

email is not the same as message board.

The reason people weren't invited had a lot to do with people's feelings about privacy. There was a bit of a war preceding the creation of Kindred here in LL, and at least three people left at that time (that I'm aware of): Sue G, ********, and ********. This board was created so that we could keep touch with ****. (Of course, she came back to LL after a time.) (Another one of those people started their own board as well, but I only know of it's existence and haven't gone seeking it out.)

Since people felt a little burnt here perhaps they desired a place where they could let loose, and be with people they could really trust.

Furiously desperate? Heh, do I come across like that? Well, it pains me to admit it, but I may have a bit of a perverse interest in Internet-drama. And it's my character that is being slandered here, too, afterall.

But I ridiculed no one behind their backs, and I can not remember an instance in which anyone else did, either. I do recall a conversation about Lotus, and how her trolling here is making LL into a very unpleasant place for some, but that is the extent of it.

But do excuse us for our shameful desire to chat with friends without trolls reading over our shoulders.

are you serious?

semantics?

email is private, a message board is public.

your desperation is sounding more and more shrill.
