the first time i saw magus in gu , someone called his remarks "idiocy" , and i defended him.....

a few posts later he started spouting off with his crude insults.....i asked him politely to stop......

a few posts later he was threatening to kill jwhop....

BUT....
Consider what insulting verbage he is responding to....
I do not think he means to be so brash...but he is being honest and responding with an eye for an eye. And he does defend in from his heart. It is his way to just say what is on his mind without holding back. Personally I appreciate that. But I do see how it would be a dangerous thing if this was the way everyone acted...especially in response to angry outbursts and stupidity.

This is not a good thing for public discourse. It does not make you appear strong and noble except to those who understand you and the motives and heart behind your intensity!

I don't give a damn that Bush is a public figure and he won't or can't sue you for your lying slander. Bush isn't aware you're alive and probably would consider it a badge of honor to have you lie about him personally and his record.

I'm talking about a basic rule of fair play, fair comment and knowing the person you're talking to has at least a sliver of honor and integrity. I don't see any of that coming off you, some others here and some who have passed on to greener pastures where they can get high fives for lying about Bush without having their noses rubbed in their lies.

Just keep in the back of your mind that it was your leftist crowd and then you joined that crowd who deliberately decided to take the low road with lying personal attacks on Bush. Remember too I offered real discussion and debate on issues and attempted to warn you and others off that path before I really opened up on you and some others here.

In my book, you got and you're still getting exactly what you deserve. You've earned it, so sit back and enjoy the fruits of your labors.

As for the relationship between Randall, Pid and myself; I don't know what the hell you're talking about Mirandee.

I like what I know about Randall which isn't much, having a very few contacts with Randall over the years and those consisting of emails to forward some information to another member....including some information to Sniper Boy. Other than one 2 minute phone conversation when he ran into a mutual friend I was talking to on the phone. Trust me, neither you or any member past or present were any part of that conversation and it was several years ago.

I like Randall and I respect him and the effort he puts into LindaLand. He's one of the good guys in my book and I like the light hand he uses in riding herd on an unruly bunch. This forum is going to produce heat but Randall lets people have their say, even when it's not what he wants to hear. Whatever views Randall has, one side or the other is going to be opposite what he personally thinks, has to be with the polarized views here. Still, to get banned here, someone has to really be trying hard, not making a political point or defending one and be so far over the line into race, gender or some repugnant area that is totally outside the pale.

So, that too is not fertile ground for you to be plowing Mirandee.
