My saying it's a privacy issue is true. One of our friends over there whom we met here didn't ever want to come back to LL, and she didn't ever come back here as far as I know. She felt comfortable and ok in a small group atmosphere and that's all she wanted.

I'm sure it's more convenient to believe that we were all over there bad-mouthing everyone from LL, but given the knowledge of who was over there and chose to participate, do you really think these people would be involved in a hate group? I wouldn't even be part of something like that, and would've outed the site myself if that became the case.

I don't think anyone gives a damn whether you guys went and formed your own private forums - it's a free country. I don't think anyone really gives a damn that they weren't invited. But the idea that a bunch of people are commiserating about you, deconstructing and making jokes and rude comments about people when they're not there to defend themselves...

Again, it's a free world, but you can't expect someone to feel good about it or not think you're pretty sad for being that way.

And I agree that if people have nothing to hide, there would be no reason to delete the site wholesale.

I learned a really tough lesson in 7th grade that I've taken with me ever since, and I think some could use that lesson: never say something about someone that you couldn't say to their face.

Oh, and this: people that will talk TO you about other people, will talk ABOUT you to other people.

Really?

Well, someone just sent me a little something. No doubt he was cringing watching me defend your little site.

So, just so everyone knows what sort of website we're talking about here and because you insist on defending its complete innocence ...

Tink ~

That quote is disgusting, no matter where it was posted.

quote:
just so everyone knows what sort of website we're talking about here
But now you have effectively set the tone for how KS will always be perceived in the future. No matter how many things I might copy in that show the spirit of love and togetherness and deep communication that DID exist there, Magus' post will be all anyone remembers I'm saddened to read what you quoted and I don't condone such vituperative tripe, but it's the first time I've seen it -- just as I don't read every string at LL, I didn't read every string at KS.....

The very fact that kind of crap is ok at that site DOES set the tone for it.

"the spirit of love and togetherness"?

What part of sitting idly by while someone who is part of your "safe environment" is so base and vulgar about someone who is not even there to defend themselves, constitutes "the spirit of love and togetherness"?

I never claimed it was your kindred spirit Magus' post - but thanks for clarifying for everyone.

Several people have claimed that the site was just a "safe place" for "sharing any idea, with any content, without having too worry about who was gona flip out", "for friends to come together" and escape "uneeded highschool styled dramas". AG's quote that I repeated topped it all. Well, I'm sure it was all those nice things at times. But it was also this. If people deny it, someone will prove you wrong.

Stand by it all. Be fair.

I appreciate your desire to escape the reincarnating ones. But it seems you jumped from the frying pan into the fire.

Given the above quote, I might actually prefer Lotus.

I'd like to think that Randall would have banned this person. I wonder why AG didn't?

Wow! I don't remember reading that.

There are a lot of things he says in haste that I don't agree with, but Wow! What's the rest? Was everyone jumping on the bangwagon with him saying how terrible you are?

Well gee wiz AG, you don't remember it, huh? Golly gee, whaddaya know?

How about this - you delete that last post of yours, find yourself a quiet corner, take a minute or two and see if you can't concoct a more reasonable, believable reply.

and the rats jump ship .....

You sound like Reagan.

*sigh* AG, you're tap dancing and it doesn't become you.

It appears that website of yours wasn't exactly the tea party you made it out to be.

I wouldn't post anything said about anyone else. That's up to them.

Oh god, Tink!

That had to hurt....I'm so sorry you had to see that...*sigh*

Sometimes it's really true what they say, "What you don't know..can't hurt you."

If anybody knows anything bad that was said about me...PLEASE DON'T TELL ME! I don't want to know...

Just a little hint for next time....

Many forum clients have the ability to password protect forums. Next time I'd recommend spending the extra $10 to get a forum that does that. Then you can password protect it and have TRUE privacy.

An open forum on the internet in which you can find posts by Googling a user's name does not really constitute a "private" place, and never did.

I find it funny that some scurry when the light gets turned on...not unlike a certain insect...

That's a good question Juniperb. I guess it's because the majority of posts were innocent.

Lots of embarrassing things happen in life. If you let the embarrassment define you then you may set yourself up to live your life in fear.

I don't feel that Magus expresses what I think. I don't think all the members here express what Randall thinks. Should Randall suppress, edit or remove words written in haste from an emotional place that lacks decency and tact? I've not witnessed where Randall's done that. That said, though, I probably should have. I prefered a fairly hands-off approach, though.

So what !?

I went too a place amongst my freinds and troubed their ears [as freinds often do too oneanother] with my lamentings of what ever it was you posted around here that made me sick at the time, dont even remember what it was you said too inspire me too write that at the time- trivial what ever it was.

Either way, even if I took the time too polish and suger coat what I was sayin or just posted it here as is too you- what good would it have done too say it here for you to read ?

We already established that we dont admire oneanother a long time ago TINK. I think that alone was all the honesty you and I needed between oneanother.

So go on as you and a few others already intended too do- take our quatations out of context, focus on one or more selected phrases from what was once our personal safe haven amongst freinds, and dont forget too leave out any details that will show "the more posative" reflections of what KS was.

Like I said, those who want a drama are going too find an outlet and stage too set about creating one anyway.

And for the record,, maybe I do need to learn too curb my sharp tongue better, even if Im under the impresion that its amongst under standing freinds at the moment. But I do stand by what I said even there, even if it was just a spontanius childish lament at the time I stand by it and my rite too express my self in a human way from time too time.

As a Plutonian you ever consider it better too go air out your frustrations elsewhere, instead of blowing up in the persons face without taking the time too think of a more productive way of sharing your anger with another . I didnt think LL needed any more stinging threads of arguing then its alread had.

Yes writesomething-

just like that, thats the ticket . Dont forget too make a big deal, and find excuses for who too take sereously or not based on little points like them not bothering too care if their poor spelling is going too have them percieved as a fool or intelectual midget.

Good job in a world that has had profits and wise men sent from above who couldnt even write or read.

Any other tactics I could help sugest for you too encourage publick viewers too never grow and evolve past judging books by their covers ?

Hey heres an idea, we could round up every last copy of the ugly duckling story, and burn them all in a big blazing bonfire, and push for legislations that will transform our publick school curiculums into nothing but 8 hours of media telivision for our children too watch at school everyday. That way no one will ever head not listen too anyones view that doesnt fit the complete status qua and polliticaly correct agendas [what ever those are defined as at the time].

Keeeeeeeeep up eht guuuud wwwworc mi frend !

I fail to see how privacy figures into the equation. If you post anything you wish to be private on the Net, you are foolish. Search engines spider for content all over the Web.

I see what you're saying. My only answer is that as long as no one is searching it stays pretty private.

I'm not that paranoid myself. That's why it remained open registration. There were additional privacy measures available that I never looked into that I would still be skeptical about as far as whether or not they protected from the prying eyes of Google.

Sorry for the delay. I was taking a shower.

Yes, I realize not everyone is like me, and I can honor their requests anyway. Some people wanted total privacy. Others, some of whom have shown up here, weren't terribly concerned. There were a number of people who kept their LL names even, which evidences that they weren't that concerned with Google.
