I don't decide who speaks privately, because the rules apply to all, and I realize it is absolutely horrid that an exception was made in your case, but out of respect to Rie, I felt that if you could make her feel better, then it was okay. AG is not sexist just because you( or others) perceive him to be. To me, he is not. That shows that the label is in the PERCEPTION, not the actuality.------------------

AG likes the opposite sex. And he is polite, kind, and respectful on dates with them. Calling him sexist is like calling someone who only dates Asians racist against Asians. How can you be racist if you LIKE their race? Personal preferences and what or who people are attracted to is biology and conditioning. We can't choose it. I do think AG has had some bad experiences, and I do think that sharing those experiences is very healing for him. If the women here would show him that his experiences are the exception as opposed to the rule, instead of just labeling and going on the defensive, then he might experience a paradigm shift.IP: Logged |

People are allowed to have different opinions, your comment above is assuming your perception of reality is accurate. Faith is allowed to think what she want, even if you don't agree with it. I don't think anyone who says that they do not respect anyone who stands up for women's rights unless they have had their genitals mutilated has the right to tell anyone what they should think about 'sexist' language behaviors. I think if we pick AG as the new mod here then the gender threads need to be moved somewhere else. Otherwise, the issues we have had in the gender threads are only going to be worse. Exactly. If I am sexist for being hard on women every woman who has ever said negative things about men or judged men based off of her past experiences is sexist too. I don't know about the rest of you but I have seen this behavior in lots of women, in fact I think you would be hard pressed to find a woman who doesn't do this or hasn't done it at some point.The only difference is it's politically incorrect to say anything unflattering about woman/women. All I know is I see atleast one woman posting negative statuses about their boyfriend or Ex everytime I log into facebook. And I read the comments and nobody calls them a misandrist or negative and the funny thing is the guys commenting are never mad! They are supportive and try to be positive. IP: Logged |

He didn't bash anyone. He said that women complain about men. Isn't that true? Sure it is. That's both human nature and common knowledge. But there is a double standard, in that when men do the same, they are called sexist. What we should be doing in this Forum is trying to understand one another, instead of resorting to labeling. If it's not right for men to do it, then it's not right for women either. Equality is equality. Both genders are of equal worth.IP: Logged |
