LOOK for that olive branch This is my personal code. If someone does me wrong and desires to be reconciled with me, they will humble themselves, own what they did and ask for my forgiveness, by e mail, not on here.
I don't take amorphous olive branches dancing in the wind when someone has done very wrong things to me.
This is for a personal reconciliation with me, if that statement was directed at me and I want to do it by e mail and in private, not on here. ------------------

I kind of expected you wouldn't want to mod but still wanted to nominate because I do think you would be good. --- Personally don't think private forums would work as it seems that people aren't so much arguing against each other as the impression they have of each versus the boards impression .. ^ That has been part of it, but the larger issue I think is just freedom of speech, plain and simple. If two members want a private conversation, that should be no big deal, no need for paranoia that all hell will break loose, or to suspect they are scheming and up to no good. There are perfectly legitimate reasons for privacy, ie "I would like to confide in YOU, because I trust YOU, not the whole board." And some very enriching friendships can come from that. One of my very dearest friends, I met on another forum years ago, and it all took off when she said, "Let's PM!" I literally inhaled a deep breath KNOWING that was going to be the start of a lifelong friendship. And so far I am right. Not that we couldn't have forged any bonds publicly...but what you say in private tends to be more personal and therefore a little more binding. Privacy can open up the potential for a process to begin, that may not have begun in a public sphere. IP: Logged |

@Ami I don't even know what to say to you. I feel like you are hitting me with an olive branch there, and that is too confusing for me to deal with. I thought of Randall.Once when my Teacher was sick, and all these unruly children thought they could decimate every worthy candidate for the role by nature of their nastiness, there was only one solution.
