Since this Forum is breaking all-time records for traffic and is also quite contentious as of late, I am needing another Mod here, preferably a very active one. Nominations and volunteers encouraged.

I wouldn't mind being one,but only if everyone feels it's alright.

I wouldn't mind seeing

MetalAphrodite she has endless wisdom and humor which could contribute nicely to this forum.

Thing is, things become very very personal sometimes in sweat peas

Hags and murdering potential?

the most effectively moded forum I've participated in demanded one discussed topics, not other people, however sweat peas involves really personally important topics and that nature means..it will get personal.

I could do it.

But I will say that my peaceful, maternal vibe would become considerably more direct if/when I see people chucking insults at each other (directly or indirectly). By "direct", I mean that I can be somewhat curt and occasionally blunt. But I do try not to be rude or insulting (I'm human, though...need to work on the snide factor when I'm irritated).

I also don't take sides. A lot of the people I really like and care about here don't like each other. It doesn't affect how I feel about anyone. But my patience is limited when it comes to being outright rude and insulting, regardless of how much I like a person. And I'm not a fan of making threads that dissect any one member publicly.

So there's all of that to consider. I think I've laid everything out on the table that would need to be laid out in volunteering, at any rate.

Who's up next?!

Thank you for the nomination and kind words, AqMoon . And thank you to those that seconded that nomination.

I'm a mod at another forum that's like a free for all. While the SP seems tense sometimes, imagine an entire forum being this way! The only instructions I was given at that place was that I'm not allowed to ban people, delete posts, or close topics. We're supposed to use our force of personality to monitor things, which means the angry mean side of me comes out to deal with people who get personal and try very hard to hurt me on purpose.

I said a while back on here that I like how this forum bounces back no matter what's going on. I know it gets tense sometimes, but like a true community, despite our differences, I believe that everyone shares care for one another and would not try as hard to talk to the other person if they did not care about that individual to save from faults, whether or not that is welcome.

My family also communicates in this manner too, so I'm not really fazed by passionate arguments or anything like that.

This is one of my favorite quotes and I love applying this to tightly knit online communities because whether we like what someone says or not, it doesn't change the fact that we contain shards of that person's life that has deeply embedded itself into our own lives.

"Our family's little now, and we don't have many toys... But if you want, you could be a part of it. You could be our baby, and we'd raise you to be good."
- Lilo, Lilo & Stitch.

I can say with utmost confidence that I won't forget those of you who have braved enough to even share a piece of your true self with me and that I will never forget your contribution in raising me to be good . Hopefully, there will be something of me that you can use to raise your Self to be good too :3.

No offense to anyone else, but of the choices here AqMoon and Metal Aphrodite seem the least "involved", which I hope would increase the chances of having the ability to see "both sides" if it should happen to be necessary (which it most probably will, given this forum`s history).

Of course that is just my opinion. I just noticed that things can get really heated here, and these two have been staying very calm and cool-headed in the midst of it, as I observed.

I've done that out of respect for others, as I don't see how I should jump in and tell people about past forum history I have no awareness of.

SP doesn't need people who are aware of past history, but people that are not a part of the fray to objectively make decisions and balance things out.

I don't agree with the assertation that new mods should be chosen on who is most aware of or who is most involved in "fights" in this forum. I think something new should be tried, but that's just one opinion.

Your posts number almost 6 times as many as my count, meaning that you have invested a good amount of time in the community and I could either read neutrally or take offense to what you said. I had decided before responding that your intention was not to be rude at all, but expressing genuine concern for what's best.

That's ultimately my concern too, whether or not a modship follows it.

No, it certainly wasn`t my intention to be rude, and I am glad you could read that between the lines.

I really just am concerned for what`s best for the forum, and in my view that would be someone like you or AqMoon, because I believe (or hope) your objectivity could help a lot to maintain the balance.

And about the high number of my posts, most of these come from my involvement in the astro-forum, not really from here. It`s just lately that I was reading here more, cause usually the vibe feels too exhausting to me, and I don`t want to get too emotionally involved.

I don't see how AqMoon is impartial, seeing as how he is so chummy with certain members here. Just saying. Violets seems to be the most impartial if impartiality is the criteria.

Thank you, Randall.

It's true, though. I haven't the slightest clue as to what people are talking about when they reference whatever happened between them in the past (and it could be anyone, about anything...it seems to happen often enough).

But I'm going to get my netting up before the birds steal any more of my strawberries!

I would agree with that,we all have our few selected on here that we get along with on here.

I think Violets...would be another excellent choice.

Thank you!

I'm sincerely sorry that I don't know most of you well enough to weigh in...

Somehow, we must not frequent the same forums often enough, or directly interact with each other often. Or if we have, it might have been lost in the jumble...

I know that everyone has good points, and I'm sure that everyone who volunteered would be wonderful in their own way. I wish I knew you all better, maybe we'll interact more as time passes. I hope so.

Were Sibyl not so fantastically busy in real life, I would have nominated her in a heartbeat.

Is that a dig at me?
"certain member"
He likes me;
and others who are not Ami's fan club.
Not sure who these "certain members" are; except again;
must be all non Ami fans;
which includes Charmaine by the way if you did not realize it.
I do not know him well, but he has never been evil or nasty to me or others (unless I missed it?)
like some of the people deemed of so called "highest character" here; ie; fans of Ami.
I am not making any attacks here but wonder why those of us who are not fans of certain people are deemed of low character.
Charmaine was very hurt by that inference on her character as was I and others.
It does appear we all have been labeled as lacking goodness since we do not worship Ami.

Yup. I second that. You're up, Randall!

In other news, about my previous post...
If I HAVE interacted with some of you more than I realize, and somehow spaced it, I apologize.

K, back to my strawberry patch for real now. My son and husband are back with my new Schwinn, so.

There's work and play to be done and had.

Randall,

of course I can only write from my perspective and from what I observed, and naturally I donīt read every post, so I might have just not noticed what you write about AqMoon.

But that`s just it, I have not observed it yet, and thus formed my opinion on my observation alone.

I agree though that Violet would make a good candidate, too. Just from my perspective and from what I have read on here on the forums.
