I just had a reckless streak. I loved the adrenaline. I just had no fear when it came to going fast but....

I just read through this whole thread, and I have to say... What a headache! Something I have noticed more and more on SP lately is that people are getting really cliquey. It's great that people want to share love and all that, but it often means that others are excluded and it makes a great basis for forming 'camps' whenever any issue of contention comes up. For this reason I think we need someone as Moderator on this forum who is independent first and foremost, and is well liked by most groups second. For this I think Violets and MoonWitch are great candidates. Faith also has her own independence and is not afraid to tell it how it is. I think she would work well with Ami, perhaps even their relationship would improve if they were allowed to focus on issues outside themselves to cooperate on. As with Ami, Faith is also good at reading between the lines and picking up on veiled insults. I understand, however, if people are worried about her strong personality, though I think it would be a good exercise for her and I think she would surprise you. As for the wish to have a man join the ranks here, I think it could be a good idea provided there are good candidates that are willing to accept the job. I agree with the people who mentioned Xodian, YTA, and 7thGuardian not least because they are independent, well liked and do not adhere to any cliques as far as I can see. AG I think does a wonderful job at not getting personal (and would not, I think, hit below the belt), which I greatly admire him for. Yet I do think it will be difficult for him to maintain a balance because he is not very good at expressing himself according to audience. Although I hardly blame him for engaging the criticism against him on this thread, I wonder if it will be difficult for him to moderate if he keeps giving people so much ammunition against him (on other threads). This is something that I think will have to be taken into account since we are discussing him as a Moderator. DeepFreeze is perhaps the dark horse here. I think he could do a great job. I know there has been some contention with him in the past, but I do actually think he can be quite diplomatic and he does have some self-irony which is great. He is also dependable, and does not, I think, take offense too quickly. I do worry however about his association with BG. They form quite the little clique together, and have been a contentious pair in the past. I think it could potentially place him in quite the dilemma. IP: Logged |

Sybil, you bring up a real concern and I have thought of that myself.
I won't get into much detail. I think it could work out though. We've both already agreed with each other to not be contentious, before this and regardless of the outcome.
If, for some crazy reason I am seriously considered, people can ask for more information on that. Randall privately if he wishes.
Others are very good options too.

By the way Randall, I actually hope the gender discussion is not moved out of SP. Allot of the discussion here centers on it, and it is not always contentious. I think gender, sexuality, and experiencing difficulties with the opposite sex often figures into things like depression and maturity and I hope we can keep discussing it here, even if we don't always agree. Anyway, that's just my two cents on it. I realize there are good reasons to move it too, and the final decision is obviously yours. IP: Logged |

DP, I'm glad you are not offended with me for raising the issue, and I hope BG is not as well. I think I would have to raise the same question to any couple here. Indeed, even Randall and Ami have been criticized for being too chummy, and they are neither in a relationship nor live together. I have not been on here these past few weeks so I wouldn't know. Anyway, I didn't mean to indicate you are not able to be civil with her. I just think that being Moderator would place you in a slightly different position than you are now, and not just with regards to Ami. I was wondering whether it is a place you would like to see yourself as it would likely restrict your ability to voice your opinions. Sybil, I agree with your point on cliques, pairs, etc. I know this counts me out as a choice for mod, too, as I'm close to quite a few of the Capricorns here. But yes, my vote would go for members who aren't too close to a few others, so you won't have the risk of them being partial or even accused of it. Just to be safe. IP: Logged |

People do not see the entire picture, even Randall does not always see who started attacks;
like certain attacks on Charmaine and Catalina and myself and others.
So when I am finally goaded far too long by a haters and blow up because they attacked other members unprovoked and me unprovoked;
then I look like the one who started it. 
That is what clever sly manipulative attackers do; goad and attack indirectly until I and others blow up and get the blame as the attacker planned. 
Randall has told me to take the high road many times and I have done so. Yet those times the attacker was allowed to get away with it again and again and again. There have been several down through the years and eventually they blow it and Randall finally bans them for attacking and harassing folks.
So please do not paint me out in a negative light when you do not know the whole story.
And from what I have seen you are buddies with my main hater so you will of course badmouth me for her sake.I am tired of this crap over and over.
It takes me a long long time and many repeated unprovoked attacks on myself and others before I finally lose my calm. This reply was NOT meant as an attack on anyone;
but as a defense against negative biased things the above poster has said about me without having all the facts.
Really am very tired of walking on eggshells, fearful of speaking out when folks are being abused,
and not belonging in the cliques I am a convenient target.
Surprised I have not been voted off as a mod by some mods and some members since it seems many hate me here especially my main hater and the buddies of my haters. Big thanks all you nice folks here who do try to get along
