Check out the asteroid nodes too. They seem to work just like the planetary nodes seem to work.
but the orbs have to be small
no more than 1 degree unless it repeats a pattern, you could probably stretch it 1/2 degree
the geocentric ones move relatively fast.....they return to their positions every year......they are personal energies
the heliocentric ones move very slowly...slow as fixed stars......they are collective energies
http://www.true-node.com/pos/
if you have a planet, point that aspects both the heliocentric AND geocentric node of the object,(especially if they both conjunct the planet, point) then it's significant. After all the heliocentric node is moves as slow as a fixed star and geocentric node returns to its natal position within a year. So obviously, they have much different travel rates.
for example
asteroids:
Hermes - Greek God of Commerce,Liars,Thieves,Shepherds,Cowherds messenger of the Gods, guided souls to the Underworld - the Roman version of Hermes is Mercury
Apollo - the Greek/Roman God of Light,Prophecy,Healing,Truth,Archery,Music - He was also known as the Sun God in place of Helios, Sol (the Sun)
Rayhe - using for Ray
Laurentia - using for Lawrence,my biological father
Hermes in 3'16 Pisces
conjunct Moon in 3'11 Pisces
square Saturn in 5'08 Gemini R
square Neptune in 1'48 Sagittarius
Geo South Hermes Node in 5'07 Scorpio
conjunct Sun in 5'20 Scorpio
Helio Hermes Nodes in 4'54 Taurus/Scorpio
oppose Sun in 5'20 Scorpio
Apollo in 13'10 Sagittarius
oppose/conjunct Midheaven/Imum Coeli in 11'14 Gemini/Sagittarius
square Ascendant/Descendant in 13'27 Virgo/Pisces
sextile/trine Lunar Nodes in 10'30 Aquarius/Leo
Geo South Apollo Node in 5'38 Scorpio
conjunct Sun in 5'20 Scorpio
Helio Apollo Nodes in 5'53 Taurus/Scorpio
oppose/conjunct Sun in 5'20 Scorpio
Laurentia in 25'27 Sagittarius
sextile Mars in 25'54 Aquarius
Geo South Laurentia Node in 6'10 Scorpio
conjunct Sun in 5'20 Scorpio
Helio Laurentia Nodes in 6'28 Taurus/Scorpio
oppose/conjunct Sun in 5'20 Scorpio
(it's over the maximum 1'00 orb....but seeing how my Sun conjuncts the South Geocentric Laurentia Node, it makes sense to count it)
Geo North Rayhe Node in 6'10 Scorpio
conjunct Sun in 5'20 Scorpio
Helio Rayhe Nodes in 6'27 Scorpio/Taurus
conjunct/oppose Sun in 5'20 Scorpio
(it's over the maximum 1 degree..but seeing how the Sun conjuncts the North Geocentric Node, it makes sense to count it)
is it a coincidence that on the day that I was born and my mom named me "Raymond" with Ray being short for that name with my being the son of Lawrence, there happened to be a conjunction of the Sun,Geocentric North Rayhe Node,Heliocentric North Rayhe Node,Geocentric South Laurentia Node, Heliocentric South Laurentia Node?
I really don't think so!...especially with Sun is considered the father in the chart, and I have it conjunct Geocentric South Laurentia Node and Heliocentric South Laurentia Node, and my biological father's name was Lawrence. I also wonder with it being South Nodes, I wasn't meant to be with my father. I was meant to release him because some say that South Node has to do with releasing. I never knew my biological father. He left when I was a year old. He was pretty much just a sperm donor.
I even have the asteroid,Scotti in 5'23 Scorpio and the asteroid,Ariadne in 5'03 Scorpio conjunct my Sun. Scott was my father's last name which I never had. I have my mother's maiden name. I read that Ariadne had to do with abandonment. I have a
Sun-Ariadne-Scotti-Geo South Laurentia Node,Helio South Laurentia conjunction that indicate my being abandoned by my father, Lawrence Scott.
The Heliocentric Laurentia Nodes and Heliocentric Rayhe are in exact opposition to each other. The Sun aspected that nodal opposition. that's not a coincidence! the same with the geocentric north Rayhe Node and geocentric south Laurentia node being conjunct each other exact!
I don't think that it's a coincidence to be born during a conjuction of Sun,Geocentric South Apollo Node,Heliocentric South Apollo Node, Geocentric South Hermes Node, and Heliocentric South Hermes Node either.
Apollo and Hermes were paternal brothers with them both being sons of Zeus. One of the stories was that Hermes stole Apollo's cattle which made Apollo furious. Hermes invented the lyre, and Apollo wanted it. Hermes gave it to Apollo, and Apollo gave his caduceus.
Apollo was my favorite deity when I was into mythology as a kid. I wonder if my strong Apollo influence is more about being a healer of some sort.
what is also weird is that I have the asteroid conjunction of Apollo and Aesculapia conjunct/oppose my Midheaven/Imum Coeli and square my Ascendant/Descendant axis. Aesculapius is the Roman version of the Greek God of Medicine,Asclepius. Asclepius was the son of Apollo and Coronis. Apollo killed Coronis because she was messing with another guy. He shot her with one of his arrows, and he saved his unborn son. I even have asteroid,Hippokrates stationary oppose/conjunct Ascendant/Descendant axis and square the Midheaven/Imum Coeli axis.
Hermes was one of my favorites too.
my strong Hermes influence emphasizes the strong communications themes in my chart. Hermes involved in my t-square could indicate the problems with communications/information processing that I have. When I was in the navy, I was Radioman in message processing center in Communications Dept. Hermes was known for his speed, quickness. I was a very fast runner, very quick. Coincidentally, I even have the asteroid Jesseowens conjunct my Sun within 1 degree. Jesse Owens was the Olympic gold medalist in track who put a huge dent in Hitler's Aryan Supremacy at the Berlin Olympics. Jesse Owens was a black man who lived in Jim Crow days just like my father was a black man that lived in Jim Crow days. I was on track team, but I was on there briefly. I had to quit because of bad grades.
With Hermes being the guide to the underworld, it could mean the Hermetic mysteries. It could also be about psychoanalysis. I have Mercury in Scorpio in 3rd sextile Geocentric Pluto Node that can also indicate that.
but yeah...I believe asteroid nodes work. it doesn't matter geocentric or heliocentric. the seem to work just like planetary nodes doe.
also Zipporah Dobyns wrote a book, The Node Book which was about the geocentric planetary nodes, the geocentric nodes of Ceres,Pallas,Vesta, and Juno as well as the lunar nodes. She was into using asteroid nodes.
I really don't like referring to the lunar nodes as "nodes" because it implies that only the Moon has nodes when actually all objects have nodes. Nodes are just the intersection of the planes of reference involving 2 objects. Even Ascendant/Descendant,Midheaven/Imum Coeli axis are technically nodes. That's the same with Vertex/Antivertex axis. Astronomers always record the nodes of objects.
it's Asteroid astrology stuff that strengthens my belief that Astrology works.
asteroids finetunes and shows a story.
with just planets,it's vague because planets have multiple meanings, rulerships
just check out Rex E Bill's Rulership book, and you'll see what I mean. there are like over 5 pages to cover 1 planetary rulership alone!
