well for me it is this way:i dont believe in coincidences...they simply dont exist.

Cause in fact,if we decide to look inward, and work in ourselves,we will see that looking outward, the Universe works at our own rythim.

when you say coincidence,it is a situation or event that is synchronized by the Universe to tell you something.

this Higher Force/Origin"Source/God whatever you may call it created ALL.

and ALL has its own purpose.even the Planets.planets dont impell, they influence just like asteroids.and each one is there in the specific degree and sign.in the right mark. They show what is already there.they are hints torwards a knowleged that can only be seen by those who have an open heart/Soul.

Those who leave spekticism, rational thoughts aside.they are only ego´s mechanisms..and as so,they are simply clouding our own Higher Self.

it is only when you decide to exppand your awareness, your spiritual Self, that you will really understand the workings of all of this.

in the meanwhile you can be curious, ask questions, conclude and doubt...nothing to worry about.

But i would not try to convince someone who is not open to see beyond the appearances it is worthless.

about the sun-aprhodite..generalizations are always "sins" if sin does exist...

but you see,as each one of us is in Essence, different.we will also have to show that same differences in the charts.

Aprhodite is only one Goddess. but other asteroids personify beauty too: Isis,Persephone,Psyche,Kaali, nefertiti, kleopatra, guinevere,Musa ect etc...

i bet that every person who can be considered beautiful,by some people, have one of this type of asteroid cj or sun, venus, asc or IC.

hmm i can ask you this- did you saw the aspects i posted related to my meeting with my partner?

what explanation do you give to the adorea-hanna cj and adorea-Ana cj in the same day? what is the probability number of that?

the main thing about all this asteroid discussion is that:

Asteroids are IMPORTANT to those who are already spiritually awaken and aware.Asteroids work at a vibracional level that is different from the planets.

Simply as that...so its importance or influencing process wont be felt by specktics really...

The only true knowledge available is our connection with God, not astrology or anytihng else.

Sins?
Don't get me started.

Living without skepticism is NO WAY to live at all!

By all means, the proof is in the pudding.

And when you mention all of those goddess asteroids, with additional points of reference i.e I.C, etc...

You are just validating the fact that if we look hard enough, a connection will be there, even when it isn't.

God is everywhere and God is everything really..so dont you think that astrology is also God+s thing? it is actually a funny engine that this great Architecth created for us to play with

i love to see how He works things out.

Sins?i dont believe in sins or Hell...everything in this plane is relative in appearances for us to be able to discern, and to practise the Arbithrium...but if you really see how things really are...there IS only the ABSOLUTE...it is we,humans that create our own downfall.

we tend to create problems, doubts, fears in order to occupy our Minds/Ego..but if you let go of that you will reach the Truth that sets the Soul free ...

Skepticism, as an analytical philosophy doctrine can be applied in several areas.. including in arguments for and against the existence of a monotheistic God.

^ I've taken many a philosophy class, and be warned as I'm in a time in my life where truth is becoming more and more real to me.

And that truth is GOD.

I've already been over that links entire content of points in my college education. Moving on.

i m not trying to convince you of anything.i dont need to.im not ego drive you see...

i know for a fact that living WITH SPEKTICISM is the best and fastest way to die while living.

you are alive in psysical plane but dead inside....on the spiritual plane.and who we really are...we are not what we think.not at all.

as for God,i believe that what he asks from us is to experience Life though love, forgiveness and tolerance.

he created astrology so he knows that it is also a tool as anything else he wouldnt have created things for us to step aside and dont use it...

why do you say He prefers praying? do you believe that if i dont pray or if i dont go to Church that i will go to Hell?

God is so much more than that...

i used to be catholic you know.but like most religions they use fear to make us do what they want us to do.to take control over us..lke a parent that prefers to punish the child just to keep the authority and the ego satisfied, rather than sitting side by side to her, showing love,care,tolerance...understanding..

we are educated to live life by the standars of society.by rules by norms, dogmas and other+s belief´s...i know better that we arent supposed to be like this...like sheeps living under the pastor´s demands...

you seem to be one catholic or Christian that only believes in what you see...what if what you see is not the real deal?the truth..?

have you ever thought about it?

Don't get me wrong. I do have spiritual beliefs on a personal level..

But, in agreement to your initial comment re: skepticism.. I think we should keep an open mind. That's all.

This isn't about sinning or prayers, it isn't about religion or one type of God.

It's about us as human beings and what we are choosing to define our lives with.

When we choose something to believe in, we color our lives with this theme.

Now think about it, One who believes in Astrology is going to relate astrology to EVERYTHING they experience.

And One who believes in God is going to color their lives with everything God represents. The more you know, the more you will live this way.

It's the same for drug addicts, rapists, etc. They believe in something and make it their reality.

So If you are choosing to believe in Astrology, and choosing to let it define your life, then that's your own free will. Hence the point made in the BIBLE. God gave us free will and the tempations that come with it. What better way to prove our character than by being tempted with such tools as astrology?

But in my opinion, (and I'm not trying to convince anyone either) it seems that God is the only beneficial way to live life. HE has the answers to everything in everything, in every way.

With God, we don't need A Soul Mate. With God, We don't need to check progressions to see if someone was meant to come into our life or not.

With God, Happiness just IS.

I know you guy's are probably thinking 'well why are you here then"
Good Question. I'm not sure. I know lot's about astrology, but I'm skeptical of course. And that's where I'm at today.

But I'm leaning more toward God now.

So skepticism is only valuable to you in as much as it critiques views that you are either unsure of or against?

The same degree of skepticism is not valuable regarding a topic upon which you have SET ideas and views - such as religion/spirituality... Is that correct?

i talk from my own personal experience of course.

i learned that the more you try to rationalize something,it is cause deep inside you++re trying to convince yourself of something that you feel it might be..uneasy to deal with..or that there is something strange that frightens you so your Mind starts to act ,and racionalize in order for you to take control.and to keep your life secure.

if you think about it: look at events in your life that were the most...magical...the ones that made you...pop!Or feel that there is something out there which you cannot explain but you Feel...

were those events...racional?Did all of them had an explanation that your Mind peacefully accepted?

i can say that for me,the most outstanding moments in my life were ALL INCREDIBLY IRRACIONAL.CRAZY.MAGICAL.UNEXPLAINABLE...and LIFE is supposed to be that way!!Happiness and bliss and abundance in all that you want.

i dont believe for a second that all that is the "truth" is all that has a racional explanation,a scientific approach...quite the contrary

we are born to be happy.in perfect evolution, and that doesnt involve to be always seeking and digging with Mind, but instead finding with the heart, using intuition, listening to what it tells you and acting with Faith.Faith in something that is BEYOND.Faith in ourselves, even and specialy when others around dont believe in us or in our Intuitions.

....i know some people here understand perfectly waht im trying to say...if only i didnt had Merc in my 12th...

Actually, the whole astrology system itself doesn't have any solid proofs to support itself (there are some theories around, but none is actually solidly proved yet), yet many of us are still using it, just coz it seems to work and make sense. So this is just like asteroids - many of us that uses it are using it coz it seems to work and make sense.

But well, it seems that one of the problems discussing here is how relevant asteroids actually are. I've noticed a little misunderstanding here, coz it seems that whenever some assume that asteroids are valid, others might assume that these users of asteroids assume that the asteroids are as important or even more important than the planets. But in fact, most of the asteroids users already know that the planets are the main structure, while the asteroids are just complementary.

So resuming, are asteroids valid? Just like the validity of the astrology system itself, I don't know. But just like the astrology system itself, it seems to work and make sense.

And how do we prove it? Just like the astrology system itself, no one seems to have solid proofs yet anyways, but through statistical research, we can still prove that the system can be reliable.
But well, even thought we can't prove that astrology or asteroids really works yet, how can we assume that they don't work? One thing is to not to believe in something, but another thing is to assume something as not valid. And isn't it true that if we assume something, then we need proofs to back it up too? In other words, if we assume that astrology or asteroids doesn't work, then we need to prove it with solid proofs, just like we need solid proofs to assume that they work.

Actually, I'm skeptic of both asteroids and astrology. I'm using this system while it works and makes sense, yet I also take things with a grain of salt. Yet I think that a healthy skeptic is a skeptic that is skeptic of both the validity and the invalidity of a theory/system when there are no solid proofs for either the validity or the invalidity of it yet, which is, in other words, really remaining open to all possibilities while there are no solid proofs yet.

oh lol Thanks for your reply Diandra.. but I was referring to rasberri's intial comment in which she says "skepticism is absolutely PIVOTAL to life as we know it".

Or something along those lines.

Here it is:

quote:
Living without skepticism is NO WAY to live at all!

Ever hear of Philosophy? Thought so.

Only to later contradict what she said by enforcing her own beliefs in God.. an area where she refuses (seemingly) to accept any skepticism whatsoever

I was wondering how these two - apparently - conflicting ideals sat with her.. as a current (or former) philosophy student?

I mean.. rasberri - I was thinking you should develop an argument defending your idea that skepticism is logically necessary in some circumstances and entirely irrelevant (or vacuous) in others. Shouldn't there be some criteria?

I am assuming you studied analytical philosophy, but I do apologize.. if it was continental.

Vapor,

That is not true, as I am very skeptical of God as well. But In my experience, I've learned that living without God is not Good. So that's why I said it's the only way to live or to be truly happy.

To put it more clearly, my life tumbled outta control when I stopped believing in God about 3-4 years ago. I got into Astrology for a NEW belief system... You see what I mean?

Humans NEED a belief system. Were nothing without it.

Even Atheists BELEIVE there is no god, correct?

SO What is your experience with this? Are you content in life?

And Vapor I welcome ANY skepticism to my belief in GOD, hello that's why I said it.

You obviously have no idea what I'm saying here, because skepticism is needed in life.

If not, how would we be so advanced in our lives today?

Science is NOTHING but skepticism.
Astrology isn't even a scientific theory yet while multitudes of other pursuits have surpassed such a stage.

Hmmm

i believe in astrology and i use it as a tool.if it defines my Life? no...i am the one who defines what i want to live.wether counsciously or uncounsciously.

the same way you choosed to be specktic with astrology, you will EXPERIENCE in turn that astrology doenst work for you.

you are your own Genie in the bottle you see...what you get is what you think.

that is why im not going or try to convince you about something that you cannot cope with.

talking about God..We are part of God too..so you dont need to try to know Him.you only need to know YOURSELF.

when you do that, you will know who God IS.

and you+re the one who has the answers...if you think about it...Praying is the same thing as Law of attraction...you+re only asing the Universe what you want.and if you pray in the "right" way you will get what you re asking for...not what you think you need..but what is necessary for you to live your Higher Purpose.

i discovered that my answers come mostly through dreams...all comes from the subcounscious.all the knowledge is guarded there..within you.not outside you..

Ok then I think it should be perfectly fine (from your perspective) to accept any belief system.. including astrology.. although some don't look at it as a "belief system".

You said:

quote:

I assumed this left no place for skepticism. since you used the words "the ONLY true knowledge available" - as though it was a fact, and not your opinion.

I think of Astrology as the Psychology of understanding God which I believe is everything. I am a pantheist, and so I believe that all (pan) is god (theist). I don't believe in a male God nor a female God. I believe that God has no sex. If I believe that the soul has no sex, then I believe that God doesn't have one either. I believe that we are all mixture of yin and yang energy, and so I believe that God is too.

I will tell you straight up that Astrology is part of my religious beliefs, and so I do believe in Astrology. I also believe in it as a science. The science of God. In that way, I feel the same about The Vedic Astrologers that see Vedic Astrology as a divine science, and so they refer to it as Jyotish , meaning Science of Light.

If I believe that all is God, then I believe that definitely the heavenly bodies are also God, and that we are studying God and using it understand God's will. I believe that God has a plan for all of us. I believe that we can understand God's plan for us by looking at our birth charts which reflect our life purpose for incarnating and looking at transits, solar arcs, and secondary progressions which indicate the lessons, experiences that we go through. I believe in free will, but I also believe in fate and destiny. I don't know about you, but having the asteroids of my stepfather and father 10 minutes conjunct each other in my 4th house doesn't seem like a free will thing. It seemed that my stepfather was destined to replace my father. My mother met my father during a solar return which had Sun conjunct an asteroid of my father's name. She didn't plan on running away to another city where she met my father, especially not at the age of 15. She met my father 8 months into her Solar Return.

Well there is no skepticism with myself Vapor, but I welcome other people's point of view to challenge mine.

And a good argument to myself that none of you mentioned:
Astrology may have not a place in the science world, but neither does God.

We have to confront these parts of our realities, and know that everything cannot be proven; and it seems the most important are the hardest to prove doesn't it?
