I mean there is the everyday reality we have to face ie. pay for bills, have money to spend etc.. how do we handle this life expectations? if anyone would like to share their experiences, that would be great!

In my experiences, good things do come to me in form of "invitations". Sometimes when I least expect.

In one of my posts on this thread I mentioned that I recognized other people's abilities. I do, and I've given many people a little "push" in the right direction. But for some reasons sometimes I focus too much on what I can do for others and what they can do, and I sort of "forget" about myself. It's pretty weird how sometimes my abilities are a blind spot for me, given the fact that I spend a considerable amount of time "reflecting".

To answer your question, I'll tell a little about one of my recent experiences. I love children's books. They are the inspiration for my little sketches, stories and illustrations. I've been doing that for years as a hobby. I never showed them to anyone, for no particular reason. It just slipped from mind. My s.o has been living with me for nearly 6 years and he didn't even know. By chance he discovered them while tidying up my work desk for me. And he brought them to people who said that they would love to get them published.

But still, I initiated the best things in my life - detachment from my family, my relationship, my current job..etc... In my current job I can't do the waiting thing. Have to go out there, "sell" my ideas and convince people to fund my projects.

According to tradition and scientific evidence, ginseng possesses this kind of equilibrating tonic, antistress action, and so the term adaptogen is quite appropriate in describing its general effects."

Ginseng also counteracts fatigue. The problem is its hard to find good quality ginseng. If you're interested, here's a website to a source I know. I just checked the website and they give free consultations.

Thank you for this info Peony!

Ah, the good ol' Ginseng! Perhaps I can find this particular one at china town in my city!

Human Design Projector Webinar - The Basics

I'm posting this very long webinar about Projectors because this presenter uses some key words, phrases, ideas that I think we can build on.

I'm still thinking about Projectors, EA, waiting and invitations.

92% of the population's strategy is to wait. 8% are Manifestors and are supposed to initiate. The other 92% are Generators who need to wait and respond (not to what they think should be happening, but to what is actually happening), Projectors who need to wait, be invited, and then respond, and Reflectors (I'm sorry. I don't know a thing about Reflectors yet).

So there are the Manifestors who initiate, and the rest of us who wait. How the rest wait is determined by our aura mechanic (Projector, Generator, Reflector), and how we respond is determined by our Inner Authority.

It's helpful to compare Projectors and Generators because Projectors who are not aware that they are Projectors usually behave like, and think they are Generators. This is because (1) the education system (American) is designed to produce Generators (so we are all taught we're supposed to be Generators), and (2) most Projectors spend all day with Generators absorbing their energy, and amplifying it.

With this in mind I think how a Projector waits can be determined by his everyday activities, his environment, and his own conditioning and instincts (which maybe can be seen in the natal chart).

I think it is better to say "be and wait" than just "wait".

When a Projector focuses on being, a good deal of the struggle with waiting is removed. Living by our code, following a discipline, studying a science (natural, religious, spiritual...) gives us something to focus on. Having something to focus on helps us to contain our energy and control our desire to focus in on the other without invitation. We won't miss anything by not focusing in on the other. We are absorbing the energy of our environment anyway. When we are called on for assistance (and if the project is right for us) the answers will just come to the surface, like from a deep well, whether the question or dilemma being presented to us is something we are actively studying or focusing on or not... However, it does make sense to study or focus in on something connected to our intention.

Having something to focus on also helps us to be recognized. Like I said before, our focused energy is experienced by the other without intruding upon the other. The other feels the intensity of focus, or the true essence of freedom in the Projector's code, or the magnificence of whatever it may be that the Projector is doing within, and then the other extends an invitation.

I have always studied religion. Not because I am looking for the truth in One, but because I am looking to extract the universal truth from All. This is a very simplistic description of what my personal focus tends to be, but this is an example of a focus. It can be anything.

For a Projector, the quickest way from point A to point B is not a straight line. The Projector starts at point A with clear intention (what do you want in/from life) and then does not start to pursue the intention, but focuses their energy on whatever draws them in- whatever interests the Projector. The Projector finds the quickest way from point A to B is to set intention, and then "be" or "focus", and accept or decline invitations using their Authority. It's almost like actively being at A gets you to B. (maybe we can clean that up a bit)

Sometimes before we can focus we have to deprogram and recondition ourselves. This brings me back to what I said above.

With this in mind I think how a Projector waits can be determined by his everyday activities, his environment, and his own conditioning and instincts

Here's an example, and one of my stories

When I left home, I was a homeschooled, country girl, raised by spiritual seekers. I was basically a wolf girl. My peers, all went to Uni like they were told, my brother and sis included. I went exploring. I had a very heavy (or condensed- not sure the word i want to use) and attractive aura. I got invitations from everywhere, and I didn't have the sense to turn any of them down. By the time my children's father met me just a year after leaving home, I was into everything. I'll give some hypothetical examples to give you an idea.

I did things like spend my time working at a cafe in a college town, pose nude for artists, volunteer at a soup kitchen, do respite work, and run drugs for a dealer.

I was learning the way I like to learn. I was very popular and in demand. And I was quickly becoming worn out, drained, and depressed. When I think of it now, I see it as my Mars being completely out of control, edged on by Neptune's greedy and endless desire to "dance" (in the whirling dervish sense of the word).

If Saturn is (as I see it) the energy we need to work with that will help us wait, then I wasn't working with Saturn in my chart at all. My children's father came in as Saturn to check my Mars (I can't be sure, at this point, if he worked with Neptune). Before I began focusing on my code, science, or discipline, he gave me a discipline which focused on pulling back my Mars energy, that was jumping into everything.

We had a car, but in that little college town we walked everywhere. When he worked I had a lot of time to myself to run errands, or just do what I wanted. But he set me to a task while I was out. When I walked the streets, I was to pay attention to the cracks in the sidewalk, and I was never to step on them. Further, I was to cross at crosswalks only, and never before. This really sounds weird, right? But think about it. My attention and focus was all over the place- into everything. What this practice did was focus my energy on something while I was moving around and active. It reeled my energy in, when I was so used to extending it whenever I got around the public. For the first few months I had to look down, and I couldn't pay attention to the people. This discipline took holding back my energy out of my hands. This was so helpful, because I just wasn't ready to do it on my own. I started to appreciate my own space. After a while I could finally avoid cracks while looking up. The new trick was to perform my daily tasks with fluidity (smiling and saying hello to passers-by), while still focusing my energy on not stepping on cracks.

I am serious when I tell you that people could feel and were attracted to my focused energy. Even though what was going on in the back of my mind was don't step on the cracks or you'll break your mother's back, they felt it and were drawn in by the energy alone. What this very basic discipline did for me was calm me and hold me back from jumping into everything (projecting..I guess), until I understood the value and power in holding back, and had the will to do it myself.

Once I was invited, I let go of my focus (on how to navigate traffic), and would focus on whatever I was being invited to focus on. I had not begun to consider invitations (accept? decline?), but it wasn't a problem. I was sheltered at that time by my children's father who did not allow me to take every invitation. Obviously, him acting as my Saturn and me not working with Saturn on my own, could not last forever, and is probably another huge reason we split.

I'm going to stop here for now.

Thanks, if it's not that long - it'll give me a reference for my own understanding.

Also, could you share what book you're getting that information from?

Hi SDragon,

This is the book, it's co-written by the founder of Human Design.

Human Design: The Definitive Book of Human Design, The Science of Differentiation

Here's the description of the Gates, with the 6 line explanation.

quote:

Gate 1: The Creative - The Gate of Self-Expression
- Creation as primal force. The energy potential to manifest inspiration without limitation -
Center: G (Identity) Quarter: Mutation Theme: Purpose fulfilled through Transformation

Gate 1 is the drive, and deep need, to focus on expressing oneself in unique and creative ways. You are not concerned with being the best, which is a comparative trait of the Collective. You simply want to live out your true creative nature, your authentic individuality. When happily absorbed in doing "your own thing", you are not aware that you are attracting the attention of others. It is while you are being true to your creative process that what you are doing, and how you are doing it, has its greatest impact. As you exemplify new ways of expressing your authentic self, you empower others to consider new perspectives or new ways of being in the world. You may even change their creative direction. Your creativity inspired others by example, and for your impact to be properly felt and appreciated, it must be seen or heard. This requires interaction with the world, and waiting for an invitation. Without Gate 8, what you probably find least attractive is marketing your own work. You will often find yourself drawn to people with Gate 8 because they are better equipped, or in a better position, to promote your work for you.

Line 6 - Objectivity
Positive manifestation: Clear assessment of creative value. Clarity in creative expression.
Negative manifestation: The risk that subjective appraisal will result in disappointment and creative frustration. Subjectivity in self-expression that may lead to creative frustration.

quote:

Gate 2: The Receptive - The Gate of the Direction of the Self
-Receptivity as the primal base through which any response is determined, the root of action-
Center: G Quarter: Civilisation Theme: Purpose fulfilled through Form

The 'higher' knowing of Gate 2 is rooted in the direction of the self toward love and beauty via the Magnetic Monopole, the Driver. The Driver is focused on our movement in time through space, and built into your design is an innate sense of inner direction which is not based simply on geographic location. You cannot change this direction through your mind or your will, and if others are not going in your direction, you may come to a parting of ways. Gate 2 is likened to the key of the vehicle; it starts the engine for the Driver. The motor and the fuel to keep moving in your direction come from the Sacral Centre through Gate 14. You may even find yourself directing other people toward the resources they need to support their creative endeavours, or discover that by simply aligning to your own direction you automatically empower or confirm in others their own sense of direction. You are a visionary providing the plan or overview for a new way forward, but you are not here to do the work or make it happen. You look to Gate 14 for allies, for the power and resources to bring your vision to fruition.

Line 6 - Fixation
Positive manifestation: Happens when Mercury is activating this gate. Mercury is exalted here so the manifestation is less negative, though the intellect becomes absorbed in constant rationalisation. Higher knowing that is narrow in its receptivity.
Negative manifestation: The need for security may distort awareness to its ultimate perversion, destructiveness. The Higher Self absorbed with the mundane and the need for security.

Do you find these accurate?

The line descriptions are brief and too simplistic for my liking, but at least the Gate descriptions are good.

This is something very important, which needs to be highlighted.

If a Projector is invited to a job which requires a pro-active approach, and as long as the Projector enters the agreement according to his/her authority and strategy, then this can be a brilliant experience.

We are non-ergetic beings (open Sacral Centre), but an invitation energises us, and gives us power to initiate within the area we have been invited to.
So a Sales job for example, though seemingly a rather 'aggressive' field, can be an extremely successful area for a Projector. Once invited, we have Manifestor energy.

WOW!!! This explains so much, Peony.

The first and most important thing, our synastry leaves NO open centres. If you apply your chart onto mine all centres will be coloured except for the Sacral Centre. However, your active Gate 15 connects to my active Gate 5 which also activates the Sacral Centre in our synastry.

This means that our otherwise open centres do not seek to be activated any longer, and the synastry we're forming can be described as self-sufficient.

This can play out in many ways in life. In our case it's a very inspirational and constructive communication (at least for me! ) which we haven't tired of even though we've been in touch on this forum for a few months now. I can talk to how it feels on my side, our interactions are a constant source of inspiration, introspection, finding out about new things in life (the "Descent" book for example!). New topics keep emerging, and emerging. Mind you, we're on separate continents and this connection is still powerful.

If we were to meet face to face and go out for coffee, we would not be able to stop talking for hours, most probably ending up having dinner late into the evening, until everything closes down for the day. If we are out with other people, we will struggle to focus on them, because we lock down each other's open centres for other incoming energy.

I know a married couple with this kind of synastry - since they met they have been so isolated, and even when they're out with other people they just keep talking to each other. This can be a very tricky configuration for romantic synastry, because it can turn even a very open and communicative person into a hermit. Also, if the relationship is toxic, both people would feel it's impossible to separate because of their energies so strongly intertwined.

I find it's great synastry for friendships however! We're a good example

Now, onto a few more specific things.

You see that I not only have an open Head and Throat centres, but I also have no defined Gates in them. This means that my Head and Throat centres cannot be activated through a channel, but only if the other person has these centres defined - as you do; or if they have a Gate in this centre reaching out to an active gate in a neighbouring centre (as is the case with your Sacral Centre having no active gates but being activated by my Gate 5).
This explains how your ideas, concepts and insights always land so powerfully with me. I'll give the "Descent" example again, though there are many others (as your very important insight into my Pluto placements, 12H Venus, your interpretation of my Saturn/Uranus, 11H stellium, you analysis of my generation etc.). Each single thing you've said has resulted in me taking it to heart and researching it in depth. What a great example of an open centre amplifying the energy of a defined centre!

Your Spleen Centre, while open, is very powerful because it has 3 defined Gates. In our synastry, your Spleen is being activated by 3 more Gates, leaving only 1 single open Gate. This explains our intuitive interactions.

Do you find any correlation between this and our astrological synastry?

Peony,

Now that I covered synastry, I'd like to point out a few things in your chart in particular.

Firstly, you have a defined Throat Centre, which is a true blessing, especially for a Projector. It might have given you confusion because it urges you to 'initiate' whereas as a Projector you should wait, but it's still a brilliant placement to have.
People with an open Throat Centre, need to be invited to talk (even if they are not Projectors). When they are in the presence of someone with a defined Throat Centre they feel their energy and feel pressured to talk. Usually people with defined Throat Centres are quiet, whereas the open Throat Centres do more talking. However, energetically, if an open Throat Centre talks without having been asked to, nothing of what they say really reaches the other person. I can attest to this, and it is a difficult thing to tackle.

Since you have a defined Throat Centre, you at least are given the power to influence people with what you say, even before they 'invite' you as a Projector. You can use this to initiate discussions, ask questions, encourage people to share their thoughts. If they are with open Throat Centres, this will feel incredibly empowering to them. Your defined Throat Centre is a real blessing. I'd recommend you research it so you can discover its powers - I'm happy to share the descriptions from my 2 books as well!

Also, your 4 defined Channels are very interesting.

Channel 39-55 and 43-23 are part of the Individual Circuit Group. This energy pushes to isolation, introspection. where the individual arrives at evolutionary discoveries by being left alone with themselves.

Channels 64-47 and 17-62 are part of the Collective Circuit Group, where changes to entire groups, societies, even humanity are made a reality. With 2 defined Channels in this Circuit, you have great power to influence people.

The even distribution between the 4 channels might mean that you have phases of introversion, when you allow for thoughts and feelings to crystallise, followed by periods of engaging with people, when you pass on the knowledge you have arrived at.

Applying this to your Projector type, I'd see it as the Individual Channels directing you to what you need to focus on while you 'wait' for an invitation. Then once you are invited into a situation, your Collective Channels have the power to really leave a mark.
This also plays nicely into the 5/1 profile. Our profile is all about inner work, preparation, until we're called by the collective.

There is a lot of harmony in the way your chart is configured!

I'd recommend looking into Channel 43-23, because it's red (Design not Personality, so it might be unconscious).

Venus, thank you so much for your input! You have such a natural grasp on this concept, and the examples you are giving are very helpful in illustrating how the Projector energy works. I hadn't watched this webinar,s o thank you for highlighting the key points.

This is brilliant. Our conditioning is "if you want to go from A to B, just take steps towards B" Whereas for Projectors, A is the perfect environment we need in order to pull inward and attract B to us. A is not something we should see as having to leave behind, it's actually what we need in order for B to manifest.

For example, when I decided I want to leave my job and change careers I started applying for jobs in my chosen area. This was typical "move from A to B" thinking. It was very unsuccessful, which is no surprise as I have no experience in the field - and this left me bitter about my current job, as it was something I was unable to escape.

However, my job has been gradually quieting down since I decided to leave it, month by month, requiring minimal effort. The perfect environment was created for me to do inner work (I have both the time and the space for it). So point A is exactly what I need right now. I have been doing volunteer work in the space I want to move into, I took a course and got a certificate in the area I had no experience in, so gradually I've been doing the work required for point B.

Thank you for sharing this, Venus - it had a very encouraging effect on me

Reflectors are an enigma. They are supposed to be elusive, because they reflect us back to us. In trying to understand them, we end up understanding ourselves, and then we're back to square one in trying to understand the Reflector.

All of the Human Design Coaches I've watched/read/listened to online were either Projectors or Generators.

I think the professional Human Design community needs a Reflector, in order for this type to be better understood.

So if you feel an overwhelming sense of hopelessness when interacting with someone, ideally you should register "this person is feeling hopeless in this particular way", instead of "oh, I'm feeling so hopeless myself".

It's a difficult thing to tackle. I'm still working on it - I know when the energy I feel is not mine, but I still struggle to not internalise.

I wonder if Peony and Venus have any insight to share on how they manage this particular challenge.

SaturnFan,

When you mentioned hopelessness yesterday, were you sensing it from my end or trying to say I am being hopeless? I'm curious because I posted another thread on here and mentioned 'Having a sense of hope' for the coming future... was wondering if you used that as an example?

I also unfortunately accepted other peoples' judgments of me. It took me a long time to develop my core, a lot of studying, a lot of working on myself, and receiving a lot of help from other people, to reach the stage where I am today where I am clear about where my aura ends and the other person's begins, in a manner of speaking.

The only time I've experienced a large auric field is with a co-worker. We were outside the building where we worked and she was about 25 feet away. I remember watching her walk away with her back to me. I remember having a fixed gaze on her and feeling this wave of compassion as I stood there. Suddenly, I felt my aura grow larger and larger until it reached her and enveloped her. Mind you, it wasn't my ego that did this. It came from something or somewhere deep inside.

Hey Peony,

Yeah, having a solid sense of Self does help us become grounded of knowing who we are. A strong foundation is very important so we do not become pulled in different directions when interacting with others. Hence why self work or working towards individuation is very important in my perspective.

hey bluestskies88,

No, not at all - I was trying to recall the last time I sensed someone's emotional wave when we were talking, and I remembered a conversation I had with someone last week, and used that as an example

I hadn't seen your other thread, but the vibe I'm getting from you here is very optimistic. I hope you are not feeling hopeless?

Oh, ok...

No, not feeling hopeless at all...more like seeking clarity for the future. I posted my transit chart on another forum here, and i was asking what's coming up next or what's going on at the present moment so I may look forward (yes, being optimistic) to the next stage ... Thank you for the clarification though

Hello 12muddy,

Yes, it's deff a fine line to tread when it comes to 'helping others' without losing our self as well. This was another question i was going to ask. Glad i stumbled upon this HD insight and the fact that Projectors have to 'Wait for an invitation' / and also to be recognized FIRST before crossing those waters towards another. Totally save us that energy and time, plus that peace of mind .. lol

Thanks for sharing!

in my perspective, this track reminds me of something a Projector would say, think and feel --

bluestskies88,

Lovely song! Both Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr are Projectors

About Carrey's chart,

Defined Sacral Centre always means 'Generator'.

hello and welcome, deptic

Interesting chart! Defined Head and Ajna centres mean you have great clarity of thought, can be very fixed in your thinking and ideas, and people need to be very convincing in order to influence your opinions.

The tricky part is that your mind will be prone to run the show and take over the decision-making process for you.

With a defined Sacral and Root centres, you should always respond based on your gut feeling. For each thing in life, from how you want your coffee to whether you should take on a job offer, it responds with either yes or no - and this is what you should trust over your mind (which might be prone to over-analysis).

With the rest of your Centres open, you receive a lot of energy from your environment. You'll be open to people's emotional states, sense of purpose and identity, intuition, and willpower. Through your open centres you can magnify this energy, but it is important that you do not identify with it.

Here's a description of your 2 defined channels - does it resonate?

Channel of Abstraction 64-47

Channel of Mutation 3-60

And your profile:

Profile 4/6 Opportunist/Role Model

Hi SaturnFan. I actually neglected to point out many of the important points of the video. I am going to listen again and and outline it.

I am kind of stuck on these two concepts- Projector and EA. Part of me feels like I need to move on gates and channels and the other stuff you guys are discussing, but I can't seem to... I'm kind of obsessed with my own thoughts. I'll put up my chart. If you have anything to say about it, I'll see if that makes me want to move on or continue digging in my little mine, here.
