Why have I just spent half an hour of my life discussing the word 'loser'?

Oh, I know, it's because I'm a lazy b!tch.

And because the alternatives are writing about palliative care or deceiphering 18th century legal cases.

Oh, oh, bluemoon. I'm reading an interesting book at the moment called "What Dying People Want" by Dr. David Kuhl.

The main point that jumped out for me was the emphasis on the term 'person with a terminal illness', not 'a dying person'.

That is one of the issues that comes up for people living with a terminal illness. That they are still living!!!

Thanks for your chat-come-rant-bluemoon-style!!! And your understanding of Virgo stelliums

I spoke to the Union, the Guidance Officer and a Doctor today - so my case is documented. The GO also told me everyone has been re-allocated caseloads. I'm happy with the one I've been given. It means less stress and a different physical location away from the bloke with target rings around certain parts (eh, spunky, DD and sunshine lion )

Interesting point about Capricorn - heading North with status, a high-flyer, in boots and all, no real genuine 'listening', but a frank professional nod, skin and teeth of excellent quality.

Also interestingly enough. I'm an ITSJ at work(Briggs & Meyer), and he is a ???P. Therefore, a J and a P together is a potentially volitile occupation mix. I really found his approach to be pre-emptive - attack before the game starts. Would a Capricorn do that?

I love this statement:

quote:
What would I do? Probably get aggressive and confrontational. It tends to be what happens when someone challenges me with unfair criticism in a way I don't like.

This guy sounds like he has come in waving his big d!ck about. The subtlelty and tact of a sloppy fart. Making it all about who knows what when it should be about the kids.

There goes that same theme surfacing again - "unfairness". The Union spokesperson picked up on that, too.

Okay, I feel a need to look for passages with the word 'Loser' in it

Hey AG - I'm glad you're feeling positive!! Is there anything in particular that is making you happy? Or any pearls of wisdom to share in this venerable state?

No, unfortunately nothing major to make me happy other than being amused that Jwhop got the 69th post of the aphrodisiac thread.

Why do you think he's a Perceiving in Myers-Briggs? I didn't know that those qualities were in opposition.

Would a Capricorn act pre-emptively in a new work situation? Maybe a high strung one would, but it doesn't sound typical for Capricorn. I've cycled through a lot of possibilities, but it's sort of up in the air.

I thought Capricorn, because I still don't know what happened. If I'm left to my imagination I can dream up scenarios that might seem offensive to you, but where the other person didn't necessarily know they were being offensive. It sounded like your Leo pride was hurt, which is something that might happen in a Capricorn-Leo interaction. You said that you are always right, which is a sentiment common in Capricorns as well.

Yes - two rights make two rights, I guess!!! We work in an extremely complex unit - dealing with people from all walks of life - dealing with their grief over their child with congenital disabilities (parents seem to mourn for a long time).

He's a high flyer, 7 weeks on the job and told me what to do. Me! One of the most experienced on the job! That's the short side of the story. We are having a 'bridge building' meeting when I go back to work! He jumped in too fast, shooting his mouth off without asking the questions first.

It was critism followed by a lecture, without having the full facts - an icky, icky way to talk to a colleague.

Yes amazingly so about Briggs & Meyers. I only found this out at a professional development workshop the whole staff went on! It blew me away to learn that the major conflicts in the work place are between P's and J's.

J's are structured people, who like lists and routines. P's like flexibility, leaving things to the last minute, and other characteristics which I can't think of just now.

J's tend to evaluate with facts. P's tend to evaluate with observing.

In my records on myself, I find that I'm an INFJ. Counselor Idealist is one of the titles of my group.

Hello AG & KOI

Glad to see that you are feeling better....No one can steal a Leo's sunshine can they Koi?

Sounds to me like the guy didn't do his research on the people he would be working with which to me indicates disrespect.

Hopefully this issue will be resolved soon so that you all can get on with the important work that you do.

I had a great day at work & at patchwork class yesterday....I am making a craft bag koi. I'm concentrating on pinks & greens for my first work (they are my favourite colours) & at some point I would like to incorporate some decorative gold stitching. I am feeling good now that my creativity has an outlet.

HAPPY, HAPPY, JOY, JOY!!!!!!

Wow!!! Cool - doing the craft thing!! Picking and choosing colours that make our eyes smile and hearts glow is positively fun!!!!

Go for gold, girl...!!! Very nice in stitching

True! Lack of research, lack of respect - you hit the nail on the head!!

True! You can't steal a Leo's sunshine!!!

True! Knowflakes are wonderful people.

True! I love the continual banter here. It's so fresh, lively, real, honest - always makes me smile.....or even laugh!!!!!

AG - INFJ!! How amazing, I was an INFJ in a test I did about 15 years ago!! It's realistic to think we can change. We can also be a J at work and a P at home (or vice versa). I think my ISTJ has developed over the last few years with working in such a complex environment and needing structures in order to survive issues that conitually arise. I always feel like I'm problem-solving. No wonder, we have all those holidays - lol..!!!

Some people think Briggs and Meyers is a load of ******. But I think it has it's place. Very much like Astrology, it's a great starting point in thinking about people and their relationships with others and the world in general.

I think we'd work pretty well together, AG. Do you have Virgo anywhere? Then the deal would surely be sealed...!!!

Just remembered your question. We all had the Personality Test done at a professional development workshop - the whole staff together. We had to break into groups and work out problems etc, to get the feel of different approaches. He was in the P group. It was a small group, and had the people in it that most of us think muck around at work!

But, I may edit this post so as not to offend P people

I have a Virgo Moon. I'm Gemini Rising, too, so I have a Mercury chart ruler.

I'm quite certain your Myers-Briggs results could change over time like you say.

I also agree with you that it's a helpful tool for assessing a personality. I love stuff like that. I've got the results of lots of such tests saved.

I like the Myers-Briggs interpretations. I think they're more stable than astrology. I find them more insightful. Only because with astrology people can twist and turn things, whereas Myers-Briggs is pretty black and white. And so so so spot on. I think they give the types of interpretations that I want from astrology.

That's true. With astrology you become a junkie needing ever more information on anything and everything, and while you may have had your chart interpretted a dozen different ways, you're always up for one more.

Hey koi & AG

I'm really over the basic interpretations of astrology like you are selfish and this or that because you are an Aries. I want more than that. Jan Spiller's astrology is great that way. With some astrology I go through it and say yeah, I'm like that or can be or have been but outgrown it, but with Myers-Briggs it's what makes you tick.

Hello PA

I agree with you re astrology & it's limitations...IMO it doesn't allow for information regarding soul growth through trials in life, so it's a bit rigid there.

It's been a really full week and it's only Wednesday. I'm finished tech for the week - but I'm feeling really tired. We've done a lot in the last two weeks. But also lots of homework to do.

Hey spunky

Yeah, that's what I'm looking for in astrology too. If you haven't taken a look at her work - check out Jan Spiller's books, "Spiritual Astrology" and "Astrology For The Soul". Brilliant.

AG - what happens if a player misses the net? Do they say "Puck!"?

Oh my gosh, that was a lame Sag Moon attempt at a joke. My apologies!!!

Will have to check out Spiller. I have come across her name before. Mature, holistic astrology is the way to go, rather than sifting through a number of snippets.

LOL jwhop got the 69 position. Which means I got the coveted 68. Unless of course you don't know the old joke, then you won't get it. Which hopefully you do because I don't know how to clean it up enough to post it here.
