Jupiter can stay in my 1H if he pleases, but he needs to step away from 14 degrees already!

I don't recall how many times he's gone back and forth over my Asc, but I've gained more weight this time quitting smoking than I did the last time.
I needed to gain weight, but really...

That might be because I don't trust my knowledge enough to really bother anyone about it, but my mother in-law likes it.

My husband will sometimes listen to me...I think he understands that there's plenty of validity to it, but he basically just chooses to not concern himself with it.

My experience has been that most people are open to it and willing to listen (surprisingly)but very few will take the initiative to study it on their own. What usually happens is they will occasionally ask me a question about it and that's pretty much the extent of it. I really think that being able to understand astrology is a gift that very few people have.

^ Yeah, that's my experience as well. Like they're somewhat curious, mildly interested, and enjoy hearing about it a little bit, but they never really get into it themselves...which is fine, I guess. But it's nice to be able to talk to people about it and not get the blank look.

Not that I understand it so extensively, but more than most people I know in real life.

To be fair... I don't think most people have the ability to really understand it. It's like you can read them descriptions of their sun, moon, ascendant, venus etc. and they'll be like "oh well that fits but this doesn't". It's like they don't have the ability to see how it all fits together to form their complex personalities. I didn't really have that problem..... I have always thought of the chart as a smoothie of sorts.. All the signs, house placements and aspects are the fruit and you put them in a blender and mix them all together. When you make a smoothie with a bunch of different kinds of fruits you may not be able to taste all of them but they are still there. It's like that with your chart too.. You may not be able to really see a certain aspect/placement in yourself but it's there! It's just being overpowered by the other fruit... Err I mean placements if that makes sense.

Yeah, that makes complete sense. And that's a great analogy.
I also see it that way, or can at least understand that we're all reasonably complex people with more than one quality to our personalities. I suppose most people who study astrology are that way.

Belated fireworks for getting to 1,000

I'm so miserable about my friend and her man...she is banking on marrying him and their charts are so frickin MEANINGFUL but I cannot say, "Oh, sure, you'll get married" or give any assurance whatsoever. I would like to say that I can't help, and drop it, but the numbers are all so precise, I'm entangled in the riddles.

I remember reading about a chess grandmaster who, around age four, was found awake in the bathroom in the middle of the night with the chessboard on her lap. One of her parents found her there and asked what she was doing. "The pieces won't leave me alone!" she cried.

That's me and astrology. Especially with my friends and their boyfriends.

I've had the same experience you folks have had, where people will ask me about stuff and not bother learning anything on their own. And I tried understanding charts several times through my teenage years and early 20's and never could hit that breakover point where it clicked and mattered to me.

I even remember picking up a book that had an emphemeris in the back, and I sat in the bookstore learning my placements, and I laughed because I have so many planets in so many signs, I was thinking, "How does anyone put stock in all this? If we all have planets in each sign, anything can be attributed to that sign!" I had no idea about generational planets (LOL) and didn't even know that my chart was sort of unique in its splash chart formation.

But I had a bit of an "aha!" moment about the Pisces moon. Like..."Oh that would explain a lot." Because I knew the sun signs like the back of my hand.

I should check the transits for when I signed up here...that was after I first started learning (and I lurked from the beginning and didn't start posting in earnest for a few months after I registered.)

When they first got together she had inherited some money which he spent most of and she was hanging on for years for payback. When she realized it was never going to happen she was free but because he was failing she let him stay and started getting on with her own life. Cleaning up his stuff she found a shoe with several thousand dollars stuffed in it! Enough to set up her own business and find a better place to live, tho nowhere near what he had glommed off her it was a great windfall!

WOW...that's an amazing story. Would love to see the charts on that, astro addict that I am. But I wouldn't trouble you.

Have you all met Cata before? She is a Pisces moon like some of us. Actually her moon is conjunct Bella's. And Elvis's.

I forgive Randall for not supplying an Elvis emoticon even though I can't say I comprehend his reasoning whatsoever.

Hi, Catalina! I'm glad to hear that your solar return chart bodes well! Just keep that guy off my Asc.

Where is Bella's Moon, anyway? Any of you have your Pisces stuff conjunct my Sun?

Faith, your Moon seems to be sort of in between my Sun and my Jupiter.

I didn't know Elvis had a Pisces Moon! Niiiifffftty!

Also, I fully agree that there should be an Elvis emoticon.

Thank you ~ thank you very much.

We should have en Elvis emoticon. After all we have.:

Elvis is missing from LL's Mount Olympus, so to speak.

Bella's moon is at 4 Pisces, I think? Elvis @ 2...I forget Cata's. But they are all conjunct your sun if you allow 8 orb for luminaries as I do.

Where is your Jupiter, Violets?

My Jupiter is at 25 Pisces.
My Sun is at 6, so yep. Yay, Sun/Moon conjunction!

I allow an 8 degree orb for all conjunctions, and also squares.

What orbs do you use for everything, Faith?
I'm especially curious about the axis stuff, like NN/SN, MC/IC, AC/DC, and points like the Vertex.

Tell us your secrets!

Your Jupiter is conjunct my Pallas, my father's Jupiter-Uranus, and my son's Jupiter-Uranus-ASC. Aw!

My orbs are kinda arbitrary. They are what I want them to be, sometimes. I mean, if I feel something that is technically "out of orb" then viola, it's back in orb again!

So if I want to say that my Eros is trine my ex's Psyche, even though there is a 3 degree orb and I really only allow 2 degrees...well....I just cheat. Problem solved.

But for the most part:
8 orb for luminaries
6 orb for other planets including Ceres and Eris, with major aspects
4 orb for sextiles, though
2 orb for asteroids

I like the even numbers.

My Venus is at 6 Sag <---- notice, even number.

Is that conjunct your NN?

Yes, your Venus IS conjunct my NN!

That occurred to me the other day, and I was going to mention it but forgot.

Well, no wonder then.

That's cool that my Jupiter is in tune with your family. It feels cozy.

And I know what you mean about changing orbs if you feel something. That's why, in spite of the fact that my True BML is about 2 degrees from my Sun, I still count it. I feel it (although my Sun is my ruling planet and all).

I also count my husband's Vertex as conjunct his Venus and Sun (his Venus is at 4 Leo, Vertex at 5, and Sun at 10). Because his Vertex is right there in the middle, I consider it conjunct his Sun as well.

I wonder if my Moon (5 Virgo) and Vertex (4 Capricorn) would be considered trine my MC at 0 Taurus?

Ps
Uhm...where is your Mars, Faith?

Yes, you fit with "my people"!

It is funny how families all seem to have repetitive themes and their own highlighted areas of the zodiac.

K, so your NN conjunct my Venus, and your SN is conjunct my Gemini Ceres and Psyche. I am hugging your destiny both ways.

Oh and my husband's Mercury and Venus are conjunct your moon, so he sends his kindest regards (without knowing it )

Oops, took me a while to get that post finished, so I missed your last one.

I don't know much about the Vertex. But I would count the trine from the moon, definitely.

My MC is around 0 Taurus (but I need an official birthtime, as opposed to word-of-mouth.)

Mars @ 16 Gemini.

ETA:

Yes, I would count the sun-Vertex conjunction if I felt it.

Actually my composite sun with a friend of mine is right on my unofficial Vertex, which "rectifies" my chart a bit, since the relationship feels so Vertex-y.

Dude. Your Mars is conjunct my Karma asteroid EXACT.
I had a hunch, but it just occurred to me when we were talking about my NN.

That might explain some things, eh?
Not in a bad way, I'm guessing.

Mars-Karma what is that all about? I hope it doesn't grate on you. I feel like my Mars annoys so many people I like (Pisces, Sag, Virgo) EXCEPT those people who have key Gemini aspects (sun, moon, Mars, node, ASC.) ETA: Though I could certainly annoy them, too, I suppose.

Good thing you have Gem SN and Karma and get my Mars, a bit.

Violets, that is a very unusual configuration you've got then: sun-moon in a grand cross with your nodal axis, all pretty tight?

My daughter has something similar, her nodes are the inverse of yours, with sun-Mercury near the early Sag SN and moon on the Gemini NN.

ETA: Similar just because I don't often see the sun and moon both aspecting the nodes that directly.

Yeah, my Sun is at 6.45 Pisces
Moon at 5.46 Virgo
Nodes at 5.26 Sag/Gem
Neptune at 11.43 Sag

My Nodes are about 3 degrees from my house cusps. NN barely in 4H, SN barely in 10H, Neptune in 5H.

It sounds really hard.

When I've had transiting nodal "issues"...those were some of my worst times.

My daughter has had depression and phobias...she is lighthearted and goofy (very Aries ASC) but when she in a funk...with an 8H Scorpio sun no less...it's really awful. I'll delete that later.

I have had enough "phases" of bad transits to know that when the energy sucks there isn't much you can do to rise above it, unless you are some kind of yogi master (?) which I am not.

How do you cope? I'm glad you stopped smoking (congratulations!) and I do the same thing with music, baths, essential oils ...do you meditate?

Well, another *hug* for you.
