This is what I'm most familiar with. I'm trying to find a really good research paper that I once read, that gave empirical evidence that Pholus functions this way...no luck yet. I've had some dramatic changes in my life when the sun was transiting my Pholus, and tr Pholus has set off all kinds of stuff in the charts I look at. quote: PHOLUS WAS the second Centaur discovered. It was due to this discovery that the planetary class was defined (Chiron, the first, and Pholus, the second, were then grouped into the new class). The properties of that class included the objects being relatively small bodies which crossed the orbits of major planets and which were not in any previously known orbit. Physically, Chiron and Pholus are distinctly different, with Chiron being a very large comet and Pholus resembling a rocky asteroid with a reddish hue [source is RVH; cite needed].Centaur discoveries proceeded very rapidly from here -- consistent with the archetypal nature of Pholus, which can connote seemingly instant transformation of whatever it touches, often driven by curiosity. Of course, the process may have been underway covertly for many years, and Pholus shows up as, or concurrently with, a catalyst of some kind that precipitates the process. As such, it is wise to look to the past for influences on the seemingly instantaneous changes of the present, including influences that reach to the grandparents and great grandparents. The designation and rapid progress of the Centaur class is the perfect metaphor for Pholus. Chiron, by contrast, was first seen in 1895 and not discovered until 1977. Fifteen years later, Pholus was discovered and within a relatively short time, there were dozens of new Centaurs. Chiron is associated with long delays followed by rapid changes; Pholus is about rapid changes prompted by something as seemingly insignificant as idle curiosity.

I'm less familiar with this aspect of it. However one friend's Pholus is conjunct my moon, and there's something weird going on. quote: Originally posted by Violets: My mom's Pholus is conjunct my Mars. I feel uncharacteristically angry whenever I'm around her for more than 20 minutes.
Hahah I feel that way about my sister. I should check where her Pholus is. You say you have sun-Pholus-BML? *feels reverence and fear* IP: Logged |

My sister's Pholus is at 24 Aqua...doesn't hit anything in my chart. But I just realized my moon turns her overlapping minor triangles in Cancer-Virgo-Scorpio into a kite. She has six planets in that formation, all directed at my moon. :/ I pretty much don't enjoy too much energy getting fired at my moon at once.

Hehehehe. Yes, I do. They're all sort of clustered in there in my 8H. True BML, Sun, and then Pholus. Not all at the same degree, but close enough for me to feel it, alright. IP: Logged |

Hey that's nice. The plot reminds me of Kentucky Rain. I guess...women escape into the rain and go MIA in all the states.

@AG LOL I wonder how that would feel? Venus-Pholus, hmm. @Violets You were born the same day and year as a famous person (not to out you, but you know who I mean?) I think I can see that sun-Pholus-BML in her. If I lived in rainy weather my 4 year-old would be ecstatic. IP: Logged |

Nah, no ego in that area. I consider myself to have very average looks. In my area (military base), girls are only attracted to the clean-cut look, so my long hair is a big turn-off. But I have to be careful to break things off quick if I am dating someone and not super interested, because by the 3rd date, they tend to fall for me. Not sure why that is. Maybe it's my personality and/or how I make people laugh. But after date number three, they would then rate me as highly attractive. It's sort of like George Costanza. Bella could probably tell you more about that Seinfeld episode. George always has a tough time getting a second date, so he would leave something behind that he would have to go pick up. By date three, they would be hooked. He said by date three, his name would be in their heads like the cologne jingle: By Men-nen. Co-stan-za. It's not my Virgo ASC, but instead it's Pluto in the 1st that gives me my attraction. I'm careful not to look into a woman's eyes for long, because then they tend to fall for me. It's a real curse. It has caused me much grief. So, I've learned to avert my gaze. quote: Originally posted by Faith: Shh you'll give Randall a big ego.

And another ex broke up with me out of nowhere when tr sun was on my Pholus. It's the only time that's ever happened to me. All my other exes were nice. IP: Logged |

Randall, That must be nice because my experience has been that women won't even give a guy a chance to project his personality unless they find him physically attractive from the get-go. I'm not doubting what you are saying, i'm just saying it hasn't been the same for me. Heck, maybe the girls in my area are just more shallow than the norm. For what it's worth Padre supposedly lived in my town for awhile and said he thought the women here were shallow. That's why i've been working out more and killing myself in the gym. I figure it's the only thing within my control that I can change to give myself a better shot in this brutal dating game.IP: Logged |

Haha, was that too much? It was just too easy to make that funny when my venus is at 24 degrees aqua.

I didn't know Randall had a Virgo Asc (I think someone told me, but I had forgotten).Randall never lets any of us see a close enough picture of him to say yay or nay on that one! Anyway, my progressed Asc is Virgo, hahaha. But I did date a Taurus with Virgo Asc for 10 years, and the ladies were always eyeing him. IP: Logged |

Randall, That's what is odd about my situation. I've never had real female friends that I hang out with on a regular basis. My experience has been that women are sexually/romantically into me from the beginning and things move quickly or they want nothing to do with me and never will. That's the way it has always been for me. Ideally I'd like things to start as friendship and progress to a relationship over time but it just never happens that way. My good leo friend has tons of female friends and I try to build rhapport and befriend some of them when I hang out with him and it's the same thing, they ignore me and act as if I don't exist. I will never forget a conversation (if you want to call it that) I had with one of those girls. We were all hanging out and she mentioned that she worked in the mens fragrance department at a department store and that she really liked it. So I chimed in and said I had a large collection of colognes (because I do). I started naming off colognes I liked and she said she hated all the ones I named off. It was clear from her responses and the way she was acting that she didn't want to have any common ground with me. That's been my experience with women/girls my whole life.IP: Logged |

Hahahaha. Found her. I only know about the one main thing she did recently, but that's pretty funny, given the placements. I'll have to read up on her more, though. She seems kind of obnoxious in a way that I'm generally not (to my knowledge), but now I have to investigate. IP: Logged |

I don't want to derail Bella's thread any more than we already have, so I'll simply say that some will be attracted to you and some won't. You can improve your odds by working on some things. You said you're working out. I think working on other things women find to be more attractive would be a better use of time--things like humor, confidence (without being conceited), and gently leading. But ultimately, some people are just not attracted to other people in that way, and that's okay. Accept it, and don't let it get you down. Don't try too hard. Act like you don't care, and guess what? You won't. If someone is attracted to you, she will let you know. We can bring this to Sweat Peas if you want to continue. Sorry, Bella! IP: Logged |

Yep! I've always been myself. No games, no strategy, no "dating rules". That just shows that you know how to pretend, or whatever. I've always been me. If I wanted to call, I called. If I wanted to flirt, I flirted. Show interest and it doesn't have to be anything in particular. Just be interested. Notice things. Observe them, compliment them but it doesn't have to be often at all. They'll remember it! If they even feel a SMALL attraction to you, they'll never forget that compliment. Things like that. ANYWAY.... LOL I'm just further moving this off course. IP: Logged |

Right, she is much more obnoxious but funny as HELL. And very, very quick on the uptake....I've noticed a lot of people in her line of work have Aqua placements. They are really good at handling whatever gets thrown at them. Maybe she has her ASC on that sun-Pholus-BML? Or maybe Cap rising conjunct Mars...I dunno. IP: Logged |
