i'll attempt to be more stringent and literal next time.

in conversations i've had, someone saying to me...'i bet you you won't try such and such'.....seems, in context, like a dare to make the said attempt.

once a famous person entered a restaurant where i was dining. my dining companion 'bet' that i wouldn't speak to the famous person. and i wouldn't have, except that it was like a 'dare' to do so....so i did; i invited said personality to the symphony...who accepted, but couldn't attend due to a sold-out concert date at the time.

by re-posting and repeating your 'bet' you did contribute to the life of this thread.

it seemed that you posted that because Lotus bumped the thread. why not just let her comment stand?

if you really wish the thread to end, i would suggest not posting here. if it disturbs you so much to read here, i would suggest not doing so.
