I feel that sometimes I give too much information. It's strange because I feel that I'm a private person, but I don't have any issue talking about stuff (personal stuff included) which are usually kept private.

There is a need to let it out. The moon is indeed happy in its "happy" 3rd house. I rant to myself, to my s.o, friends, strangers...etc... I'm a hair away from using this venting thread as an online diary.

Uni application is giving me headache and heartache. I have things I need to sort out before I apply. I flitted around doing a lot of different things. There were times when I applied, got offers, enrolled, then withdrew - heh life and other plans got in the way. I never gave it any thought, true to my I-do-what-I-like nature. But now I have something that I want to reach. Something that is so important to me, hell so far in my short life there has only been a few times when I truly felt the desire and the need burning a hole in my chest. I'm feeling it now and it's terrifying and so compelling. It aches just to think about it.

A weird thought has been growing like toxic mold in my head. What if they looked at my various withdrawals and decided that I'm a flake and wouldn't send me an offer?

People around me are like "This is not you, you don't freak out" (teh fcuk???), "No it'll be fine", "Well there are always other ways", and "Freaking out doesn't help, que sera sera baby" - this one is courtesy of my s.o.

Damn him and his que sera sera pretty backside.

Woo. Rant over. He's right.

Que sera sera.

So. I've had these 4 raccoons trying to get after my 23 chickens for a few months. My chickens are not near my house but in the countryside at my mom's. For about a month my mother spent her nights sitting in a lawn chair in the dark with a flashlight and water bottles (water bottles- her weapons of choice, she throws at the raccoon). I finally decided to set some traps with the help of my friend.

As a wanna-be farmer I am doing my best to adopt a very matter of fact attitude about life and death and the hard choices we sometimes need to make. I plan to raise my chickens (and other animals) for eggs and meat, slaughtering them myself. If something's after my animals I have to be ready and willing to get rid of it, and sometimes that means I might have to kill something I don't plan to eat. I have no problem hunting, but killing over territory is a little harder...I convinced myself to do it...

I set the traps with the help of my friend. And sure enough within a week we got us a coon. The trap went off sometime in the night so by the time we got to the trap in the morning the raccoon had settled down and looked like he was actually playing (leg all snapped up in the trap and all). he kind of looked cute. I brought up the possibility of keeping him and making him a pet. Idea was quickly "shot" down. Sooo... He was my problem. I was going to kill him.

...and, oh, what a bloody scene it turned out to be...

So I thought that in general me and hunters were on the same page. You hunt. You trap. You kill. Oh, aand the killing doesn't go on and on. I've seen animals slaughtered several times, but I guess not all killing is as clean as I thought. If you bring a .22 to a coon fight you might have to shoot it 4 times before it stops looking at you bloody in the face. I didn't actually get all 4 shots off. I took one shot. Got Him In The Head, and when he coughed and looked up at me, I started freaking out Terrible.
