I wasn't too happy with my roommate's 4:30 alarm this morning...especially since she didn't get out of bed until AT LEAST an hour after that. You really don't need to hit snooze for over an hour in the morning. It's just unnecessary. And for me, it took away from my sleep time.(I should perhaps say that her room is across the hall from mine, but her alarm is REALLY loud [not offensive really, just loud] and we have hard wood floors.) I hit the snooze for an hour myself sometimes But it's obnoxious to have a loud alarm if you have a roommate, and their room is right next to yours! Tell her to turn it down ....what the hell, you pay rent there too!!

If it were me, I would re-set her alarm for 3am while she's asleep, turn it up to 11 and put it right next to her ear.Should you happen to get caught in the process, while the simple explanation that you were trying to bed her may do you some favours. Or not. COMMUNITY SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: Another useful post proudly brought to you by PA Incorporated.

This morning she asked if I heard it. I said, "Yes.""It's down as low as it will go," she tells me. "I think it's that it took you so long to turn it off," I replied. Seriously. It was quiet enough. It probably wouldn't have woken me if it was attended to quickly, but it wasn't. I'm in a better mood today regardless, so at least that's good. Happy Hump Day everyone! IP: Logged |

Damn it! I just lost my post. I got a screen that implied that I didn't have a connection. I hit back, and my message was gone. I was saying... At least it's cool that my roommate is a Libra. In Chinese astrology, she's a Rabbit, which is Pisces-like, so she typically asks me if she senses something is wrong in my world. I told her about the alarm, and this morning it was quieter. Maybe tonight we'll have another conversation about alarm clock theory, and I'll suggest that she'd find it easier to turn off faster if she slept enough before it went off (meaning: set it to go off when you're actually willing to get up to turn it off). Libras are generally willing to consider another side. IP: Logged |

Unmoved, I googled it for you... It is a pizza place.... Leo is the father of the owner? Here's information on the donair:"We produce a food by the name of ‘Donair.’ We currently offer 20lb and 30lb ‘cones’ of spiced, ground beef that’s cooked on a vertical rotisserie. It’s served on a pita, normally with onions, tomatoes, and sweet sauce. The meat can also be used to make ‘Donair Pizzas’ ‘Donair Subs’ and many other tasty treats. It’s very similar to the Turkish ‘Doner Kebab’, the Greek ‘Gyro’, and the Lebanese ‘Shawarma.’" AG, sorry about taking up space on your thread... Oh, can I ask you a question? You seem pretty knowledgeable about Chinese astrology... What can you tell me about a wood rat... because my friend's grandmum, who's Chinese, said "Oh. You're a wood rat? Hmmm.." Is that a good thing? Thanks! IP: Logged |

It's no problem ABC. I don't know all there is to know about Chinese astrology, but I'm a Rat, too. You and I should get along (and this after I said you should give up on that way older guy). In Chinese astrology you're supposed to be the most compatible with people of your own sign or signs four years apart from yours. As Rats, we're supposed to get along best with monkeys and dragons. Being a Rat is a very good thing in Chinese astrology. Look it up sometime.IP: Logged |

The Bad News: She wasn't up (as far as I can tell) until it was about time for her to be leaving. UPDATE: She didn't get up until 7:00, which is half an hour after I left. I emailed her feeling kind of guilty like I might have caused her to miss her alarm (which maybe I did). I just asked her what happened. She wrote back a very p!ssed off email about how I should have woken her. I wrote her back telling her the ways in which I did attempt to wake her (because I did know that she'd prefer to be woken if it's suspected that she's going to work). I thought my last measure had worked.
I called her cell phone, and I could hear it going off in her room. I didn't let it go to voicemail, but I did let it ring I would say probably five times. Anyway, I had thought that that worked, but it was time for me to leave then, so I left. So after she got that email telling her of the ways I tried to wake her she was a bit nicer. She said I should go in her room and shake her or squirt her with a water bottle or something if necessary. IP: Logged |

Whoa! Why are you responsible for making sure your roomate wakes up on time for work? She's a big girl isn't she??? Geez, I don't even do that for my family, they know what time they have to be up and if their not, it's on them with a detention or whatever if they're late. I don't know why that makes me mad. I mean your probably fine with it, but it just seems like taking advantage to me.IP: Logged |
