Fill your boots - 10 Nov 1973, 12.40am, near Liverpool, UK.There's lots about it that I still don't get. It's a work in progress for me.

I realized something this afternoon. Sometimes honest encouragement can seem like judgment. One person saying, "You should do this," can sound like, "I don't trust that you'll come to this decision on your own." If the receiver does hear it that way, it puts both parties in jeopardy of being misunderstood.IP: Logged |

Totally agree with your last post, AG. Happens to me and my old man all the time. I have to stop feeling like everything people say to me when it comes to me taking care of my daughter is a critique, obviously I am insecure with it and projecting. Had many an argument over it to date. Learning to chill out about it though. IP: Logged |

Oh yes, it's the approach!!My MIL, an Aqua/Leo always says, "You NEED to do xyz!" Immediately I go into defense mode, whewww, man, the horse half starts bucking, and I'm thinking, "I don't NEED to do anything I don't want to do, grrr, grumble, blah." Yet, if my Aries friend says, "Hey! Have you ever tried doing xyz this way?" I'm like, "OH, cool, noooo, I love you!!" Just how people come across I think. The Goo Goo Dolls and Sheryl Crowe are coming to the venue right down the street from me this summer, pretty stoked about that. I think it's going to be a GREAT summer!! What did I miss, can you recap, or do I have to scroll back?? IP: Logged |

Yeah, actually it was Meta_4 from here encouraging me on stuff I'd essentially like to do. I was having difficulty discerning why her encouragement was annoying me, because I know she couldn't possibly be intending it that way that I was taking it. Who knew encouragement had such a nasty yang side to it? And I don't think people often consider the judgment that comes as the subtext of the encouragement.______________________ I would recap, Gyps, but I already forgot some bits. I commented on an astrological report I bought. Wheels came by to discuss Venus conjunct Neptune for a second. I made progress on my songwriting for my deal with Eskimono.

I see! I knew about your report, just hadn't read through it. Did you like it? Was it expensive? I haven't had an in-depth one in about 15 years, so I have no idea if they are worth the money. Do you think there is any info there that you couldn't of figured out for yourself? I've always wondered just HOW much is there. I know they say 30-40 pages...So, Eskimono is still off the chocolate for this song, huh? She must really like music!! xox. I missed you guys. IP: Logged |

How do you deal with a Pisces who can only seem to complain about something he seems to want to do? He was in my improv group. Then they formed a troupe, which I didn't make. This guy is good on his feet, but his humor mostly consists of trying to belittle people on stage. Anyway, he liked the idea of being in a performing troupe, but he ONLY wanted to perform, and never practice. I had to put him in his place this morning for something he wrote on my FB status. I really don't get how a person can have that level of criticism towards something he seems to want to love. Ugg..I didn't post the whole report. It is pretty long, but includes explanations that newbies would need in order to understand. It was $20. Yeah, essentially all of the information is stuff I could have figured out on my own, but if you're an astrological junkie you always enjoy new takes on the old subject of your chart. I knew this would have a few things that I don't typically see represented in a chart interp. That elevation of Neptune as my strongest planet was a big surprise, too. Never heard that before. Yeah, that guys kinda an a$$, eh? I don't get what he's saying, but you saying this here makes the story complete. He's just a brat, from my standpoint. Improv practice is soooo fun, too. How is it not fun to spend time thinking on your feet and coming up with zingers with a group you enjoy? And i think you're right, it helps you all stay sharp and get better at it. Makes the content of the improv (whenever you may do it in front of a crowd) more fluid. IP: Logged |

Ooops, I didn't know it was really an argument lol. I commented on it, thinking it was some kind of non-serious semantics argument. Sorry!IP: Logged |

Well, yeah...it seems like he wanted to make it a semantics argument after I laid that all out, but whether conscious or unconscious he was trying to make the point that improv is spontaneous, and you therefore don't "practice" it in his first line. That's what his comment said in literal terms (calling "improv practice" an oxymoron). I can't help but see the subtext since I know he left because he didn't want to practice. The troupe practices right after us, so I'd noticed that he was missing and I asked what the story was with his disappearance. This kind of sourness makes up a good portion of the communication I receive from him, and I was trying to get him to realize what he's doing so he can stop. I don't care if he has a problem with the troupe he left. He doesn't need to bring it up when I'm saying a simple little thing like I'm going to practice. To make matters worse I always feel like I have to be delicate when dealing with water Suns. IP: Logged |

Hmm, sounds like he's feeling left out. It may've been his decision to leave in the first place, but it also sounds like he's very frustrated as well. IP: Logged |

I suffer from the same water sun thing when my Saturn Cancer acts up. It's in the 3rd house and squares my Mercury, so I think I get all disapproving at times with the way people 'phrase' things because I'm trying to mask being offended and/or hurt.IP: Logged |

Yeah, I can see him being frustrated, too. I only wish he'd do something constructive about it. And I know he probably doesn't mean to be a total douche, but he has a knack for coming across that way. Some of the women in the troupe really didn't like him for his condescension on stage. They believed he was probably really like that with women. I don't know him well enough to know for certain.IP: Logged |

I read it, but I could tell by your tone that you were not amused...now I see the story.Hmmm.....water suns. My daughter takes everything people say very personally. She has Cancer rising so, that doesn't help. Then the Aries Moon kicks in and you wish you never said a word. But, I don't feel that I have to be delicate with water suns, I just say whats on my mind. Guess thats why Sag's have the rep for being insensitive. Honestly though, if (you) aren't intentionally trying to hurt someone's feelings, seems like walking on egg shells can never lead to genuine communication. And never having genuine communication leads to never having a genuine relationship. Just ABC stuff here, but, I suppose in the end, we just like who we like and that's about all there is to it. Yeah, Aries moon is way sensitive (I should know, having one). We're super touchy. Not in the way water people are. It's more the burden of having to change somehow to accommodate others, which can be highly annoying. Or being accused or whatever.IP: Logged |

That's very interesting MVM! I'm going to ask her if that is the way she feels! Having an Aries Asc isn't like that, or at least, not to me.My Sco/ex has a cappy bro with an Aries Moon. Whew, nobody, I mean, nobody gets along with him except me. They say I'm just blind, but I just see a person who seemingly is always picked on, and I'm all about the underdog....interesting!! He is Virgo rising as well. IP: Logged |
