My friend and new landlord invited me to an amusement park tomorrow. That's going to crimp moving time a bit, but I haven't been to an amusement park in years, so that will be fun.

AG, are you going to Disneyland? If so, could you later share how it was?
I am going to Anaheim soon and would love to know what would be best to see in Disneyland...

Yin, I'm not going to Disneyland. I've been there many times. I grew up in southern california. In fact, my sister's father-in-law worked at Disneyland his whole life. I would hit Space Mountain if I were going there. So much just depends on your experience when you go. You never know what kind of crowd you're going to encounter, and the crowd will influence what looks attractive. You may not want to wait in a line for an hour to ride a ride if there's a shorter line elsewhere.

I'm going to Great America, which I've never been to before. I can't say that I even know anything about it. Should be fun.

I just remembered reading somewhere about Disney reopening the submarine ride with a Finding Nemo theme. I think I would have to check that out if I could. The update sounded pretty cool.

great america is much less "fantastic" than disneyland. but they have some great stuff. the water rides are good...and the lines tend to be shorter!!

Is South Cali awesome or what?
It just looks so cool on TV and online!
Why did you move, AG?

And on another note: Have a great time at Great America!!!

I moved because my family moved. They moved to Tennessee the week I graduated High School. I tried staying, but it wasn't working, so eventually I joined them I spent three of the most depressing years of my life in Tennessee, and then was kind of elbowed into the Navy, which brought me to the San Francisco Bay Area of California. I've been here ever since.

AG, my only experiences with Tennessee include a horrendous break-up followed by a tornado I was trying to run away from (within a 2-day span), so I can't say I enjoyed Nashville very much during my visit in '98

What was the Navy like for you? Did you hate it?

I never left... you just must not have seen me posting. I was trying to avoid conversation on the Tip thread, and I've been sick for a month. I'm finally getting over it.

LOL Sorry to thwart your non-conversation on your thread. I just noticed I double posted, and messed up the coding. Using a cell phone to post really sucks.

I'm glad you're getting over being sick. I'm starting to suspect I might have allergies. I've been getting bouts of runny nose lately. Spring has definitely already sprung here.

Oh, and I'm definitely not catching everything here these days since I have no internet at home [yet].

I refuse to believe allergies exist. I really ticked off an ear/nose doctor with that. He was scanning my face to see if I was kidding and he got all upset and then totally P.O.ed when it dawned on him that I was just one of those new agey nutjobs with her fruity ideas.
People keep trying to curse me with allergies but I don't believe in them so it has no effect. lol

No internet at home?! Dear God, please be with AG in his time of need...

Yes, I am, though it would be nice to have all these loose ends tied up. We have no tv, internet, pool key, or mail room key! I do like it very much, though, and it's good to be rid of a former roommate.

Hmmm...I'm thinking that you're asking about a musical track...

The first to pop in my head is Madness's Wings of a Dove. I'm not sure if it's totally appropriate, but maybe it shows how I'm excited for summer. Maybe this one is better: Feeling Good.

I need that mail room key. My new sunglasses are in there.

Those songs and your sunglasses reference remind me of a blues brother's type of detective, haha

Or one of those guys that holiday with a hawaiian shirt and a panama or broner style hat and dark sunnies -like a 50's icon

I think you're on to something.

I do have a place in my heart for that style. I like the black suit, sunglasses, and enormous black sedans (though I don't properly sport that style myself). I was never a huge fan of ska music, but I definitely appreciated it, and Madness was great despite it's superficiality. (That sounds like I'm minimizing my love of ska, but really...I just wish more ska bands sounded like Madness. I like The Untouchables, too, but I think they might have been a California band and never made the big time. And, of course, now I want to say that I recently got to see...what were they called...The English Beat? Yes, that's them. Got to meet Dave Wakeling, too. He was nice and more humble than required.)

One of the nice things about moving has been revisiting my old CDs that have just been taking up space. I've listened to Sinead O'Connor, The Cranberries, and Madness thus far all of which were good albums to recall.
