Well according to Kat's chart, I am goat rising! YAY, I get to be sensible, a little bit, for once.

No, AG, I wasn't reading about Fire Horse on a computer site, I have a book. THE HANDBOOK OF CHINESE HOROSCOPES by Theodora Lau.....

......Orientals believe that whatever unbridled passions the Horse possesses, they will be multiplyied many times over when he or she is born in the year of the Fire Horse, which comes once in every sixty-year cycle. The last Fire Horse year was 1966 and it will not come again until the year 2026. In days of old (when liberated and overly assertive women were frowned upon as trouble makers and difficult to marry off) it was considered most unlucky to have a daughter born in this year.
Legend has it that the Fire Horse will consume everything in his path and wreak havoc wherever he goes. Many a lady Fire Horse, so they say, has ruined the life of a good man simply because of her unbridled nature....

hmm.
Well, AG, even though your a rat, I'm a pretty small horse, so I don't think you have to worry about any kind of physical pain, like me trampling you to death.
And, anyway, my brother was born in 1972 and he has always been like a best friend as well as brother. He's my favorite brother.

Future, how are you enjoying Dayton? Have you went anywhere interesting?

This is funny!

I hope you are not taking this book seriously, Gypsee

Sounds like the above was written by some bitter little man trampled by a lady Fire Horse.

gypsee i don't know where you get the idea that goats are "sensible" lol! creative, caring, homeloving, yes; sensible is not one of the words i've come across

the goat-rising horse tends to be less self-absorbed than the average pony..and AG is goat rising too apparently, so you will have that in common.

t lau's books are great, especially the first, Handbook...my first introduction was thru suzanne white, an american expat in france who learned it from a vietnamese astrologer...the contemporary edition is called "chinese astrology plain and simple"
her style reminds me a little of linda g, very confidential and chatty while distributing a mine of anecdotal info as well as analyses by sign...

i remember her describing a horse friend as "being able to bake a cake while the house fell down around her" ie capable of super-focus when involved in something, to the complete shut-out of everything else. my grandson is a horse and it certainly is true of him. my mom was a horse too! but she was a mom and i think better at keeping her antennae out when working.

Oooh wow. I feel popular all of a sudden!

Gypsee, how small are you?

The stuff I read about Horses suggests that they find love pretty easily, but their uncontainable nature makes it difficult for them to stay in relationships.

I'm sure we'd get along well all the same.

Yin,

Improv is going alright. I'm a little suspiscious about the fact that the Taurus guy who wasn't trusting me on stage is now suddenly acting like he's ok with me again, and even promoting a skit I suggested we try a year ago. I wonder if my improv teacher said anything to him.

Maybe. Maybe he was feeling better that night. I'm not sure. I do know that when the aggression started, he was definitely in an aggressive mood already. He's had to make some painful changes at work, and he probably didn't enjoy that.

I am 5 feet tall and 105 pounds, see, no threat to your rat-ness, You could run faster and hide!

KATONIC
where do I get to idea that goats are sensible? Hmm, my kids Daddy is one, and he just always "took care" of everything practical. So to me practical=sensible.
Did you say earlier, or in another thread that Chinese Astrology can tell you your time of death??? I would be very interested in knowing mine.

YIN
Naww, I don't take the book that seriously, I used to take it to work with me, though, for some reasons people who are not open to astrology, are open to chinese astrology. Maybe its the menus they read at the buffet or something, I don't know.
Or maybe, people like relating themselves to animals, cause most people like animals.
Either way, I'm quite comfy being a Fire Horse, it goes perfect with being a Sag.

AG
I didn't comment on your improv acting class because I have no idea what you guys are talking about, but I think its totally cool that you take acting classes.

Wow Gypsee! You ARE tiny!

Yeah, I'm part of an improv group. We do skits in the manner of Who's Line Is It Anyway? (Have you seen that program?) It's a lot of fun.

I would think that being so petite and being a horse you could probably outrun me. I could outwalk you with my longer strides, though. My female roommate is also short, and it's a little amusing to watch the effort it takes smaller legs to keep up.

"Fire Horse" does seem very appropriate for a Sag. I don't know that I've ever known a female Sag who didn't like horses and dogs.

Oh Yes AG, I love that show! I almost named my son Drew after Drew Carey. I bet you guys are hilarious! Would love to see a clip of your group sometime!

Actually, I walk very fast. I think its an Aries rising thing, aries people seem to always be walking with a sense of purpose, even if they arent going anywhere in particular. But being a sag, I also trip alot, which seems to be amusing to those around me.
Actually, I tell them falling hurts alot more when you get a little older, and the bruises last longer too!!
But I try and do something physical every day. I have too. Any weight on a person as short as me shows up like, right now.
I usually play basketball for 20-30 min a day with my son, and walk around the river.
If its too hot, then we will ride bikes.

gypsee, for the record, i was spoofing on the fatalism of chinese horoscopes - and others, to be honest...

there's a famous story of the astrologer who predicted the death in tournament of philip II(i think) of france, date, wound, everything. it came true. but was that a great astrologer or a self-fulfilling prophecy? predicting death in a reading of any kind is kind of like laying the evil eye on someone!

Thanks for clearing that up KAT. I always heard that you should never tell someone their death time, (even if you know, which would be difficult to predict, I mean you could get possibilities, but, how could someone know the EXACT time?) but I have a really short lifeline and always thought I would die young, but I'm still here!
That story sounds familiar, about the person who died when the astrologer told him he would, I think I have a book that story is in.
weird.
I have heard from friends in the health care field, that people die (I mean, elderly, sick people) very close to, or sometimes on their birthdays, or anniversaries, or death dates of a loved one.
Sorry for rambling on your thread AG!

Oh, it's quite alright.

Sometime I'll scan my hand or something so you can read it. An indian woman at work looked at it once, and told me that I'm too independent (versus the Pisces she'd just read who was too dependant). That's all she told me, though.

I've never tried to read a hand that I wasn't holding, but I'm up to try it if you are.
Seems like that reader didn't know very much about palmistry.
I've done two parties before. Where I was hired to read one after another. I will never do that again! Afterwards I felt like a wrung out dish rag!

oh yes!
In fact, after awhile I don't look at the lines anymore, I am just reading the person. Touching them brings their energy into mine, especially the hands, and also the eyes.
I actually started out with a class in psychometry, you know holding objects, and seeing images.
We would all throw something of ours into a hat, without looking at what was going in. Then each person would pull an object out, and randomly say whatever came to mind.
The owner of the object wasn't allowed to comment or encourage the reader until the reader was done, and then the object owner would say how close you came to being correct.
I got pretty good at it. Reading keys, and wallets and jewelry.
I don't like to read marital jewelry though it bothers me, too much mixed stuff comes through.
But it was from there that I went into learning palmistry.
Also interesting is...handwriting analysis.

So, do tell AG, do you write like a serial killer? lol.

Do serial killers write fairly fluidly and legibly with a fine-tipped smooth writing pen?

I do have the overgrown initials in my signature, which I think means I've got a healthy ego. My last name tends to be nebulous and diminished, which I think has to do with not wanting to be associated with my family or something (probably also has to do with the fact that my last name doesn't make me comfortable). I garnered those insights, if they're correct, from presidential candidate handwriting analysis articles I read. All the candidates had big initials. McCain's last name was diminished. I don't remember if they assigned a meaning to Hillary Clinton's signature being legible.

You sound completely normal. lol.
No, from what I've read (and it was only 2 books, so far from any expert view here) that when a person writes a paragraph, and they change from cursive to print and back and forth, that is not a good sign. My ex husband did that, and how that man is not in jail for some of the things he has pulled is beyond me.

If you write legible, than that is a good sign.
Again to be taken with a grain of salt, because my doctor writes like a DOCTOR, and she is a wonderful lady. I have worked with her and seen the sheer amount of paper work she deals with, so I'm sure with handwriting, you know, its relative to how much of it you do. How tired your hand gets.
I've had 3 surgeries on my left hand and it stinks because people always used to comment on my pretty handwriting, and I simply cannot write the same because of the nerves and tendons being all rerouted, roto-rootered and stuff.
Some things cannot be helped.

Pretty much the only cursive I do is my signature. I prefer printing. I'm just way out of practice in cursive.

So you're a lefty?...interesting
Lefties seem to be more sensitive. Both of the candidates in this last election are lefties. I have another Sag friend who's a lefty. He's very sensitive about being seen as incompetent, so he kind of overcompensates by being super competent.

hmmm, not sensitive about it at all, just kinda pi$$ed, like I can never look at the picture on my coffee mug cuz it faces outward. UMm scissors HURT! (I did finally buy a lefty pair)
Well, your in Cali, so you probably have been to Fishermans Wharf once or thrice, anyway, last time I was there, they had a whole Lefty store, I was in heaven.
I am sensitive, but probably not in the way your talking about your friend.
I don't take things personal or get offended or hurt feelings easily, but I FEEL everyones moods around me, so I sense tension, discord, impending doom, you know, useful stuff like that!

You, AG... have very nice eyes!

Anyway, I am trying to read your thread. It's loooong. I am still on page one so I'll probably make more comments as I read along.

Ciao

edit: AG. I think improv is great. My dream is to one day be on SNL or a show like it; and being in an improv class would totally prepare me for the stage. I have done only dramas on stage. If I did improv, I would learn to have comic timing, which I probably don't have.

Yeah, improv classes are very cool.
