Hey there lost person.Well I had a dream about you last night. (that fever came back, hit me AND the kids, yay!!) Anyway, you and I apparently worked together at my doctors office. lol. We decided to car pool, and the first day was my turn to drive you. I picked you up, and we got on the highway, we were not on it very long, when much to your credit, you deemed me unworthy of driving and said to pull over. hahah. Then you drove us to work in my car, and we DID arrive safely. Anyway, we went about our day, and we passed each other in the hall, when you decided to stick out your tongue at me, you know like, na-na-na-nah, and your tongue had a giant hole in the middle!!! I was like, "AG, you got a giant hole in the middle of your tongue, OMG!!!!" And you calmly, Ag-ishly replied, "I know, it is from where I took my tongue ring out." ?????????????? Is all I have to say about that!! IP: Logged |

LOL...that's funny. Never had a tongue ring, though, and I'm not one to stick out my tongue at someone. Commenting on your driving I probably would do. My roommate's something else to ride with. On the freeway, instead of keeping her foot steady on the pedal, she pushes it/eases off/pushes it/eases off...in a constant succession. Around town she's just not always efficient in her route choices. We once went to lunch by where we both worked, and she managed to miss the rather obvious driveway (which I was pointing to while not interupting her talking), so we had to do a couple u-turns to get back to where we were going. It was literally SO easy to get there. On the way out I felt compelled to guide her to the right driveway for exiting with the more efficient result (if we exited the one we entered through, we'd definitely be taking the long route back). My knee was kind of hurting when I came into this forum. It's stopped now, though. IP: Logged |

She sounds like me, I have no logic when it comes to driving. People are always asking me why did I go this way instead of that? Why, because I like this street name better, or there is a house on x road I like to look at. No logic whatsoever. As far as the freeway, my logic is just drive faster than everyone else and nobody can hit you, lol. Also, I have a left turn into traffic phobia. so I will turn right, then pull into the next available place, so I can turn right again on the intended road. hahah. Bet you appreciate her a bit more now. I like how you just point instead of interupting her story, that is very gentlemanly. See I wouldn't be talking, I would be blowing your hair strands with loud music, and drumming with my free hand on the dash board. It is truly frightening.I knew you wouldn't have a tongue ring or be the kind of person who sticks out your tongue, so I wonder why I dreamt that? Maybe just a feeling of fondness towards a person, you know when you like to tease and joke around with someone, I don't know? As for the hole, that is just weird. Don't forget there WAS a fever involved, so weirdness is to be expected. IP: Logged |

You know what's fun, and a little disorienting at the start? Waking up to Mexican radio. I've always preferred waking to the radio rather than an annoying alarm. Recently the station I had it on lost it's signal strength, so I went searching for a station that came in good. The first that came up was a Mexican station. It's crystal clear. I thought, "What the heck? I'll give it a try." It's strange, and a little disorienting waking up to people conversing in a language you don't understand. I search my mind for a reason this might be happening, and I remember that it's my radio. It is weird... but I'm not inclined to change it yet. IP: Logged |

AG, this is a Libran thing It has to do with our need for equilibrium and balance I used to drive my (Cappy) ex crazy doing the same thing.....There's a perfectly good reason for this -- will explain more later IP: Logged |

I gave my roommate a justification for her method, but she didn't really have one of her own. I'll be curious to hear your explanation. IP: Logged |

I have a name for it. BAD driving skills!! That would make me sick. I can't wait to hear Zala's excuse for this. IP: Logged |

To be fair, I wouldn't consider that trait alone to be a bad driving skill. It doesn't really affect her ability to drive. It's just strange to experience. Instead of the feeling of constancy in the driving, you instead feel an off/on sensation.IP: Logged |

No, no -- you guys are thinking EXTREMES here!! With our innate need for balance, judgment and equality, we have to follow at a certain (internally-derived) distance from the car ahead of us. Therefore, when they slow down a little, we let off on the gas a little. When they speed up, we gently accelerate again to maintain that PERFECT distance. It isn't a slam-on-the-brakes-and-give-you-whiplash then pedal-to-the-floor technique -- at least in my case it's much more subtle than that -- Capiche?? (Thanks for the "U," AG ; But can I buy another vowel?? There aren't very many words I know of with Q,U, and all the rest consonants ) IP: Logged |

What about qufjskld? lol I have to say that I don't think my roommate does it to maintain the perfect distance. Actually, she's available so I asked her. She says that she does do that, but she still does her thing even if there is not car ahead of her. A couple other justifications she offered up were trying to maintain a speed (her driving does feel a little bit like the cruise control), and her internal battle between wanting to go fast and realizing that she probably shouldn't. The thing I equate it to is a really fast airplane I read about in the paper a long time ago. It was supposed to skip along the edge of the atmosphere as a means of saving gas. It was supposed to gas and then glide for awhile before gassing again. I don't remember the reason it was supposed to be fast. I will say, though, that I've been known to maintain perfect distances behind cars, and my fluxuation never feels like my roommate's. Hers is steady. It's like 5 seconds on, 5 seconds off. It may actually be less time off than on, but there's a rhythm to it (there's a good consonant-filled word: rhythm). ____ (Zala and I are playing Scrabble on FB.) I'm still looking for a place to use my "J". It sucks to have been able to spell "Jupiter" and "juvenile," and not have had the place available. ____ IP: Logged |

Thanks for the consonantial suggestion, AG About that rhythm: yeah, I do the on/off thing too, mostly off -- but I think a lot of it probably comes from what your roomie said too, ie a speed adjustment when you notice you're getting a little too lead-footed.....

I've spent the last few hours listening to the new beat loops I bought for my recording program. For those that don't know, I can play any instrument I need except drums, because I've never owned any until this past Christmas (now I own one). While I can program drums, it lacks the human feel when you do it that way, so I'd prefer to use a real recording of a human playing drums. I bought 780 loops of former Sugarcubes percussionist Siggi Baldursson playing drums (Sugarcubes are the band Bjork started out in). It's pretty cool. Because he uses one drum kit for most of the beats I should be able to mix and match pretty easily in order to give variety.IP: Logged |

Well I had a bit of a shock wake today.Somehow in the evening my son and I got our phones switched. Soooo, one of his little girly friends decided to call him @ 5:40 this morning. He had his volume on high, and the ringtone was AC/DC's Back in Black. I sat straight up in the bed. I must have looked like a risen zombie. OMG, I have not felt right all day! IP: Logged |

I was shocked by my wake-up, too, though probably not as offensive as AC/DC. Someone was quite excited on the Mexican station when it turned on today. Scared me to death. Then, when turning it down I turned the wrong knob, so now I'm back to English. My morning was a little exciting. I caused a bit of a nail-biting scenario at work when I accidentally left the President's address on an email intended for my supervisor only. It didn't say anything derogatory or anything. I was emailing my supervisor to ensure she addressed the eventual scenario she was going to come to with this new direction from the President. I didn't notice the President's email was still on the email until the moment I hit send, and by then it was too late. My Supervisor didn't think much of it, because someone above her would indeed have to deal with what I asked about. The President did manage to misunderstand what I was saying, though, as she lacks the context of what I do. I sort of wish I could email her back after her reply to me, because I could explain what I meant, but I won't. IP: Logged |

Sorry, AG, I musta let those Sag planets slip my mind when I wrote that.I still can't get the mental image of you waking up to excited Mexicans out of my head. You know some languages are like that, they can be talking about dryer lint and it just comes out that way....lol. Anyway, hope everything turned out well at work for ya. IP: Logged |

Work seems a bit weird lately. Hopefully nothing's up. My friend who's the HR manager says they're not laying people off, so I guess things are ok. to The Graveyard Book. I finished it today. It's the same author that wrote Coraline. I started listening to the book I got for free. It's called Paranoia by Joseph finder. Seems kind of like a movie. Intelligent slacker gets caught embezzling money, and in exchange for not being prosecuted he has to pose as a hot shot exec, and get hired on by the competition in order to spy on them. There's supposed to be a twist at the end, and thus far the set up is pretty good. Lot of pieces to tie up. IP: Logged |
